"If he's a perfectionist he must realise that his live voice is not what it was, and yet he still wants to do it? "

Yes but I suppose no one is being forced to watch? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess so. It's a good job his fans aren't as picky. Grin

Feels like, despite having all the iPlayer channels, we're seeing less stuff than in years gone by but maybe I just have higher expectations. This sort of event is always good when you know lots of people are watching at the same time. To talk over at the water cooler next day. Which is much more rare these days.

I don't think they do show as much these days. I can remember when all the bbc channels showed bits during the day but that doesn't seem to happen now. I guess they'd get complaints if it took over all the channels today.

Cassimin · 27/06/2022 00:08

Off to bed.
thanks Punkypinky for starting the thread, it’s been great.
The Glastonbury magic worked- we had no bun fights!
see you all next year

Now Dh tells me Basil Brush was on!!!!

Really?! I think he was on the Jubilee celebration thing as well. Perhaps he's going on tour?

I think that PSB set was possibly the best I've ever seen at Glastonbury on the TV. (Nothing will beat being there in 1995 when Pulp stepped in for The Stone Roses - an absolute moment in time).

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2022 06:44

The PSBs were really really good.
Top set.

eglantine7 · 27/06/2022 08:20

Kendrick Lamar, I'm still speechless!
I have his albums so appreciate others may not but please watch it, especially the end.

FootontheHeartbreak · 27/06/2022 08:38

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 26/06/2022 23:52

Pet Shop Boys were great. It was funny when the technical glitch meant Chris Lowe was hidden and Where's Chris was trending on Twitter.

I'm about to go to bed but I've just put Paul McCartney on again. I am deffo going to watch the whole set again. I think they might've tweaked the sound. His vocal sounds a lot louder.

I thought they tweaked the sound too. I wondered if that is why it took so long to be uploaded to iplayer. I think there was something wrong with his microphone initially.

Is Jarvis worth a watch?

I thought he was great!
Bit arty farty though but still very good

Thanks I'll see if I can find him today. But firstly I'm going to watch PSB all again. Grin

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2022 09:46

I always liked the PSBs and it's good they still have lots of appeal and still touring.
I need to catch up with a few I've missed like Jamie T. Interesting that they may have ' tweaked ' Paul McCartney's set. Bit naughty really if it's true.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 27/06/2022 10:06

Presumably they have all the audio feeds recorded from the various mic inputs and they've revalanced it to turn the vocal mic volume up or the instrument mics volume down or whatever. I'm not technician.

I don't think they've redubbed it! Just adjusted the volume balances which really should've been done in the sound check beforehand.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 27/06/2022 10:07

Rebalanced! Nothing to do with sheets 🙄

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2022 10:10

I’m not sure we needed Macca any louder TBH. 😂

FMSucks · 27/06/2022 10:18

@eglantine7 What a performance! I wouldn't even class him as a rapper, I think he has his own genre. He really is something special, on a different level altogether. Can't wait to see him in November. Glad you enjoyed as much as I did :)

Alright Paul.

If you read the threads, there have been a lot of posters (including me) slating Paul, so take your personal beefs off the thread.

Peace and love peeps, see you next year! Loved these threads Smile

Yes actually that's a more likely contender Grin

eglantine7 · 27/06/2022 10:37

@FMSucks I saw him live too 6 years ago but I felt very old in the crowd 😅 I think I'd feel less that way at Glastonbury but I can't deal with camping and toilets any more
Kendrick is definitely a rapper but absolutely a talented Artist and in another league. The best of this generation for sure.

Ds2 is a massive KL fan and seeing him in November. It's odd that I just can't get into that type of music at all. I'm not sure why.
Little simz was good though , again not really my thing but she put on a good performance and was funny too. Less angry than KL, a bit more chilled but still with a lot to say.
KL had some good reviews.
