Loki (Disney+ starting June 11): MCU fans assemble!

Loki starts on Disney+ on June 11!

I know it’s a way away but I thought I’d start a thread for pre-amble pondering discussion seeing as Falcon and the Winter Soldier is over now and we no longer have a weekly MCU fix for a while!

Sometimes I’m wary of trailers, I don’t like to know too many details in advance, but this is good, it doesn’t spoil anything just nicely teases the theme and tone, and looks to be some good chemistry between Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson.

I really like how WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and now Loki are all so different in feel.

Oh and if you’re not a MCU addict want to catch up with the story so far, then this article lists which movies to watch beforehand (nine of them!!!) but really, you could just watch two - the first Thor and Avengers movies, and then jump to Loki from there and you’d be in the same place as our protagonist. It’d be really interesting to hear that perspective actually!

Ours was fine in that and all scenes, I'm afraid.

I also couldn't make out the timekeepers though. I wondered if that was part of the point.

I really hope there is a second season. I liked wandavision and fatws, but I love Loki. I rewatched episode 3 and I'm ready to rewatch episode 4 too.

DH sometimes struggles with dialogue so we watch it with subtitles. There was no way I would have made out what they were saying.

Have you seen this article on how they changed Sylvie's costume to allow the actress to breastfeed her baby more easily? How nice to see Hollywood starting to accommodate working mothers a bit :)

Wow, that was good, if a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Love Sylvie so much, the way she was sitting and the look she gave Ravonna and Ravonna realising another Hunter had been compromised was brilliant.

It was painful watching Sif hurt Loki over and over, and not just the physical violence. Somebody needs to hug him. Then he finally had a friend and...

And I really love Sylvie. I like the fact she's not shown in a sexualised way, her outfit is actually sensible rather than unnecessarily revealing. She looks amazing.

Absolutely loved Ep 4. The wizard of type reveal of the timekeepers was so obvious from the moment they spoke though .

I've been watching loads of videos on YouTube about theories and consensus is Loki is now in some kind of 'limbo' place where pruned variants go . Hoping he can get out of it . Whether we will see Kang is another matter as I think marvel will save him for a film .

Loving all the Loki merchandise that's around . After a drought of items it's like Christmas with so much available .

Finally got chance to watch this as my wifi went out. I’m glad I watch with subtitles because there is no way in hell I would have understood the time keepers

@GrolliffetheDragon I think the Marvel costume designers have been fantastic recently at giving their female characters costumes that reflect the comics, flatter and look good but also look practical and don't have arses and tits hanging out or those ludicrous boob moulds à la Wonder Woman.

I'm so annoyed Mobius didn't last longer. Hope is he happy jet skiing in a 90's like afterlife episode of baywatch.

I think so too. You don't hire Owen Wilson, put him and his relationship with Hiddles upfront, and then do without him for a full third of the scant six episodes you have to play with.

In a way I'd respect and admire it if he was really dead-dead, as I think it's a brave choice that is too rarely made, but I doubt it. (I admired it when Luke Cage killed off Mahershala Ali before the end of the season, but unfortunately the villain they replaced him with was shite.)

And obvs Cottonmouth is now Blade in an alternate timeline (well that’s how I’m keeping everything canon!!)

Also, we still haven't found out about the jet skis, and there's no way that that gun isn't going to go off at some point... right?

I’d be very happy with a jet ski chase scene :-)

Luke Cage was amazing for the first half-season, absolutely incredible. Can't think of another programme that tanked as hard and fast. Total waste of Mike Coulter.

Mahershala Ali is a great actor. Luke Cage definitely suffered when he was taken out.

I've watched and enjoyed it this morning.

I watch it the morning too. Episode 5 is my favourite episode so far.

Richard E Grant manages to imbue that costume with a terrible dignity.

I also can't tell you how tickled I am by Lokigator.

I was never into the Loki thing, but Hiddles and Sylvie between them have finally suckered me. I'm also so glad Mobius is back. And I think they're doing an interesting job of exploring whether there is such a thing as romantic love if you are essentially loving yourself.

I also like that all Lokis seem, if they live long enough, to bend towards love and self-sacrifice. Loki and Sylvie holding hands in the face of the storm as those heavy signature chords kicked in gave me chills.

Definitely the killer performer of the MCU shows.

So... who do we think is in the castle? I did wonder about another Loki but that would be too obvious?
Did anyone see the plane with Thanos written on it??

I also wondered whether the Wizard of Oz type person behind the tva was a Loki.

I had to rewind a few times before I realised that was a frog Thor near the beginning. Hope someone digs him up.
