I know I’m very late to the party and I’m sure there are other threads though I couldn’t see one. But bloody hell! It’s absolutely incredible. Heard there was a new season starting so went to the beginning to see if it was any good. I didn’t like League of Gebtleman so didn’t have high hopes. Binged the first season in a couple of evenings and can’t wait for more. Anyone else love it? Does it stay as great through s2 and beyond?

Oh my God! I remember watching 12 days of christine and wondering what was going on and where it was going . The end really upset me and I watched it again immediately. I cried like a baby at the end, especially Jack being an angel for the nativity and saying goodbye (getting chocked up again thinking about it!)Second time watching I picked up on so many subtle clues and background noises that hint what is to come.

Brilliant acting from the whole cast and awesome writing and directing.
One, if not the best pieces of drama on TV in only 30 minutes.

Posted twice. I got a MN message saying there was an error posting!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/04/2022 17:35

I think everyone needs to watch all twice

once you know the story you see the clues that has been cleverly shown

Spot on, I have to do that with every episode! First time, you’re looking for the reveal or twist, and can miss so much in the process.

Second time, you’re looking for what you missed the first time.

Anyone watched "Mr King"?
It's a bit WickerMan Shock

Arcadia · 27/04/2022 22:51

Just watched it. Thought I was a bit silly!

Name99 · 28/04/2022 10:04

I'm a big number 9 fan, but didn't enjoy that episode at all

colourmebladd · 28/04/2022 12:07

They used the Wicker Man quote “you did it beautifully” also used in LOG.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 28/04/2022 18:01

To quote my neighbour (who loves tLOG and no9 as much as I do)
”there was an awful lot of cock in it”

I got more than a whiff of tLOG about it and it would have made my day if one of the kids was called Radclyffe….

And legzakimbo were playing the festival music. 🐸

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 28/04/2022 20:30

Mr King gave me a headache. It was too dark for me. Not sure I will watch any more as I don't like horror.

I have watched a few from previous series which weren't as bad as Mr King.

Saucery · 28/04/2022 20:36

Hmm, no, not keen on that one. I can see what they were trying to do, but tying sexual abuse of children into a whimsical oh dear, silly teacher got the wrong end of the stick! storyline didn’t sit well with me. He’d have been straight on the phone to the LADO/safeguarding team, not the bumbling headmaster. And photos of cocks as a signpost for fertility rites…….yawn.
Can’t beat a good Paper Plate Mask though Grin

Name99 · 28/04/2022 21:13

I spotted the hare though!

blockybop · 28/04/2022 21:29

I liked it! I thought it was ambiguous as to whether he actually had been inappropriate with the girl and maybe just got his comeuppance..

LizzieSiddal · 28/04/2022 22:42

No didn’t like this one. Felt sorry for the child actors having to act in this tbh.

LizzieSiddal · 28/04/2022 22:42

Mind you I may listen tot their podcast to find out their reasoning behind it all.

EmmaH2022 · 28/04/2022 22:54

I absolutely adore Inside No 9. Pp mentioned Tom and Gerri, definitely one of my favourites.

I watch Zanzibar when I need cheering up.

Probably my favourite is Death Be Not Proud. I had never seen Psychoville, so everything about that episode was a joyful surprise, especially this

HeartshapedFox · 28/04/2022 23:06

Can we talk about The Harrowing episode? (the one with Helen McRory from series 1 or 2) Because that stayed with me for ages.
I’ve been a fan for years, through the League and Psychoville etc but for some reason I felt traumatised after watching that one.
I’ve only seen it once but still remember them describing how the demon will possess her body- “it’s like childbirth, but in reverse”. Shudder. And the epidural, and the rusks… Just horrible. I mean great, but also horrible…

EmmaH2022 · 28/04/2022 23:13

Someone advised me not to watch The Harrowing, said she wished she hadn't.

After ascertaining it wasn't gory, I watched it. I found it brilliant and only the final few seconds disturbed me. The funny lines were really funny! I love how they plop humour in the darkest things.

I haven't watched the art gallery one. Think that's the only one I've not seen.

Another favourite - call centre. Impeccable dramatic timing.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 28/04/2022 23:30

Steve Pemberton's accent was all over the shop in that. That was disappointing.

Heliotropium · 28/04/2022 23:37

I enjoyed episode 2. Funny and I liked the Wicker Man similarity.
Favourite episodes of mine are Sardines, 12 Days of Christine and Death be not Proud.

OnlyClothes · 17/04/2022 00:12

I love the one about moving house and it keeps skipping to ‘10 minutes ago’ or something. Just excellent!

This was the first one I watched, I thought it was confusing and brilliant in equal measure. There was also one where they were in a restaurant and arguing over the bill, does anyone know what that one was called?
And of course the brilliant 12 Days of Christine. That still resonates with me.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/04/2022 07:48

Follow that's "The Bill" Series 3
It's a good one
