In the continued absence of Dr Who and the luscious David Tennant, I am looking forward to Torchwood tonight and the almost as gorgeous Captain Jack. Bring it on!

We need a "hands behind back, whistling to self" smiley.

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/01/2008 19:39

ds is watching the kiddy friendly version now

Dottydot · 23/01/2008 21:56

It wasn't half as camptastic tonight was it??! (actually I was quite scared )

MrsTweedy · 23/01/2008 21:58

I thought it was very humdrum and (ripped off Bladerunner obv.)

JNo · 23/01/2008 21:59

I thought it was sad. And I thought the woman who played Beth was excellent.

Dottydot · 23/01/2008 21:59

Ah well it doesn't take much to scare me and I've never seen Bladerunner...

Desiderata · 23/01/2008 21:59

Anyone else just lost their digital reception on all channels?

Desiderata · 23/01/2008 22:03

Ah, as you were.

I employed the old highly techno trick of switching it off at the mains and turning it on again

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/01/2008 22:26

I found it a bit disturbing and sad

Dottydot · 23/01/2008 22:27

I did - it was too gory and depressing...

Yaddayah · 23/01/2008 22:30

I think it might be on BBC3 past 11pm tonight
If not kid friendly version next wednesday 7pm

jezzemx · 23/01/2008 22:44

Very dramatic and some scenes were quite horrific.
BUT its great
Yadda I hope they don't repeat it next week. They repeated lasts weeks at 7pm tonight and it didn't look as if they had taken any scenes out to make it kid friendly.
DD has been on at me for ages to watch it she's only 8 and she couldn't watch it.
IF they do try to delete scenes from tonights episode they will only have about 7 minutes of viewing suitable for kids

Fubsy · 23/01/2008 22:49

I couldnt spot any missing bits in the repeat. DD(6) thought it was funny when Jack and John were snogging, but got a bit bored later on.

She was a bit worried when John and Jack kissed again at the end, in case John had his poisoned lip gloss on, and wanted to know if John was going to be in it again!

(My daughter the fag hag

Dont think she'll like the 2nd ep tho, unless its heavily cut.

She had hysterics watching Primeval on Sat, when Connor's head disappeared into the giant worm.

Still insists on watching these things though!

Fubsy · 23/01/2008 22:50

Jezzemix, tonites ep is repeated at 7pm tomorrow.

UnquietDad · 23/01/2008 22:52

I didn't think it was very good. Rather too obsessed with what 14-year-old boys think horror is. And what's with all the baby-slaughter? Bit of a lack of parent-empathy going on over at Wood HQ?

MrsTweedy · 23/01/2008 22:54

Also thought the arm dagger was a rip-off from whatshisname oh Adam that the Initiative built in Buffy.

Maybe I'm just peeved there was no sign of Spike

UnquietDad · 23/01/2008 23:01

Also from Terminator 2, mrstweedy...

MrsTweedy · 23/01/2008 23:07

Tchah! of course!!!
