MAFS UK is back!!

Can’t see another thread on this so sorry if I’ve missed it, but I surely can’t be the only sad sack unduly excited that MAFS is back later this month?!

I see a scandal has kicked off before it’s even started due to one of the contestants allegedly being a domestic abuser 😱

Anyone want to join a discussion thread for when the series starts on 16th? 🙌

Charlie and Eve are very polarising at the moment it seems! I was totally on Eve’s side and surprised a lot of people think she’s gaslighting. I suppose I’m going on what I assume has happened behind closed doors though. I reckon Charlie really flys off the handle at the drop of a hat and goes berserk. She seemed argumentative when she was with the group of grooms and her friend told her not to ‘fuck it up’. There must be a reason for that. It’s suffocating when people won’t let things lie.

As for Nathan and his ADHD, someone said it’s about his emotional intelligence and not related to his ADHD. I don’t agree with that at all! It seems he has slower processing times, which is totally ADHD related. And I don’t know how he can any sort of conversation in those circumstances; a camera crew around filming him, he’s in a foreign country, he’s with someone he barely knows, he’s just done some sort of activity like cooking, then he has to talk to someone about their trauma! Totally overwhelming for someone with ADHD.

yep - emotional difficulties are very much an ADHD thing

Every time Charley speaks though it is passive aggressive and quickly escalates to her making some flippant remark and then swearing. It's awful. It's obviously a reaction to feeling rejected but I don't blame Eve for not wanting to be around that.

No, they are both fairly extreme in how they behave. Just that the need to get away, and interpreting heightened speech as shouting, are both characteristic of someone experiencing sensory overload.

completely agree - it's suffocating and toxic the way Charlie speaks, and always has to get in the last word. Eve was walking away, and Charlie is yelling after her with threats. I couldnt cope with that in any way.

When Eve was saying Charlie followed her to the other room and was banging on the door and shouting, it makes sense why Eve looks completely drained.

Why did Charlie bring up the argument again, when they had decided to have a nice last evening and move on from it?

Yep. As I said yesterday, Charlie terrifies me. Her eyes go completely dark and scary when she's angry. I think she has some serious issues. Toxic is definitely the right word. I'm team Eve.

I reckon there's a lot of editing. After making Carlson last year look like a complete fool I don't trust the editors at all.

HarrietBond · 19/09/2024 10:51

Carlson? My mind is blank on him.

HarrietBond · 19/09/2024 10:51

Obviously I may have had a very strong opinion about him this time last year.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/09/2024 10:54

It's been bugging me for two days that Nathan reminds me of someone. I googled to see if he had been in anything else. Today it has come to me. It's Eddie; Joey's crazy room mate in Friends. (A better version, obviously)

Loving this thread! Nathan seems such a simple guy, I am not sure you can blame it on his ADHD (I know others will disagree) he just seems to lack emotional intelligence. However I felt sorry for him when the twin walked in, I would have probably done the same! How would he know the bride wasn't wearing white, people wear all sorts of colours now. It really threw him for 6

thelastkingdom · 19/09/2024 11:08

The posh couple I think the guy thinks he is better looking then is. I do get the issue with her being like his sister though - no one wants that do they? I can see the likeness both in looks and personality too. If he didn't like curvy did he put that on his requirements? Feels like the experts have got a few more wrong this time round
😂

wizzler · 19/09/2024 11:15

Thank you @RainbowZebraWarrior it's been bugging me too !

My gut feeling is that Caspar was expecting one of the many slim, enhanced, OnlyFans types that the show is always full of, and wanted a fun few weeks and a good holiday.

It can and will be a combination of both I'd say. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Hes 24 I think? I also think they are both awkward in front of the cameras. I'd imagine it would be massively overwhelming.

You may well be right. Hopefully when the series progresses he will come out of his shell a bit more

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/09/2024 11:37

Pudding-basin-hair-do fella coming up tonight seems like a right cunty chops.

murasaki · 19/09/2024 11:41

Were going to need a new thread....

wasnt it Nathan who said he'd previously been in a longterm relationship?

murasaki · 19/09/2024 12:27

I think it was for 3 years or so when he was 18. Maybe the partner grew up and moved on.

He seems well intentioned but very very hard work.

Extremely hard work. I guess you could just sit and look at him, he’s very easy on the eye.

Demonhunter · 19/09/2024 12:33

I love Kieran and Kristina, if they don't work out I'm going to be so disappointed. The rest so far I can't see any hope for, what were the experts thinking!!

Yes, he said 5 years.

chaosmaker · 19/09/2024 12:36

I would definitely walk away from Charlie as there seems to be no let up. Also on the shouting, we don't know what is edited which would make that make more sense possibly. They've matched up 2 people that have different speeds to take new relationships and I bet Charlie badgered about sex and wore her down going on what she said pre-wedding about moving in after 3 weeks and going at a million miles an hour.

Also ADHD presents very differently in men and women so Lacey might not have a clue with him as opposed to her sister.

He is a barber I believe

MagpiePi · 19/09/2024 12:58

Only half way through Ep 3 but,
Emma “I am confident and attractive (in my opinion) and YOU WILL FANCY ME WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT”
Charley and Eve at a car crash. Charley is demanding constant attention and affirmation and won’t see that Eve wants to take things slowly.
Kieran and Kristina - the constant clowning around is exhausting.
Lacey and Nathan - another one that is demanding he instantly fancies her and thinks she’s the amazing.

joolsella · 19/09/2024 12:59

Another barber with a shit lid

Bring it on!!!
