MAFS UK is back!!

1000 replies

bumblenbean · 07/09/2024 23:09

Can’t see another thread on this so sorry if I’ve missed it, but I surely can’t be the only sad sack unduly excited that MAFS is back later this month?!

I see a scandal has kicked off before it’s even started due to one of the contestants allegedly being a domestic abuser 😱

Anyone want to join a discussion thread for when the series starts on 16th? 🙌

Lacey raised the driving issue not Nathan...she did so because she wanted to discuss her grief

He didn't want to ask her about her feelings and have that conversation...possibly because he doesn't know how to deal with it

It's too early in the relationship to bring up trauma...imo

The whole cast so far seem an acquired taste.
Lacey is so odd asking for speeches, surely she put this requirement in her application. Also if she has experience with adhd then why is she constantly putting him on the spot. It's all madness

I find that really strange. She comes across as someone who doesn't have a clue about ADHD!

Ilovetowander · 19/09/2024 07:41

I think Eve is difficult and quite aggressive but Charlie is not easy either . Tbh I think they should leave the marriage now as it is not good for either of them. I find it quite difficult to watch as neither seem to want to truly compromise.

K and k are lovely and I hope other couples on the programme don't interfere.

I think Emma and Casper have real potential and are really well suited

Starseeking · 19/09/2024 07:43

This is the first series I've watched and now I'm hooked lol

Caspar reminds me off Rufus Sewell.

She asked him about her looks though. Don't ask if you can't handle an honest answer.

Crikey, they've really scraped the barrel with this lot haven't they 🤦‍♀️

Apart from Kieran/Kristina and Emma, they seem to be totally lacking in personality/intelligence. The trailers for tonight's bunch don't hold out much hope either.

I agree, it's such a sensitive issue and people handle that sort of thing so differently to each other. I'd only divulge that sort of info straight after meeting someone if a) they asked or b) they were someone who understands (therapist etc)

Or you were very thick skinned and could cope with how that person does or doesn't respond.

My son has suspected (about to start the process) ASD/ADHD. He wouldn't know Initially how to process that sort of information, he'd have to have time to think about it then he'd respond and be lovely about it. He has a lot of empathy, but not particularly when it's suddenly needed.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 19/09/2024 09:18

Kristina is the image of Sam Faiers!

CaptainBeanThief · 19/09/2024 09:20

Lacey is expecting too much of Nathan,
He has ADHD, she should know he may not know how to respond with her sister also having ADHD.
She shouldn't be burdening someone she hardly knows let alone someone she's married for an experiment her past trauma. She brought it up in hopes he would support her with it but he shouldn't have to, the honeymoon is for fun!

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 19/09/2024 09:23

So far Kieran and Kristina are our only hope of a happy ending, nice people, I hope it works. Eminem and Stan are dead in the water but no doubt the producers will lure them back in for the drama and stretch it out a few weeks. Hilarious that that walking pudding bowl in the next ep thinks his wife isn't attractive enough for him🤣

I keep thinking that too! Where is her accent from? To me, she sounds like Sam Faiers too!

Emma's husband insinuating she's fat. He's not perfect!!! Has he seen his own belly? She's absolutely gorgeous and I love her curly hair and her sass!

Who is Eminem and Stan? Is it Charlie and Eve?

I think Eve is actually very aggressive. When Charlie was speaking calmly, Eve was snapping back with "yes" every few seconds. I think she's toxic. I think Charlie is quite a dependable type.

ADHD can present differently and has different forms. From what Nathan is saying, he has inattentive ADHD primarily and her sister may well have hyperactive - if you're used to one, it might not help with the other.

Eve's need for space and her comments about shouting remind me strongly of my autistic children. Very common to perceive someone's agitated tone as shouting in a sensory overload.

Totally agree. If you've met one Autistic or ADHD person, then you've met one Autistic / ADHD person. (AuDHD here with AuDHD daughter) Everyone presents differently, albeit with some crossover similarities.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 19/09/2024 10:03

To be fair, Charlie wasn't shouting at the breakfast, Eve is very tightly wound. Agree that Nathan is inattentive rather than deliberately not listening. I hope he is being supported behind the scenes. I felt for him when they were having the conversation about driving. He was obviously finding it hard to formulate a response.

joolsella · 19/09/2024 10:04

Thwy have certainly done well at selecting people with issues and then paired them with someone who provoke them

It's like a car crash to watch

HarrietBond · 19/09/2024 10:06

Whatever is going on with Eve, and Charlie, they are clearly totally mismatched in a relationship if they can't navigate the post-shag high in a posh hotel. They are each at the extreme of their personality types.

joolsella · 19/09/2024 10:13

I wonder what their contracts say

Do they get paid? Maybe they need to stay to a certain point

tinymoon · 19/09/2024 10:15

Charlie and Eve are very polarising at the moment it seems! I was totally on Eve’s side and surprised a lot of people think she’s gaslighting. I suppose I’m going on what I assume has happened behind closed doors though. I reckon Charlie really flys off the handle at the drop of a hat and goes berserk. She seemed argumentative when she was with the group of grooms and her friend told her not to ‘fuck it up’. There must be a reason for that. It’s suffocating when people won’t let things lie.

As for Nathan and his ADHD, someone said it’s about his emotional intelligence and not related to his ADHD. I don’t agree with that at all! It seems he has slower processing times, which is totally ADHD related. And I don’t know how he can any sort of conversation in those circumstances; a camera crew around filming him, he’s in a foreign country, he’s with someone he barely knows, he’s just done some sort of activity like cooking, then he has to talk to someone about their trauma! Totally overwhelming for someone with ADHD.

Hadn't thought of that ,it's a possibility for sure! As soon as I saw here she reminded me of Sam.

Every time Charley speaks though it is passive aggressive and quickly escalates to her making some flippant remark and then swearing. It's awful. It's obviously a reaction to feeling rejected but I don't blame Eve for not wanting to be around that.
