I wonder who else they considered for the presenting role, as Claudia to me wouldn’t be the obvious choice to me - she’s more jovial Strictly than Herr Flick or Anne Robinson on The Weakest Link. However, she’s nailed it!

By the way, did anyone else take half of series one to realise that it was Claudia’s face on the flag, which I thought was just a nice heraldic pattern, until I realised it was a cloak and face.

Edited

I never knew that!!! Thanks 😊
I only realised this week when Andrew became a traitor that the colours on their VTs are different. Traitors are orange banner with purple writing and faithful are the opposite. Andrew's colours swapped when he changed, otherwise I probably would never have noticed.

ScribblingPixie · 20/01/2024 14:41

What happens the next night when he is not murdered?

He said (I think) that if they can just survive one more day it is 3 traitors vs 3 faithfuls so they should be able to gain the upper hand even if under suspicion. Though what happens if a banishment vote is a tie between two people, I wonder?

feelingalittlehorse · 20/01/2024 14:47

I don’t think they recruited Ross because he was male 🤣🤣 Harry is playing a strategic game and needed someone popular/ not under too much suspicion but could be thrown under the bus if needs be/ not too opinionated. I’m not sure any of the others actually would come under that.

However, I think Ross is going to be a much better Traitor than he was a Faithful, and I suspect it’ll turn out to be a bad decision for Harry in the end.

commonground · 20/01/2024 14:47

I would just like someone to win who has put the effort in to think about the game, rather than someone who gets there by bland or clueless default. So really hope Molly gets wise to Harry soon and does some detective/critical work to earn her place at the end- if she makes it.

burnoutbabe · 20/01/2024 14:47

Harry told Zack jaz and mollie he had a shield.

So if they assume he was targeted and survived that must make traitors either

Ross Andrew jazmin or Evie. Ie throwing heat on 2 of the traitors.

I suppose it throws heat off Harry though.

I'd prefer no spoilers for any traitors outside the uk one. Assume we have all watched past seasons of uk is fair but not other series around the world.

It seems "u fair" that someone gets to the final as a result but only picked in last few days. Whereas earlier traitors had to lie and scheme for much longer.

Really it's just pot luck who gets to the final . Either a cunning traitor or a sheep (traitor or faithful) I can see Andrew being there at the end without having done much.

dapsnotplimsolls · 20/01/2024 14:48

Ross won't be able to influence anyone against Harry because he's proved to be crap at guessing the Traitors.

commonground · 20/01/2024 14:54

Claudia is the ideal host because she is quick enough to respond to evolving situations.

Some of her asides may be scripted, but she is perfectly capable of making astute off the cuff comments (eg the olden days quip).

Even though she can appear ditzy and self-deprecating, she is a very safe pair of hands.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 20/01/2024 14:54

I know it’s wrong but I’m really hoping for a traitor to stay in to the end of the fire pit this year just to see the look on the faithfuls’ faces when they lose. I know that probably makes me a terrible person 😁

feelingalittlehorse · 20/01/2024 14:56

If we are going off who I think deserves to win

Jaz- he’s clearly a very intelligent and astute guy and it’s a shame his fellow players have dismissed him
Harry- he has played a blinder
Andrew- I actually think he has played a good, but fair game. He’s not been as sly or calculating as Paul or Harry

Generationawesome · 20/01/2024 14:56

Placemarking!

ScribblingPixie · 20/01/2024 14:57

If I was betting, I'd guess Andrew will make it to the end and take the lot.

vincettenoir · 20/01/2024 14:58

Agree @commonground she is the perfect host. Her star has been rising for years and she is great at handling complex situations and providing light relief when necessary.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 20/01/2024 14:58

Lord Claud (as one of the DC calls her) also made me laugh with her comment. She’s an excellent host especially when she gets really into the missions.

Harry’s monologue to Andrew before recruiting Ross annoyed me and showed how cocky he’s become. He thinks he’s got it all worked out and fair enough he might be proved right, but at least pay lip service to your fellow traitors.

Someone remind me - Andrew wasn’t a traitor when Diane was killed was he? So not implicated in Ross’ Revenge?

DontBeAPrickDarren · 20/01/2024 14:59

I would like there to be a reveal about Ross and Diane while Jaz is still in it though so he can be publicly vindicated!

ScribblingPixie · 20/01/2024 15:01

Someone remind me - Andrew wasn’t a traitor when Diane was killed was he? So not implicated in Ross’ Revenge?

It was Paul, Miles and Harry - remember them faffing about in the library?

That’s what I thought. I can see him and Ross teaming up. Maybe Ross will confide the Diane thing in him to get him on side?

Fondantginger · 20/01/2024 15:04

I’m thinking Ross was talked into signing up to the traitors by the producers - he wasn’t keen then said ‘oh go on then!’ - I reckon they convinced him to use the Diane angle to his advantage.

theres always going to be slight manipulation like this in reality tv though - doesn’t stop it being an excellent show

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 20/01/2024 15:05

ThePoshUns · 20/01/2024 14:09

Ross looked so angry when Harry spoke about murdering Diane to 'put her in her place'.
It annoyed me as well with the casual misogyny

I think he's lost the game on that one comment

Generationawesome · 20/01/2024 15:05

Ross will either show he's smart or daft with his next move and how he handles this

TooOldForThisNonsense · 20/01/2024 15:06

SayNoToDoorToDoor · 20/01/2024 11:44

I think Ross will take down Harry because Harry is overconfident right now. Best tv would be Ross dropping hints about Harry, light bulb moment for Mollie who comes out of her shell and brings down Harry.

I think this too. Jaz is already suspicious about Harry. I expect Andrew and Ross will turn on Harry now. Ross will be in the mood to avenge his mother's murder.

I don’t think he actively thought that they need another male and there was no way they would recruit a female but I think this is a case of unconscious bias.

Agree. Part of Claudia's charm (and probably why she earns the big bucks at the BBC) is her quick wit. She's the queen of pithy, perfectly pitched one liners. Very smart and funny woman.
Yes, I am in love with her.

Babymamamama · 20/01/2024 14:31

I don’t actually understand why Ross is so angry his mum was murdered. Often people are taken out because they are smart or onto something... that’s the game surely or at least part of it.

I think he was more put out by how Harry worded it than the actual murder. Plus I think the edit with the long drawn out stare at Harry is just that, an edit to make him look more angry.

TitsInAbsentia · 20/01/2024 15:25

I love Claudia in this role, she really gets to shine rather than being the ditzy side kick to Tess (ugh) on Strictly. Claudia on panel shows is just gold! Plus if you've seen the presenters on the other shows (USA, Aus, NZ) you'd doubly appreciate her!

WhereAreWeNow · 20/01/2024 15:26

ScribblingPixie · 20/01/2024 13:50

I'm glad Claudia pointed out that all the traitors have been male (and white)

They haven't all been male or white.

I thought she was pointing out that everyone the traitors have chosen to recruit has been male. Which is true.
The only female traitor was Ash who was selected by Claudia/the production team. Harry and Paul made sure she was banished ASAP.
Claudia didn't comment on race. That's something that's been raised here.
