I saw a trailer for this the other evening but DC were running around and being loud so I missed most of it. Does anyone know when it’s starting please? I don’t want to miss it as it’s brilliant!

Hello can I join in? Unforgotten one of my favourite programmes!

Early thoughts. Definite mum theme to first episode throughout.

Initial guess is some kind of pass out initiation silliness gone wrong.

BentBastard · 23/02/2021 20:26

*passing out

Although that seems far too straightforward. There will be more to it than that, of course.

excelledyourself · 23/02/2021 21:29

I watched the series 1-3 at the start of lockdown, but I can't remember series 1 at all.

Wonder how the dodgy phone call to Felix/Felicity ties in with him once being a cop.

Exhausteddog · 23/02/2021 23:23

I just watched today and now will be in suspense til next week. Glad I've found this thread in case I miss anything!

MerylStropp · 24/02/2021 12:29

Loved previous series of this but was kind of put off by the continuity announcer's warning about "strong graphic images from the start" - obvs the episode description suggests this would be the case anyway, but is anything left to the imagination or are we treated to images of the victim in all its incomplete glory? Sorry for being a wimp Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2021 12:40

I didn’t think it was strong graphic

PuppyMonkey · 24/02/2021 12:47

It was a bit shocking but completely and utterly relevant to the storyline imho.

Exhausteddog · 24/02/2021 12:51

It wasnt as gory as I expected.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 24/02/2021 13:06

We see the victim in their dead state (not sure how much you already know). More shocking than gory.

MerylStropp · 24/02/2021 13:37

Thanks for the info. Might give it a miss - can't be done with missing heads, even if not gory! Shame as I like a good story with a bit of intrigue, and can cope with most other things. Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2021 15:35

You only really see the dead body for few seconds

BentBastard · 24/02/2021 15:37

@Blondeshavemorefun

You only really see the dead body for few seconds

In the interest of accuracy for mertlstrop you only see it for a few seconds, a few times (I can think of three occasions).

Exhausteddog · 24/02/2021 16:02

i was going to say the same, its a very fleeting view and not close up in one instance

SingToTheSky · 24/02/2021 16:22

Just watched. I’ve got so used to being able to binge everything that I forgot how painful it is to have to wait 😩😂

Good point about Cassie having potentially known them. Awkward. She didn’t recognise the name forgerty though so maybe just one or two of them?

I need something to watch now. Was thinking about that James Nesbit one but since Susan Lynch is also in that, according to imdb, will I get too confused 😂

@SingToTheSky what's he JN one? I'd be binge watching Unforgotten too, so need an alternative.

Thanks - that's quite enough to give me nightmares... Confused

Watching a perfectly intact James Nesbit in Bloodlands instead. Grin

longwayoff · 24/02/2021 18:11

MerylStropp do not watch The Great. There's some utterly grim and bloody stuff in that which can turn the strongest stomach.

MerylStropp · 24/02/2021 19:13

@longwayoff Thanks for the ...errm... heads up! Grin I'll be sure to give that a miss, just like Game of Thrones. I like an epic plotline with spectacular scenery and sumptuous costumes etc., but the violence on some shows just seems so gratuitous these days. Obviously this can't always be avoided in crime dramas, but - like the great Inspector Morse - I prefer to keep the gore to a minimum and focus my efforts on whodunnit instead of cringing at the screen!

longwayoff · 24/02/2021 19:26

Completely agree. Can't help wondering about whoever has to create these grotesqueries as a job. Whether they're thrilled to have such demanding work '3 severed legs, an arm and a head, please' or they preferred it when much of it was left to our own imagination and they just had to throw in a few bandages and a bucket of blood.

Where can 8 find the great

Blondes loves gore

longwayoff · 24/02/2021 21:36

Loosely historical Catherine the Great of Russia. Sunday night 9pm, c4. 8 episodes on All4, 2 to come on Sundays. It's quite witty, the sex is graphic and heads abound. I think you'll like it blondes

BaaHumbugg · 24/02/2021 23:14

I love this show! So sad about her Dad and the dementia as they had such a lovely sweet relationship, I know it's only a show..Smile

BooseysMom · 25/02/2021 03:22

Can I join too please? This is is the best crime drama I've ever seen. Love NW. Also loved her in Last Tango and the Split. My 83 yo dad loves her too and says her acting is very natural, the way she pauses alot and looks to the side. I like the way she incorporates swears into her sentences and then just walks out of the office!

Re. The headless corpse, don't let that put you off as it really is just a fleeting glimpse at the beginning and end and it won't cause nightmares and if it does then maybe avoid all crime/murder dramas.

As a pp said the way they've worked her back into the story to complete her 3 months I really hope that doesn't mean this is the last series. It's one of those dramas you never want to end.

I don't like binge watching I prefer to wait for something to be on every week like in the old days!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2021 07:35

I’m hoping after her 3mths she will reliese she loves her job abs s5 will start

Still 🙀🙀🙀🙀 at £124k pension and her even considering not going back for 3mths
