I’m rewatching earlier seasons as well at the moment. I really liked Owen when he first arrived, where did the writers go so wrong??

RoachTheHorse · 06/11/2022 18:06

Owen started going wrong after Christina. Now if they'd stayed together...

The whole thing with teddy is just messy and stupid. Get him back doing trauma runs with pretend accidents in the parking lot

I liked this episode although it had a feel of House to me with them all battling for a diagnosis!

As soon as I heard "non blanching rash" I knew the answer and I have zero mes background.

BackT · 08/11/2022 21:41

I'm liking this season. Which is actually strange as i basically dislike most of the characters.

Maggie and her husband are terrible. No chemistry and no depth to the characters at all.

Owen and Teddy are just annoying. At least he isn't "attack kissing" anymore though. I'd be a nervous wreck if he was my boyfriend.

Hoping Helm come back. Schmitt is being put into the "George" slot.

Whatwouldscullydo · 09/11/2022 22:44

Some good humour in this week's episode. Kai is still as pointless as ever.

But I hope I am not alone when I say - wtf is the obsession with feet these days .🤮

That is all.

burnoutbabe · 09/11/2022 22:46

It was very political. I mean I agree with the politics but it's white heavy handed.

But yeah to Addison as ever, love her.

Whatwouldscullydo · 09/11/2022 22:57

Yy I love Addison.

Was also nice to see schmitt not be the " class joke" for 2 seconds and be an actual dr who handled the young girl surprisingly well given his usual role of being ridiculous. More of that please!

AllLopsided · 09/11/2022 23:30

I had heard that it's on Disney... WTF? We don't have Disney!

We do) have an Amazon fire stick which has off-piste access to many shows but the definition and colour quality - and sometimes the streaming quality - can be poor. So can't decide whether to wait for the DVD (I know no one watches DVDs anymore but my choices are limited!

burnoutbabe · 02/11/2022 18:08

Yes I enjoyed episode 2.

Maggie was crap to her husband, treating him like a junior. I suppose he is, she is his boss after all (I think)

Is this the first time helm acknowledged she is gay?

No she had a crush on Meredith for a couple of seasons

burnoutbabe · 10/11/2022 07:53

Yeah I removed the crush but that started as hero worship more. It was never acknowledged as she fancied meridith or liked women.

MissHavershamReturns · 10/11/2022 09:09

I quite liked this episode, though I was irritated by the Zola as gifted storyline. Surely she needs proper assessment for her anxiety and school refusal.

Just ditch Kai please.

The whole Roe v Wade storyline was so right they did it and so accurate, but I felt a bit irrationally annoyed as I like Greys for the escapism.

What the kids neeed is to probably spend time with kids through own age. They all spend far ton much time with far to many adults who are never in their lives very long or who put themselves in situations where they will get hurt or in trouble with the police or act like idiots so their flavour of the month the kids are attached ro after being used for baby sitting duties so someone can simply not come home of an evening/night time dumps them.

Perhaps some stability and time with other kids would help

MissHavershamReturns · 10/11/2022 11:54

@Whatwouldscullydo in the last episode poor Zola thought everyone was going to die. Surely not just “aha she’s gifted!”

Whatwouldscullydo · 10/11/2022 12:06

Of course she thinks everyone's going to die. Because she sounds far to much time in a hospital and everyone she knows has died or nearly died because they all have some hero complex which has gone beyond protecting patients as a dr to what In some instances could almost be considered suicidal. And of course there's the alzehimers which she will know her mum has and may develope at some point but it also took her mum.away from her when she went to minesota. So kill or cure she lost her mum to these diseases anyway for significant periods of time. They all over share with the kids too. They know far to much about what goes on and they arent old eviugh to really understand so it all must seem darker than it actually is.

MissHavershamReturns · 10/11/2022 19:27

@Whatwouldscullydo never mind the trauma that Zola would have been caused by losing her mother, being very ill as a baby. And then being adopted. Lots of early life trauma.

Whatwouldscullydo · 10/11/2022 22:39

Yes there's no boundaries or awareness at all with GA children. Its a major flaw in the show tbh.

Thats what got me with the Leo situation. Baby iof a teenage drug addict taken in by ex drug addiction abandoned by the mother passed between amelia link Owen and Teddy and the only therapy ever mentioned was for owen and Teddy to accept him as a girl 🙄

Justme10 · 10/11/2022 23:15

I want Addison back forever, I love her!

I'm still really enjoying this season and for once I like all of the interns.
I thought they done the story really well this week.

I love Addison too. Amelia was much better in PP and the earlier seasons of when she was on Greys.

I’ll watch the latest episode after the school run, then be back with opinions, but I feel it’s just going to piss me off Grin

They’ve got a tonne of money between them, get the child a decent shrink, a fancy school and a Nanny ffs.

MrsFionaCharming · 11/11/2022 11:58

Greys has always done politics, but it was so much smoother and less preachy about it in the earlier seasons. I think a surgical emergency correcting the damage done by a botched abortion would have made the same point without beating us over the head with it as well as being a more interesting storyline.

MrsFionaCharming · 11/11/2022 16:10

Got to the end of the episode and I was stuck under a breastfeeding baby. Disney suggested I watch Station19, which I’ve always resisted because I don’t like Ben Warren. Figured I’d give it a go and have really enjoyed the first two episodes. Even DH who hates Greys liked the bits he saw.

30not13 · 12/11/2022 17:53

Really enjoying this season, almost gave up after the previous one!
It really feels like it's gone back to basics, another 5 to carry on the series for years to come.

Get rid of Owen and Teddy though please.........

Nice to see Harry Shum from Glee too :)

I didn't watch glee, I don't think I've actually seen him in anything before but I love him!
He's so beautiful and I can't believe he is 40!

THATS where I recognise him from.

MissHavershamReturns · 19/11/2022 21:07

I liked the latest episode. Seemed bit more like vintage greys.

bonkersbirdie · 19/11/2022 23:03

Hmm. It was a bit too try hard for me. Remember the episode where the two hospitals merged and they had to find the "gunther"? And the one where hunt stabbed the pigs and had them doing surgery on them? Or the trauma training in the rain in the ambulance bay where April used the ambulance and won? All excellent episodes. This was like a poor shadow of those 3 merged into one. I think my problem is nothing they do now is ever going to live up to how it was because it's just lost it's edge. Which is a shame. But I will still watch it because I've been here from the start and I have hope that it might be good again.

LovelyBitOfSquirrel69 · 20/11/2022 18:54

I'm really confused. Since when was Amelia gay??
