Honestly,they're so bad they're good 🤣

Lifetime movies, need I say more 😉

Lots of memories of reading these books at school, those books were well thumbed 😂😂

They're on Paramount.

Which version are you talking about?
The one with Heather Graham?
According to Google there's a new one that came/ comes out this year called Flowers In The Attic: The Origin

automne · 24/10/2022 14:07

Good god! Heaven was even weirder than FITC
The girl called Heavenly wasn't it.

@EHopes I can't believe we read all these at school!

automne · 24/10/2022 14:09

Though I don't think they stocked them in the school library. We passed them around between friends as a 'must read' a bit like the Judy Blume books.

JohnsShirt · 24/10/2022 14:09

She's called Heaven Leigh, which I though was a great name when I was about 12 😂

I probably thought the same 😀

@FrankTheThunderbird. I think that looks like a prequel about ´the grandmother' Olivia? Though if it's something different hopefully they'll do a better FITA

That's the remake of Garden of Shadows; the grandmothers pre story to Flowers in the attic. AFAIK it's not on Paramount yet! Waiting with bated breath! 😁😁

ShirleyHolmes · 24/10/2022 14:25

My dad removed by Forever book by Judy Blume. He let me keep FITA! 🤣

FrankTheThunderbird · 24/10/2022 14:26

Thanks. I thought it sounded like Garden of Shadows.

So which version are you all watching now because I'm sure I've seen more than 1.

Billybagpuss · 24/10/2022 14:31

I’ve been tempted to reread these, I do remember them getting increasingly more awful as the series went on. Yes to passing tatty copies around from as early as 2nd form. Year 8 ffs no way would I have been happy with my 12 year old reading them.

Cherrytree77 · 24/10/2022 14:46

VA books were the first adult books I read - my mum had loads - luckily age 10 most of the content went over my head!

The storylines are always the same but they are so trash they are brilliant.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/10/2022 16:25

I'm watching Heaven with half an eye while doing some work and mumsnetting ( multi tasking!) It's even worse than FITA !! Logan Stonewall!!!

JohnsShirt · 24/10/2022 16:51

I'm on the second one, the acting is hilarious 😂

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/10/2022 20:46

Omg Heaven was all about incest too , VA was obsessed by it!! Acting was really atrocious 🤣

I don’t think we have Paramount (is it an extra channel on Sky? We have the sports bundle I think) but after watching the Heather Graham film a few years back I bought all the books on Amazon and re-read them - tatty old paperbacks. I had kind of forgotten My Sweet Audrina and was truly agog at it.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/10/2022 21:02

Paramount not is a streaming service like Netflix, think sky customers get it free, we did but it's about £4 per month and you get a free trial.

Oh I loved these...what was the one with the house with all the clocks telling different times to make the girl not realise she was her dead sister who wasn't dead ?

If she doesn't have an affair with her brother/ grandad/ uncle I'm not interested 😉😂

@Theredjellybean that was My Sweet Audrina!

Theredjellybean · 24/10/2022 21:16

Oh I'm sure she does...I seem to recall the girl had been raped and the parents tried to block her memory of this by pretending a sister had died..who had the same name as her..and they gaslighted her...
It was bonkers..
I can see the MN thread now ,she would definitely be on the stately homes thread

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/10/2022 21:18

We have Sky Q. It looks like it’s an app on there. I need to investigate. I’m on holiday this week so it would be so perfect if I could have a day lying on the couch watching these!

Yes, you just need to make an account and sign in, easy! Speak into the remote ' get Paramount ' or find it on the apps and it's pretty self explanatory from there. There is a LOT of good crap on there 😂

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/10/2022 21:36

Hmm, it is part of Sky Cinema which we don’t pay for. However it looks like I can do a free seven day trial through Prime! I need to wait for DP to show me how to cancel it before I do anything though, because I have poor form in this.

I am very excited now!

HeadAboveTheParapet · 24/10/2022 21:39

Oh good a thread where I can admit I've watched all of these films.
Couldn't say that IRL!

I can't believe it was standard reading as a young teen.
I'd not be happy with my teen reading it now - such a hypocrite!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/10/2022 21:50

I AM IN!
