I'm a little bit excited. 9pm. Channel 5 for lovely comfort viewing and looking misty eyed at Siegfried 🥰

How did they test James for Brucellosis when they had to pretend Helen was a cow?

SiegfriedsCupofTea · 23/09/2024 18:53

Don't pick holes, just enjoy the cosy comfort viewing.

Helen was just a woman and James an important man and a pilot with the RAF to boot so the path lab were only too happy to test him.

Perfect comfort viewing. Loved it. I know not cannon but I’m sort of hoping Audrey ends up with Siegfried. Not that it would happen in reality or that they’d call each other by first names!

Littletreefrog · 23/09/2024 19:02

Loved it. My black cat has just died though so had a good cry even though it was supposed to be funny.

😢 aww.
It was a sweet story, though.

Me too. I did worry that he'd become an addict though, and would take to breaking in at the dispensary at Skeldale House.

KohlaParasaurus · 23/09/2024 20:00

Here you are! I do love how the series has developed the key characters from the books.

RainintheDesert · 23/09/2024 20:46

I usually like a very different sort of telly but this is a nice, gentle warm blanket of a show. Well acted, funny, charming and I like the animals too.

Squidgemoon · 24/09/2024 23:07

I only discovered this show about a month ago through finding the first series on Netflix. DH and I have binged all 4 seasons and finally caught up with episode 1 of season 5 tonight - which was just lovely 🥰 I just love all the characters and it’s so gentle and relaxing.

JewelleryCat · 25/09/2024 08:13

That’s what I love too, a bit of escapism and it is comforting viewing like a person said above. I can’t wait for the Christmas special too, I’m guessing there will be one

WinterFrog · 25/09/2024 13:45

I love it! Mrs Hall is my favourite character, but I do find Siegfried very easy on the eye! In fact the whole show is very easy on the eye, with lovely actors, and the animals and the glorious scenery.

WinterFrog · 25/09/2024 13:47

Sorry for your loss @Littletreefrog 💐 We lost our very old lady early this year too. They take a piece of your heart don't they?

SiegfriedsCupofTea · 26/09/2024 19:41

How has a week gone so quickly?!

@Littletreefrog Flowers I'm sorry for your loss.

@WinterFrog that cardigan last week nearly zeroed his sex appeal for me. I adore him but I suppose if dreams came true he wouldn't be in it for very long anyway and it might get accidentally donated to the war effort.

I felt sorry for Mr Bosworth when it was his dog and he found Bingo with Mr Farnon and Mrs Hall

SiegfriedsCupofTea · 26/09/2024 22:05

Awwww so lovely but poor Bingo. Laughing at Siegfried's poor turn of phrase 🤣

Totally sickened by the adverts for Philip Schofield castaway "telling his side of the story" though. The mattress ones are bad enough.

Does anyone know where I can watch series 7

That made me chuckle 😂
I'm so aged I find the cardie rather alluring 😎 But it's his sweet smile that makes me melt!

Clawdy · 27/09/2024 08:08

I wondered at first if Helen's sister and Doris were going to become a couple ( would never have happened in the books!) But then Carmody was gazing at Doris looking rather spellbound......

CarmelaBrunella · 28/09/2024 10:55

I'm not sure about the Doris story, unless that's set to continue. The ARP Warden and the dog was done beautifully. Very touching.

WinterFrog · 28/09/2024 12:19

I thought it was very tender and sweet.
