Starting on the 26th October but will exclusively be on Disney+.

Greys anatomy season 19

It’s been a while since a main character died at Seattle Grace Mercy Death. De Luca was the last, I think.

WhyDoesItAlways · 19/03/2023 13:05

That's what I'm thinking. Some sort of abortion protest gone wrong. Maybe Maggie will be a patient having an abortion because she's pregnant with Winston but having a baby after they've split up doesn't fit with her perfect life narrative.

SheilaFentiman · 19/03/2023 13:15

I don’t think greys would kill Maggie in the course of an abortion, that would trash the pro choice messages given to date.

WhyDoesItAlways · 19/03/2023 16:46

I was thinking more her being caught up in a protest rather than a procedure going wrong. The show have been clearly trying to show how simple the procedures are so don't think they will do anything to undo that.

I'll stop speculating now and will just have to be patient and watch it.

I enjoyed Station 19 this week.

Owen and Teddy sure do snipe a lot for people who apparently have loved each other forever!

SheilaFentiman · 23/03/2023 18:03

Remember when Cristina was prepared to give Owen to Teddy to get better surgical training? Ah, good times!

NotLactoseFree · 23/03/2023 19:06

Teddy and Owen are another two characters who have become awful. It's so sad.

Justme10 · 23/03/2023 21:04

I've never been a fan of Teddy but I really liked Owen when he first came in to it, it's a shame what they have done to him.

I don't understand either of them any more.
The ever changing backstory does my head in.
They needed to die in that car crash.

On the strength of this thread, I've gone back and watched this season of both GA and Station 19. I like the new interns - I think it failed before because the focus was too much on the older characters, where all the interesting ones have left already and the remaining ones have become too preachy and have nowhere left to go in terms of development. The new ones are a good reset, even if the writers are basically doing the same stories all over again.
S19 is enjoyable but I wish they'd stay off the preachy shit too. Carina told a pregnant woman the sex of her baby and the writers couldn't resist a 'if that's how he identifies' comment. Fuck off with that already!

SheilaFentiman · 02/04/2023 22:11

Oh, I enjoyed the latest one!

vjg13 · 03/04/2023 07:56

It is much better when the focus is on the new interns.

Ridley10 · 12/04/2023 15:45

@ImAvingOops, I hated that. When Carina scanned for the sex of the baby and added the comment about identifying at the end. How twatty.

I really dislike Maggie. She’s cold and uncaring and plain moany. Surely Winston could move to another hospital.

I’m glad to see they’re covering the abortion issue as I do think it’s really important.

I am annoyed that Owen is still in it. He’s a total dick and completely annoying.

Blenheimprincess · 12/04/2023 17:33

Hmm, so isMeredith JUST voiceover now? Weird. I like the pro choice story lines.

jay55 · 13/04/2023 14:49

Maggie gets worse and worse each week. Her husband is so hot and lovely and has been utterly ruined by her whining and coldness.

I'd love Addison to come back and take over chief from Teddy. Teddy and Owen can relocate to some remote spot and not be heard from again. The scenes with Addison and Bailey have been great.

ImAvingOops · 13/04/2023 16:08

Teddy and Owen are so dull and don't contribute anything positive to the storylines. Maggie is also bland. Addison and Bailey are great, and along with the interns are the ones holding GA up. The writers need to give Amelia something better - the relationship with the non binary character, whose name I've forgotten, doesn't feel real or interesting enough to hold attention.
I miss Callie and Arizona and Alex.
I like Richard very much but again I think he needs some interesting storylines. It's like the writers have run out of ideas for him - I think they could have done more with his and Maggie's relationship.

WeWereInParis · 13/04/2023 18:04

I agree. I think it's because Kai (?) isn't there very much so it's mainly phone calls and references but not that many scenes together. I keep forgetting Amelia is even in a relationship.

DeeofDenmark · 13/04/2023 19:12

I’ve just watched private practice and Amelia got some great storylines in that. Would be good to a bit more depth to her agai

jay55 · 13/04/2023 19:29

Agree Amelia is being wasted. All she does is pop by, say something bland and disappear again.

pastabest · 13/04/2023 20:18

I think the new interns are great. I'm genuinely interested in how their stories are developing and the relationship between NephewMcDreamy and
engageddoctor is back to the flippy tummy feelings of early Derek and Meredith / Japril

Schmidt is filling the hole that was left by George but more maturely.

the two other female interns that aren't engaged doctor have the same competitiveness as Mer/ Christina.

I REALLY need to learn their names.

Bailey is awesome. Addisons face was slightly less frozen due to her needing to be badass. Teddy and Owen didn't get much screen time. It was a good episode.

I agree with all of this (including that I really need to learn the new interns' names). I've really enjoyed the last two episodes. I hope Addison comes back more.

Maybe I'll go back and rewatch private practice.

SheilaFentiman · 14/04/2023 14:43

Lucas (Nephew McDreamy)
Simone (engaged)
Mika (prob going to smooch Helm)
Jules (shagged Kwan, teased Simone about Lucas)
Kwan (shagged Jules, passed out at the blood spurting penis)

Yep, she’s massively sidelined. How about making something of her advising Maggie about Winston? Also… she never sees Leo, and you would think she would, for Betty.

AngeloMysterioso · 19/04/2023 23:23

Another good one this week. Actually can’t wait for Maggie to F.O.

I am getting a bit bored of Jo and Linc’s will they won’t they thing though, it’s dragging! Just get together already!

WeWereInParis · 20/04/2023 02:33

I liked the Bailey and Carina bit in this week's Station 19.

Haven't seen this week's Grey's yet - I keep forgetting Jo and Linc aren't already together, half the time they act like they are and I can't remember the situation.
