Starting on the 26th October but will exclusively be on Disney+.

Greys anatomy season 19

Oh yes I see. Yeah I agree I don't know who would pick a late night flight when they could go in the morning.
Odd because it wasn't even necessary, the storyline could have gone on as it did without Ben and Bailey leaving and coming back. I guess it gave Bailey the chance to give Ben the award.

Ooh yes I liked the station 19 episode. I hope Jack survives.

I think Bailey missed her commercial flight because of the floor collapse, but was able to catch a lift with Catherine on the private jet.

I hope Jack and Teddy aren’t currently meeting in the Seattle Grace near-death elevator 😀

WhyDoesItAlways · 01/06/2023 23:39

I really like teddy as chief, she's really redeemed herself.

Not looking forward to another Webber drinking story. I really liked the episode where he sold his chips for booze then smashed the bar up but I don't want to see him go that way again.

I wonder if we'll see Trey appear again. I didn't know he was also a surgeon. Had they mentioned that before?

SheilaFentiman · 01/06/2023 23:56

He was on Simone’s original training programme but didn’t support her through the sexism/racism which led to her leaving it.

SheilaFentiman · 01/06/2023 23:56

Yes! Teddy is doing good!

BlackAndWhiteUsername · 02/06/2023 13:22

Just found this thread 👋

For the past few seasons I really haven't cared about any of the interns, but I think they've done a fab job this season of giving them personalities and I actually feel invested in them.

Glad to see less of Meredith tbh,

Just watched finale yesterday!

I do hope Simone and nephew Shepard don't end up off again it annoys me when they do all the will they won't they, then a big story gets them together then something relatively small keeps them apart!

Hoping teddy survives I quite like her these days actually. Owen annoys me but I can kind of ignore him now.

Agree that I don't want a Richard drinking storyline and Amelia was very croaky

I think greys has really redeemed itself this season, I can't wait till season 20

WhyDoesItAlways · 02/06/2023 13:53

I think Amelia is the most annoying of the annoying characters. She's just so whiny and self centered. Even Meredith's Alzheimer's research she's managed to make an issue for her because it undoes Derek's work - like Meredith wouldn't have considered that!

SheilaFentiman · 02/06/2023 14:52

I love Amelia but Lord, they write her inconsistently. One second she wants to be out of Derek’s shadow, the next, she wants him on a pedestal.

It is also extreme bollocks that Meredith, a general surgeon, suddenly spots this thing and runs it past two other general surgeons, a transplant surgeon, two cardiologists, a urologist and… just the one neurosurgeon!

Also; was the presidential project on Alzheimer’s? Because the only other research I remember Derek doing was the aborted trial where Meredith tampered and so he would never have published.

whosaidtha · 02/06/2023 14:58

@RightWhereYouLeftMe in think the same. I can't understand why there are no normal drs in the hospital. These surgeons do loads of jobs that are not surgeon's responsibility and would be over seen by a normal medical dr. Even things that turn into surgeries should definitely start with a normal medical dr. Especially in the er.

I really enjoyed the finale although I agree I would rather Owen died and I don't want another Richard drinking storyline.
Also I do a bit feel the runaway bride was done before with April. And how many times do these interns need to take on tasks that are way to advanced for them and end up fucking up. Surely they should be fired.

SheilaFentiman · 02/06/2023 15:26

I think the Lucas situation will be different to the Schmitt situation because Sam was dying and Altman was coding.

Kwan will get away with it because Jules and her friend won’t make a complaint.

The surgeons doing everything (but yet it being fine for three of them to go get a heart!) has always been a symptom of greys

SheilaFentiman · 02/06/2023 15:27

I’m going to put money on someone stopping Richard - maybe amelia popping back for her jacket or something.

I think Derek was doing brain mapping for the president.

SheilaFentiman · 02/06/2023 16:11

Yeah, so not sure why amelia was all “you are stomping on his legacy in Alzheimer’s!”

SheilaFentiman · 02/06/2023 18:22

I would have preferred it (and it would have been more logical!) if Amelia had been “no
way, professor X was key to that theory, she taught me at Stanford and she was brilliant”

I'm slightly getting out of my area here but I don't think a neurosurgeon would be behind the plaque research for Alzheimer's anyway. A neurologist maybe, but I think (from my limited memory of studying Alzheimer's at uni) it was a molecular biologist who came up with it.

But then, they all do all sorts in greys. My particular favourite was Bailey (who is "just" a surgeon) out of nowhere doing actual gene editing with HIV! Surely this is the kind of thing done by geneticists in specialist labs, not surgeons in regular hospitals who just do it off the cuff.

Probably shouldn't think this much about it!

Ha! Yeah, I was thinking that about how GSM surgeons can apparently do all bench research, data analysis et. etc.. it was refreshing when the Parkinson’s project had some actual research scientists on it.

SavBlancTonight · 03/06/2023 11:14

It's hard to express how much that last episode had annoyed me.

When I was a teenager, I used to.watxh these terrible American soap operas like Bold and the Beautiful and Loving. Greys has more in common with those shows now than with the other show I loved as a teenager- ER.

So Teddy has a toothache and then she's shouting at everyone in the theatre and just collapses? Ffs. Plus let's not even get started on the 500 people in life threatening situations on that show, all wel uunder the ages of 40.

As for the wedding, it would have been cute maybe if this isn't about the 4th time someone has abandoned their wedding at the altar on this show. Get some new ideas people.

Maggie and Winston.... argh. So bloody boring.

Linc and Jo were the only two who didn't annoy me intensely.

BlackAndWhiteUsername · 03/06/2023 17:49

Also I couldn't remember who had declared their love, Lincoln or Jo, and who it was that had last rejected the others advances

pastabest · 03/06/2023 18:48

Wasn't there some rule after the big plane crash that there couldn't be X amount of staff on a flight at once?

pastabest · 03/06/2023 18:48

There was the whole court case, hospital bankruptcy, change of procedures storyline ....

But I think that was because they were on hospital business - going to collect an organ. This was just a jolly.

That was probably for hospital flights eg arranged by the hospital. Rather than Catherine's private jet. It was to do with Arizona taking Alex's place on the plane voiding the insurance, which is why the hospital had to be sold.

Yeah, it was to do with the number of senior attendings or something.

jay55 · 03/06/2023 21:04

I feel like runaway brides are a greys tradition, like someone fucking up the turkey on a Christmas special.
So I was happy to have it and plane trouble at the same time.

However, I don't think anyone ever believed the wedding was going to happen so there was zero jeopardy.

Agree with others who don't want to see Richard booze battle again. He should have stuck to the cbd, and pinched more of his wifes supply.

RightWhereYouLeftMe · 03/06/2023 21:15

I agree. It was much less obvious that Burke would walk away from Christina, or that April would run away with Jackson - I mean, not complete surprises but Simone was never going to marry that guy!
