I know I’m very late to the party and I’m sure there are other threads though I couldn’t see one. But bloody hell! It’s absolutely incredible. Heard there was a new season starting so went to the beginning to see if it was any good. I didn’t like League of Gebtleman so didn’t have high hopes. Binged the first season in a couple of evenings and can’t wait for more. Anyone else love it? Does it stay as great through s2 and beyond?

Yes one of the better ones of this series 7

clever twist

likes 1&4

dosing like 2&3

tho for the first time I think ever they had different locations

usually - well always in one venue

we had home office kidnappers lair

thats never happened before has it

I read an article where they said they could have different locations at the start but once the characters were inside 'no.9' they couldn't then leave that location

Loved Ep 5- Jessica Hynes is one of my favourite actresses and has been since Spaced. It was great they gave her a meaty, emotional role.
I am very mixed about Ep 6- it was well done, but I think it is the most upset I’ve been by IN9.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2022 11:51

The "Wise Owl" episode had parallels with "Sardines" ( Ser 1 Ep 1)

The heavily implied sexual abuse of a boy by an adult male

Saucery · 04/06/2022 19:41

Oh my, that was the best one of this series. I am of the vintage to remember those films and we still say “Charlie says…….” in a righteous little voice whenever something could be dangerous.

If anyone has seen the film Possum it really reminded me of that. Old wrongs committed rise again.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/06/2022 20:12

Safety films are the one thing guaranteed to transport me to childhood.

Still water? Mantrap? The ones with the trains? Terrifying. Charlie says too. (And aye - me and the siblings still do that too)

It was a standout episode which was brilliant but left me empty all in a oneser.

Twit me.

It's interesting to compare to filmd- it's just astonishing how much they can pack into 30 minutes.

KimikosNightmare · 04/06/2022 21:46

films (obviously)

DrMadelineMaxwell · 04/06/2022 23:33

Aaaand I've just realised that I've got the last 3 episodes to catch up on at some point! I've been busy watching other things and forgot to check for new ones. :)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/06/2022 00:15

This series has been pretty good , I was not enamoured of the last series , only like the LipReader one .
I really hoped they'd call time after the Prom one ..............but they;ve come back on form Grin
I watched Bernie Cliftons Dressing Room yesterday , love that one .

LosingTheWill2022 · 05/06/2022 11:00

Wise Owl was brilliant.
They captured the style of those safety films perfectly and created such an ominous atmosphere. How do they manage to tell a story that covers decades in the space of a 30 min episode. Bloody clever.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 05/06/2022 12:38

All caught up now! And I really enjoyed the last 3 episodes. Very well done. I love this series for the twists and turns.

I expected a final twist at the end of Wise Owl. It's very clever as always, the way it can slowly, bit-by-bit imply and hint at major plot information rather than just presenting it boldly.

Saucery · 05/06/2022 12:58

Stephen King says in the introduction to one of his short story collections (Skeleton Crew?) that a novel is like a full blown love affair but a short story is a kiss in the dark. Inside No 9 is the televisual equivalent of that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2022 19:48

Will watch 5&6 tonight

finally home

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 08/06/2022 19:54

Welcome home blondes 🙂

I would say ‘enjoy!’ But I’m not sure that would be the right thing to say. 🥴

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2022 23:56

Obviously I’m a heartless blondes as didn’t think much of e5

this series doesn’t seem as good as the other 6 🥲

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2022 03:42

Where as e6 was very good. Wise owl the abusing father 🥲

TitsInAbsentia · 12/12/2022 20:06

Christmas special incoming!! Can't remember now if it was 22 or 23 but really looking forward to it ❤

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/12/2022 12:00

Yah

tv mags for Xmas must be out soon

SpottyStripyDuvet · 13/12/2022 15:12

I think Reece Shearsmith tweeted to say it is on 22nd at 9pm

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 22/12/2022 23:23

Anyone watched it yet and ready to discuss?

VivienneDelacroix · 22/12/2022 23:25

I've seen it. Not sure if it was very clever or just grim.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 22/12/2022 23:35

I am rarely disappointed by the show but I was very underwhelmed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/12/2022 23:38

Marking place , I watched the first couple of minutes till the bauble fell off the tree ( I thought it was going to have Papa Lazarou's face Xmas Shock ) but I thought "No , don't watch this alone at nearly midnight ! "
