MAFS UK is back!!

1000 replies

bumblenbean · 07/09/2024 23:09

Can’t see another thread on this so sorry if I’ve missed it, but I surely can’t be the only sad sack unduly excited that MAFS is back later this month?!

I see a scandal has kicked off before it’s even started due to one of the contestants allegedly being a domestic abuser 😱

Anyone want to join a discussion thread for when the series starts on 16th? 🙌

Doesn't anyone else find Eve scary? I find her much more scary than Charlie. You can see her seething and then she explodes. My impression is that she walks off because she thinks she might hit Charlie. I don't think she realises how she comes across.

I would certainly stop dating her at the first sign of that. Charlie is a bit nuts, I agree, though. I would love to have seen the backstage scenes with the worse arguments.

Bring it on!!!

"Physician heal thyself" comes to mind! 😂

Indeed ! Hairdressers and barbers often have shit hair. I don't understand it, you're a walking advert for your job.

Pieandchips999 · 19/09/2024 13:52

@MounjaroUser I feel exactly the same. I guess the other posters who mentioned roid rage noticed this too. Given how short a time since she came out she looks incredibly built and masculine in body shape. Unless that was her look already which would be unusual. She seems to have quite deep problems managing anger and makes me think of a stereotypical angry man. I am actually quite worried for Charlie even though she is also making some choices. They actually unnerve me as it seems constantly on the verge of a physical incident. They need to split up and leave and the show should be intervening more

BustyCrustacean · 19/09/2024 13:58

"shit lid"- ah this is what I come for, thanks @joolsella

also, I think Kieran has a fair bit of normality underneath the showmanship- I feel Kristina is genuinely a bit loopy, but in a good way and has a lovely heart- def my faves so far

agree with pp about potential 'roid rage in Eve- she's a massive gaslighter, too. I like Charlie, I think she's more genuine

BustyCrustacean · 19/09/2024 14:05

just seen @Pieandchips999 comment and totally agree. something about Eve- ironically I'd say she's probably quite vain and insecure (despite no make-up etc) - it's like she's come out and really embraced a role! I think Charlie's more comfortable in her own skin

I've said this on a previous thread, but my dad always said you should use the hairdresser with the worst haircut in the salon, as he/she will have cut everyone else's 😆

chaosmaker · 19/09/2024 14:17

Emma also saying she has a great personality lol

Combattingthemoaners · 19/09/2024 14:22

I still think Eve is being over whelmed by Charlie. She might have a bit of a temper but so would I if someone kept saying let’s move on and forget about things…..then bring up everything you have done again. Charlie doesn’t listen. She comes across as manic! Screaming and bashing at someone’s door because they want space is not normal behaviour.

That said, they are both odd and doomed!

HarrietBond · 19/09/2024 14:35

They’re both extreme. Charlie is shouting through a closed door and Eve is angry and distant. They just like shagging each other but they’re otherwise completely incompatible.

Wasn’t Eve a bodybuilder even before she came out? So roids could be a long term thing for her.

Makes sense. DP says similar about fat waiters, as in if they eat the staff food, it must be good. Certainly applies to one of our favourite places in East London where the waiters are rotund, the food is plentiful and spectacular.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/09/2024 15:23

I agree, Eve is difficult, pretty sure she's got roid rage too which isn't being shown perhaps she walks off before she loses her shit, she looks like she's on gear and her skin certainly looks like she might be. I think they're showing Charlie out to be needy but it's Eve who has issues.
Agree with this, she seems hopped up on testosterone - look at her jaw muscles, hairy face and acne. I will be surprised if she doesn't decide to self-ID as a man before too long (this might be part of her "story")

Charlie is awful too.

As are the rest of them.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 19/09/2024 15:27

I honestly can't see any of them lasting so far. K and K are lovely but I'd question if they almost have too much in common

BrightLady · 19/09/2024 15:29

I really like Emma - I think she's articulate and unapologetic. I love her positivity about her body and her willingness to call Caspar out.

mealienpleasehelp · 19/09/2024 15:34

No one famously hot has ever had hair like that even when monks were mainstream. Why would you go for a look made famous in Dumb and Dumber?
This has actually killed me @TheBers2024 🤣🤣🤣

I am loving that Mafs is back along with the most entertaining part of all, The Thread.

I thought Caspar was hot initially, but very quickly got sulky, moody man-child vibes from him and he didn't disappoint. So unattractive.

Demonhunter · 19/09/2024 15:35

I don't think it's right to call people out and be fuming because they have a preference to what they find attractive. I find it extremely arrogant that because someone finds themselves attractive that anyone who doesn't must be wrong and re-educated. It's vile.

We all have preferences I don't care what anyone says, there are people you do and do not find attractive.

That is totally true. But as said earlier, Caspar seems to want Gigi Hadid while looking like my bin bag on collection day from the neck down.

murasaki · 19/09/2024 15:41

Women also tend to be a bit more flexible on looks if the personality is there than men on first pass, at least from my experience.

FlippertyFlopperty · 19/09/2024 15:50

Caspar reminds me of James Argent from The Only Way is Essex who was with gorgeous Lydia Bright but still wasn't happy. He was also podgy.

BrightLady · 19/09/2024 15:50

I didn't get the sense that she was saying he was wrong to find her unattractive, just that she didn't appreciate how he centred it on her weight.

But body type can be a preference and a turn off, I don't like men thinner than me but I equally don't like overly big muscles. I'd never say someone was unattractive because of it, but that it is for me and what I would be attracted to.

Of course if you've grown to love someone already and their body changes that's a different kettle of fish, but when there aren't feelings there initial attraction is ultimately crucial.

Edited

But would you give a whole speech about it being like that or find a few other points to hang it on instead? I would have gone for the need to get to know you angle to start with in this scenario while I figured out something more diplomatic.
