Omg amazing. I read all the books from age 12 - madness!

this is an interesting article on Andrews life and her mother: nypost.com/2022/03/12/flowers-author-vc-andrews-life-was-as-creepy-as-her-novels/

I'm halfway through Origins and soooo enjoying it. But so far they've strayed a fair bit from the Garden of Shadows book (also my favourite)

Olivia is MUCH nicer to Alicia in Origins than she was in the book. In fact she's much nicer in general.
They left out Olivia perving on Garland and Alicia shagging at the lake on a daily basis. It got her all hot and bothered and seething with envy in the book, hence the Alicia-hatred
I don't remember her supporting a young Corrine through a backstreet abortion in the book. Or them having much of a relationship at all. Again- envy at Malcolms attention on her.

Maybe they've left this until eps 3 & 4, but in the book one of her sons dies in a bike crash and the other, Joel I think, goes all holy-arse. And when does John Amos move in and start bible bashing?

I need to see the next 2 asap! Can't wait for Christopher to appear.

Oh yes- and Olivia's son Malcolm Jnr never flirted with a black guy in the book. Can't wait to see where that goes anyway.

I loved these books so much! Well up until the Dawn series, then they got a bit repetitive and boring. I found it odd how the same names were used in the books and also the same general themes. Anyone else think Virginia Andrews had a very disturbing childhood 🤔
