@eglantine7 What a performance! I wouldn't even class him as a rapper, I think he has his own genre. He really is something special, on a different level altogether. Can't wait to see him in November. Glad you enjoyed as much as I did :)

Kendrick Lamar was stunning, still thinking about it this morning. Definitely my favourite Glastonbury set this year.

Anjelika · 27/06/2022 11:25

Didn't see Diana Ross but just heard a live track from Glasto on Ken Bruce and see what you all mean about her voice.

Loved PSB. Both of them look amazing. NT's voice was fabulous. West End Girls is still such a great song. I was 20 when I first heard it.

SwedishEdith · 27/06/2022 11:36

Presumably they have all the audio feeds recorded from the various mic inputs and they've revalanced it to turn the vocal mic volume up or the instrument mics volume down or whatever. I'm not technician.

The volume of his voice kept dropping in and out on Saturday night so it did look like some sort of mixing issue.

PSB definitely do a great show party-style, no doubt about it. And have a lot of hits. But I find Neil Tennant's voice a little flat, as in not much range, and the songs all have the same tempo. So it feels a bit like you're listening to a Jive Bunny medley 😀

MaMaLa321 · 27/06/2022 11:40

very cleverly the PSB have released 4 extra tour dates in the UK - I've just got tickets for Wembley

TheSonjaMorgan · 27/06/2022 12:00

Haven't read all this thread but has Roisin Murphy been mentioned? Thought she was amazing, loved her set, have watched it twice. What a voice!

MarshaBradyo · 27/06/2022 12:57

R6 still playing it brilliant

Love Billie Eilish

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 27/06/2022 13:03

I saw PSB at Cardiff. They were brilliant. Basically the same set they played last night but with more songs that they cut for time last night.

Jealousy
Single Bilingual/ Se a vide E medley

are ones I can remember off the top of my head.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 27/06/2022 13:04

You only tell me you love me when you're drunk - acoustic.

littlbrowndog · 27/06/2022 13:42

Kendrick was my fav. It really helped putting on sub titles. Then reading a bit about him

I put her on when I went to bed last night. She was amazing! Her outfits and accessories were off the wall though!
Love it how they started backstage and made their way on to the stage.
Really enjoyed it though

My kids love KL so he was on while I messed around on my phone... Fuck! He was incredible, I'm old enough to be his actual gran but I found him spellbinding. Definitely my fave this year

lollipoprainbow · 27/06/2022 19:17

Just catching up on Diana Ross oh dear !

eglantine7 · 27/06/2022 19:26

Herbie Hancock and a gorgeous young country singer called Kacey Musgrave

Yes, it was all a bit weird wasn't it? She did the hits though, gave the audience what they wanted I guess.

Snippit · 27/06/2022 20:51

Yep, absolute stars, I loved them. So many great hits from The Pet Shop Boys, takes me back. I used to do an aerobics routine to one of them, I still remember all the steps to it, 😝🤓

Snippit · 27/06/2022 20:57

Shocking, I only knew the words as my youth club used to play her albums time after time over the tannoy system 😩, talk about being brain washed 🤓. When she asked the crowd to sing along it wasn’t very successful, poor Diana Ross.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 27/06/2022 20:59

Well, as my old dad used to say, God loves a trier. And Diana Ross did try really hard and was great with the crowd. And she was there on time!

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2022 21:31

I wonder who they are lining up in the legend slot for next year? Anyone got any suggestions?

megletthesecond · 27/06/2022 21:39

Duran haven't played Glasto yet sparkling. They must count as legends now.

SwedishEdith · 27/06/2022 21:45

My eldest has just come back and said Diana Ross was the best act 😀

I'd love Kate Bush to do it (not the legend, but main act) but I'm sure she never will. Donny Osmond could do it!

They're in their sixties so maybe a bit young? Grin I wonder why they've never done Glastonbury. I know Nick Rhodes doesn't like leaving the city much...

woodhill · 27/06/2022 21:51

Ma ca and Noel Gallagher

I will try and catchup with Crowded House and Elbow

The best act? Shock Who else did they see?

Off to bed.
thanks Punkypinky for starting the thread, it’s been great.
The Glastonbury magic worked- we had no bun fights!
see you all next year

Glad people enjoyed it ☺️. I'm on holiday now so haven't watched any gigs today. Excited to watch Pet Shop boys when I get home next week. Lots of new stuff to look for thanks to this thread.

How about Debbie Harry for the legend slot? What's she up to these days?
