Anyone else excited about the return of Endeavour tomorrow night??

Was it seraphim and cherubim about the ‘rave scene’ didn’t his niece get involved in drugs. Joyce’s daughter that would be? I seem to remember them all standing out in the cold somewhere. With Morse’s stepmom in a wheelchair.

Wasn't sure if the stepmum was in that as well as Joyce.

So what I understood from Sunday's Endeavour was that his dad only left because Gwen became pregnant.

Well of course that assumes that his mum wouldn't have kicked him to the kerb for the affair!

But when Gwen said something like "well we took you in"-as if they'd done some massive favour

So maybe she had wanted to pretend that there wasn't another wife & child somewhere else.

All this supposition about fictional characters!

I think there is one more to be shown next week, but others to be shown next year.

I think Strange looks more like a potential match for Joan (and love rival to Endeavour) now that he's slimmed down.

Joan looked a bit old-fashioned in that evening frock. It looked about a decade out of date!

Just a bit of trivia-John Thaw was 45 when he started portraying Morse & Shaun Evans is 41 now!

I thought that Strange would be too "stuffy" for Joan.

Morse has never really tried to date her anyway has he?

John Thaw looked considerably older(even at the beginning of the drama run) than that, didn't he?

I guess maybe Morse has always regarded Joan as a kind of 'reserve love interest'? He certainly didn't pay her much thought when he was busy courting the gorgeous Italian woman!

I think Joan had her wild stage with that abusive boyfriend and now she's a social worker type person who's looking for steady and kind and reliable. And that's Strange.

Didn't we all predict moons ago that Joan was likely the reason why Endeavour and Strange had a bit of a strained relationship in Morse?

It was so sad when Joan came storming into the hospital and didn't acknowledge Endeavour.

Well, I think Endeavour's missed the boat as far as Joan is concerned but he doesn't really realise it.

They've certainly ramped up his cynical side and bitterness since the last season haven't they?

Endeavour and Strange sounds the name like a Dickensian solicitors' firm.

I'm watching too. Not sure the unused hotel for eight years would still be like that if no one been in it for years. Where are the cobwebs .

No way would the hotel be so easy to break in to, and yet still have all the drink, food,, beds, games, furniture etc untouched. But I'll overlook that for the story...
