Disgusting miscarriage of justice. A serial domestic abuser who basically beat him to death and she got 16 months?! What the fuck is wrong with our justice system.

Francofilly · 12/04/2021 22:06

One of the most awful things I’ve seen on TV - so terribly sad

DancingInTheDaffodils · 12/04/2021 22:06

Disgraceful sentence, so the judge too on board her trouble childhood, but the guy the other week who also had a troubled childhood got 26 years.

RIP Paul.

FizzyPink · 12/04/2021 22:09

She’s probably sat at home watching it on TV by now

TheSugarRefiner · 12/04/2021 22:10

Is it any wonder that victims of domestic violence don't come forwards. 16 months is disgraceful!

whatsthestory123 · 12/04/2021 22:10

yep and they said she had been in a domestic violence to her relationship before,if thats true she should know better but i wouldnt take her word for it

am quite upset about that episode, the judge sounds like he needs to retire as he is not fit for purpose

Toddlerteaplease · 12/04/2021 22:15

Surely that should have been manslaughter. Not ABH. The police woman was so desperate to help him. Very sad.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 12/04/2021 22:17

Shock cannot believe that sentence

ParkheadParadise · 12/04/2021 22:18

Sadly he won't be the last victim let down by the justice system.
I know personally how his family must feel its heartbreaking,

Hellocatshome · 12/04/2021 22:21

That sentence was ridiculous, a lot of people have had troubled childhoods and suffered domestic violence but don't go around killing other people!!!

whatsthestory123 · 12/04/2021 22:28

can his family appeal

she is probably out now without a care in the world

really disgusted with it

I know it's all based on evidence when it goes to court, but no proof that her beating him caused him to die? Right, so the absolute battering she gave him just happened to have occurred before he got bleeds on the brain and then had an unrelated heart attack 🤔 Ridiculous!!!

On Twitter, someone found her FB which has 'be kind' on the profile pic 😳 I feel bad for whatever hell she has been through in past relationships, but get help FFS, don't take it out on someone else. Even if she didn't acknowledge the seriousness of what she was doing at first, you would have thought that after she put him in hospital the first time, she would have had a wake up call.

Very sad story.

Cherrypie32 · 12/04/2021 22:53

I wondered if a male abuser would have got longer and if a judge would have taken into account their circumstances in quite the same way?

Yes I saw that too!

That was shocking tonight. Poor Paul and his poor family and friends.
I really felt for the policewoman when she realised he was going to die, she so wanted to save him and get him somewhere safe.

ILoveYou3000 · 12/04/2021 23:22

That sentence was an absolute joke! I'm stunned. Her actions led to his death. It was repeated. She'd already served time for assaulting him. She'd been out of prison for 6 days after serving that sentence. Just how?

That poor man. He was finally building up the strength to escape. I have no words. It's heartbreakingly sad.

whatsthestory123 · 12/04/2021 23:42

The court heard that just five days before the assault, which resulted in Mr Jenner's death, Naidoo had been released from prison after serving another sentence for assaulting him in April 2019.

i didnt realise she had only just got out

Shocking. 16 months is a fucking disgrace for Paul and his loved ones.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/04/2021 05:02

I'm baffled, reading the BBC report, as to why the judge made that decision.

billysboy · 13/04/2021 06:42

A pity the judge didn’t rule and say that as you no comment all of your interviews that will double your sentence
Absolutely no reference to this on any of the cases

Anne1958 · 13/04/2021 07:20

That wasn’t Justice.

The judge should be ashamed of himself but there’s no point at all of expecting anything of that vile woman.

Laggartha · 13/04/2021 09:58

I thought the police officers' behaviour was a little striking - the high fives, the "smash it!", the screaming... I dunno, but I thought they'd be a little more serious and professional.

FizzyPink · 13/04/2021 10:31

I thought that too in parts. I was also quite surprised at how open they were with Cindy about the fact that he had called the police on her. You’d think they might be mindful of the fact that they’ve just landed him in it if he does go back to her which he’ll no doubt be punished for.
