@Anne1958

I certainly was attracted to Justice. He’s only 7 years older than my eldest grandchild.
That's pretty weird
Anne1958 · 05/04/2021 18:22

Anyone watching tonight? Finding this chilling!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/04/2021 21:53

Really thought he was dead!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/04/2021 21:56

Really chilling.

purpleme12 · 05/04/2021 22:00

God, shocking 😓

MeadowHay · 05/04/2021 22:01

It's so awful especially because the guy and his cronies are still out there and likely so many other people are being subject to their brutality every day too. Horrendous.

SimonJT · 05/04/2021 22:03

That poor man and his family, those five years must have been awful.

DancingInTheDaffodils · 05/04/2021 22:29

That was a hard watch, that poor man. He must have been so scared to live like that for 5 years.

I am glad his family have him back and I hope he can move forward with his life.

LilacTrees · 06/04/2021 12:15

Horrible to think of all the people suffering under modern slavery. The perpetrators are such vicious, evil people

Groovee · 06/04/2021 18:16

Wow, 5 years living like that. Bless him,

RevolvingPivot · 06/04/2021 19:14

Im surprised he hadn't gone mad. Do we believe that he was in that tent all day? I wondered whether he was forced to work for the man who asked him for money. He was literally down the road from the house he ran from. I can't believe people would help someone get into the country, find them a house and a job then be so cruel.

LilacTrees · 06/04/2021 20:53

He must have been so traumatised by the torture they were putting him through

Cocolapew · 06/04/2021 22:28

I've just caught up, what the actual hell?
How did he charge the phone, how was he so clean shaven and his hair was neat.
His clothes were clean snd in good order.
How? I don't understand at all.
If he was in hiding from them was he not working at all? He looked tidier than my DH.
Shocking.

Hellocatshome · 06/04/2021 22:35

I had so many unanswered questions.
How did he charge his phone
How did he wash
How did he wash his clothes
How did he not freeze to death over winter
How did the local kids etc not know about the shed in the woods? That's the kind of thing we would have found as kids and then got scared when we realised someone lived there.
How did he manage to keep up a good weight just on scraps out the bins?
If someone was constantly going through the bins (presumably near Asda) normally even if people didn't know who he was people would know someone was doing it.
How did he get credit for his phone or why wasn't the contract stopped if it was a contract phone as he said he found it?
Why did he make a Facebook profile of he didn't want to be found?

I'm not saying I dont believe him but I just can't get my head around the logistics and I think it would be fascinating to know exactly how he did it.

Very strange. I didn't think about a lot of that at the time. You would have thought a man living in the woods would have long hair and a beard too. I know he won't know but I'd be interested to know more about how he lived.
Cocolapew · 07/04/2021 12:34

He had to have have some money, you can't live 5 years in the woods and come out looking like that.
Also he was sleeping on asbestos Shock

SuburbanCrofter · 07/04/2021 13:02

Another question: he had been injured so badly that a witness thought he must be dead. How did he recover? Surely his wounds would have got infected at the very least?

Cocolapew · 07/04/2021 13:57

And there were no visible scars, if someone stuck a key repeatedly into my head I would think they would be something, especially as he never went to hospital.
He also stand he could hardly stand but was able to run away from them?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 07/04/2021 14:02

This episode was so strange.

How did have a phone? Would't he need an address for the contract?
GP?

How did he manage for money? Did the police and the interpreter travel all the way to Germany for a chat with his sister? Don't they have phones in Wisbeech?

campion · 07/04/2021 14:11

I was asking the same things Hellocatshome and Cocolapew
The police either believed everything he told them at face value or,giving them the benefit of the doubt, probed deeper but didn't tell us the whys and wherefores.
The phone charging definitely has me puzzled.

Anyway,I hope he really is safe now as he did seem rather vulnerable.

Pippin2028 · 07/04/2021 16:20

I definitely think the full story hasn't come out, but there's probably reasons for that, but I don't think he was by himself all those years, he had personal hygiene products in his camp and he was well built and looked so healthy too.
But it touches on the more awful subject of modern day slavery, it's definitely hidden in plain sight and just awful to know people just want to make some better form of future for themselves and end up in a living nightmare.

EasterBunny21 · 07/04/2021 20:06

I actually never thought of any of that!

It wasn’t your typical episode either was it. Focusing on him rather than a criminal.
