The third series may be over but we still have a lot to say.

I actually cannot believe my eyes watching the Aussie version season 2 😱

It’s is absolutely mental isn’t it. I’m still reeling. One woman who was banished said it should be renamed “The Dummies” and she was spot on

BottomWibblyWob · 29/01/2025 23:32

Has everyone seen that Alexander’s story was inspired £61,000 of donations to Mencap. People are bloody brilliant aren’t they!

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 29/01/2025 22:00

Health as well I would think. What would happen if someone rowing a boat or carrying giant stone dicks up a hill suddenly keeled over?

Physical and mental health as well, probably. They wouldn't want someone to suffer psychological problems either.

LlamaDrama20 · 30/01/2025 08:46

That’s great news about all the donations to Mencap! Can anyone remember what ‘Sperber Yer Yer Yer’ was when it was played back anyway?

ApplesinmyPocket · 30/01/2025 10:01

Row, Row, Row your boat?

If you sing yerrrr, yerrrr, yerrr (all on one note) and then ascend for burrr and finish with a higher sperrr then all becomes clear. Though evidently I have gone a bit mad.

Is this the series where there's basically someone going round cackling with laughter, pushing people off cliffs, with "I'M A TRAITOR" on their forehead and they still can't figure it out? Lololololol

Well, I did think about this when a lot of posters on here were complaining about how dull the ‘missions’ were. I assume they all need to be suitable for that year’s crop of contestants, be they young and fit, people in their 70s, little people, partially-sighted people, those with limb differences etc. Which rules out a lot!

yeah they need a mix of some that need brains and some that need fitness, don't they

jay55 · 30/01/2025 10:43

I've loved that they all properly take part in the missions, unlike I'm a celeb ruling so many out for reasons.

And (as Marina Hyde and Richard Osman were also saying)something that ties the missions more firmly to the main game. The shields kind of do this, but I think the producers could do more with it. There were some workable suggestions on here— I think someone suggested that money that isn’t won in a mission could augment a special prize pot that’s only added to the final prize money if it’s won by a traitor, or something.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 30/01/2025 11:50

I really liked the missions this year, the dolls and the doors/clowns ones in particular were really funny and the 😱when Jake ripped off the teddy's head!

123ZYX · 30/01/2025 12:04

@HeronWing I think the idea of adding it to the prize pot if it's won by a traitor would mean there is no benefit to the traitor if they have to win to get it - they would get just as much if it was added to the general prize pot.

It would need to be won by the last traitor standing even if they don't make it to the end of the game, I think. Which would also increase the competition between the traitors themselves

Yes, anything that incentivises traitors as a separate group.

I finally listened to Richard Osman and Marina Hyde on the final today — they both thought that the Seer innovation hadn’t worked (because it dooms whoever is involved if both claim the other is lying, as it’s only logical to banish both), and would be unlikely to reappear next season, and were interesting on what RO imagined was the heartbreak of the bookers doing the casting in the knowledge that their most interesting characters would almost certainly be banished early.

Both of them wanted Jack (the third of the Rail Replacement Trio) to be brought back next season, because they thought he’d be a good player, and because he’d already been through the casting and vetting process.

That got me thinking about vetting contestants. Other than I suppose a basic police check, criminal record etc, what else do you suppose they vet for?

Interesting comment from Richard Osman about the casting team being sad about losing the interesting characters. BUT they could keep the interesting characters if there were more of them - or at least fewer people who eliminate simply cos "books". (and also may be fewer bullies, or any bullying type behaviour was knocked on the head during the filming.)

BottomWibblyWob · 30/01/2025 13:48

I know Jake got a lot of stick for ripping that teddys head off but when he explained his disability it kind of made sense. If he can only efficiently use one arm and the medal was inside the teddy what else was he supposed to do?

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 30/01/2025 13:49

I thought it was quite funny!

Was the medal inside though? I thought it was under it the whole time and he'd missed it?

I should think any missions would be a bit boring to watch. People even complained about how boring the helicopter one was...

No pleasing some people.

Unless you have it like that gunpowder one, where there's incentive for the traitors to sabotage

Binglebong · 30/01/2025 18:02

I'd quite like a hide and seek. If they aren't found they get a shield but if they are money in the pot. Varying amounts (either known or not known by the hiders to make it more interesting!). Would they go for easy to find to get the money in or hide for the shield?

Re Jake's right hand. It would also explain why he was more willing to get off the boat in the first challenge, as he would have found the rowing very difficult.

Now, I really didn't like Jake for what he said to Kaz, losing his shit with Dan when nobody else got off the boat, and for his attitude towards Alexander. However, as the series progressed I can appreciate that he is a strong team player, and generally stood his stance even though he was wrong a few times at the round table. I don't blame him or Leanne for banishing again and winning eventually.

otherfoot · 31/01/2025 11:54

Sorry a bit late to the party but I've just caught up. Was a bit disappointed that Leanne won. She was always way off the mark and a bit of a bully. Poor Alexander. He was so kind and just seemed to get attacked over entirely made up stuff!

We actually used to play this game at school and as a drinking game at uni (although we called it Wolves and the villagers have to hunt the werewolves that are killing the townsfolk). A couple of variations we played:

  • a hunter is secretly appointed and each night they have the option to kill someone they think is a wolf (but could accidentally shoot an innocent)
  • a medic is also secretly appointed and they have the option to choose to save someone's life each night (but it's a bit of a stab in the dark as they don't know who is getting murdered)
lolly792 · 31/01/2025 12:18

I know the game as Werewolf, sounds similar to what you played. There's a Seer in Werewolf but their identity isn't known to anyone unless they choose to ask one player to reveal what they are, which is much better than the Seer version they added into Traitors

Is there a thread discussing the Aussie Traitors S2? 🤣 I've honestly never seen anything like it.
