When it comes to the BBC's drama output, 2022 has gotten off to a very strong start – with an array of such as including The Tourist, The Responder and Four Lives all having impressed viewers so far.

And one of the next series to arrive on our screens is brand new thriller Chloe, which is billed by the BBC as a "mystery about obsession, deceit, identity, and grief".

The series tells the story of Bristol-based Becky Green, who takes on a new identity in a bid to uncover the mysterious death of a social media influencer whose seemingly perfect life she had been closely following.

The official plot synopsis provided by the BBC reads: "The thriller follows Becky Green who has been watching Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert) via her perfect social media images for some time; Chloe’s charmed life, adoring husband and circle of high-achieving friends are always just a click away.

"Becky can’t resist watching a life that contrasts so starkly with her own; a life spent caring for her mother, who has early-onset dementia, in their small seaside flat on the outskirts of Bristol. When Chloe dies suddenly, Becky assumes a new identity and infiltrates the enviable lives of Chloe's closest friends to find out what happened to her."

@alltheapples

Yes the caravan was anything but grim. Those views for a start.
Would probably be underwater after the recent storms though

@Blondeshavemorefun

Tho surely if a good friend of hers wouldn’t she have kept Chloe’s number in her phone

I have numbers from friends I havnt seen fir years

i dont think so, if numbers change

i thought it was a great story, the ending is always going to be difficult so i think it was good enough

purpleme12 · 28/02/2022 22:26

I'm not entirely sure what to think of it

LazyDoll · 28/02/2022 23:18

Really struggled with this. Ploughed on wishfully but massively disliked all the characters except Chloe and Josh but particularly (and intensely) Becky/Sasha. Found her very irritating. Just didn’t think she was cast right at all in that role. Found her very unbelievable. Six hours of my life I’ll never get back sadly. Worst drama since Angela Black on ITV and I usually love BBC drama. Showtrial was much better!

I soldiered on - it had no pay off. What a waste. I watched it as the music was scored by Will Gregory from Goldfrapp but it was used in quite a bitty way and didn't gel for me either.

Choccy21 · 10/03/2022 16:04

Sorry everyone, I’m still catching up. I’m just starting episode three so not reading the spoilers!
A few things I noticed;

Becky speaks with a Bristol accent. Yet “Sasha” doesn’t.
Becky enrolled into that expensive gym , because Liv kind of forced her into it. Would you really do that if you couldn’t afford it?
Why’s Becky not going to her normal day job?
I still have four episodes to go, it’s kind of slow moving.Is it worth persevering?

purpleme12 · 10/03/2022 16:31

Well on balance I'd say it probably wasn't worth watching to the end

BooseysMom · 11/03/2022 14:06

Always late to the party me! Prob no one will give a fig now but I thought it was excellent with clever plotting and Erin Doherty handled the switch from Becky to Sasha brilliantly. Such a clever actress.
I thought it was better than The Girl Before.
But I guess it's too late to comment Hmm

CherryDocsInYrBalls · 11/03/2022 17:46

I think Becky/Sasha is a good actress but she's not likable and it's unbelievable how people want to be involved with her. She's blah

MrsLargeEmbodied · 12/03/2022 08:01

i enjoyed it @Choccy21

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 19/03/2022 18:12

Just binge watched Chloe. (And then read this thread). And still baffled

xsquared · 19/03/2022 20:32

@MyrtlethePurpleTurtle

Did you enjoy it? Which bits did you find baffling?

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 19/03/2022 21:49

Yes, I enjoyed it (sort of). Well, I very much enjoyed the first few episodes when Becky was obsessing & social gate crashing but the last couple of episodes I had problems working out what was going on Blush

Figgygal · 24/03/2022 12:30

Im so confused
It just jumped all over the place didnt it
Shes cheating oh no she isnt
Shes being blackmailed oh no she isn't
Becky fantasies confused me - she hadnt seen her since the party night had she
Theres no evidence elliott killed her
How did they find the caravan? How did she buy it? Becky is now just squatting in it .......until when??
I dont know what to make of it

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 24/03/2022 23:57

You and me both, @Figgygal, you and me both
