I'm a little bit excited. 9pm. Channel 5 for lovely comfort viewing and looking misty eyed at Siegfried 🥰

I think you're probably right. The women are more like friends, I think.
I enjoyed it, as always. It's nice and easy on the eye.
That pony was so cute and the horse was as gorgeous as the scenery around it.

No, horses don't generally respond like that to injections, so it was just for the story. They don't sit like dogs either, or lie down on command as a rule so they'd obviously used trick trained beasties.

Looking forward to the Christmas episode!

Thanks for explaining about the horse, it’s been on my mind since the episode aired 🙂

Yes, Audrey and Helen seem to have a friendship that the men don’t seem to have with her but she is very good at taking them to task and maybe that’s where the respect both ways comes from because they know she won’t put up with nonsense

unconditionalpurelove · 26/10/2024 14:27

I thought all the acting was very good this episode, especially James and Helen and Siegfried and Tristan.

Houseplanter · 26/10/2024 15:04

She's their housekeeper; if they start calling her Audrey any semblance of her being in their employ has gone. They've already made her character far more than it ever was, and given her far more influence.

I'm not complaining; I like it.

She called Siegfried by his name in that last episode which seemed odd, pretty sure she always said " Mr. Farnon" before.

It's just a different take isn't it?

I don't think the books were strictly accurate as to life at Skeldale House & also I think that some of the things that happened to "James" had happened to other vets & not Alf Wight.

SiegfriedsCupofTea · 26/10/2024 23:08

I've finally been able to watch it and loved it! Siegfried was on form and he and Tristan were great. I loved the silliness and I really don't care about accuracy, I'm here for the coziness and Siegfried 🥰

Is the Christmas special usually Christmas Eve?

Not2identifying · 31/10/2024 19:41

I've just realised Season 5 is over (except for the Christmas special). I have nothing to watch on Thursdays now!

makeupnovice12 · 04/11/2024 16:24

Does anyone know why the first 2 episodes have been deleted from Channel 5 player (of series 5 that is)?

purpleme12 · 04/11/2024 16:29

It's showing on mine

For the latest series? Mine just shows from episode 3?

purpleme12 · 04/11/2024 21:13

Oh yes I've looked on laptop and see what you mean
I think it's a glitch cos it's like they're supposed to be there
I assume they'll fix it when they realise.

MonkeyTennis34 · 08/11/2024 11:16

I've only recently discovered this series.
I remember the 1970s but didn't watch it back then.

Oh wow! It's my favourite cosy, feel good series of all time!

I've watched all the series and think I have about 3 episodes to be up to speed.

ALL the actors are fantastic...my personal favourite is Tristan 🩷

Not2identifying · 08/11/2024 22:30

Yes, I like Tristan too. It's basically a soap opera. I enjoyed the focus on veterinary issues in the first season but I keep coming back because I do like the characters. Mrs Hall is my favourite.

AutumnMagpies · 08/11/2024 22:38

I hope people are encouraged to read the books again. I loved them when they came out.
