Yes it should probably be in telly addicts - but Aibu to think Katie Price has really done a great thing in doing this documentary.

I want to make it clear that I don't judge her AT ALL for the choices she's made (or had to make) with Harvey. It must be incredibly challenging to raise a child with the level of needs he has.
But.... with Katie, it is all smoke and mirrors, so it's hard to believe everything she says as there are so many contradictions. So, when she claims she's done everything on her own with no respite and she's with him 24/7 and how tough it will be 3 hours away, one can't help thinking of all the times we've seen the opposite.

Just watched it. I am normally quite cynical about Katie but have to say she comes across well.
Totally disagree she is palming Harvey off- it was clearly apparent his needs are such he needs specialist support. She also needs to be aware of the impact his behaviours have on his younger siblings. It really isn’t cut and dry and I certainly don’t envy her!
So wrong to judge someone without having walked a mile in their shoes.

Uses him to make money? Just like all the insta mums and YouTube bloggers who parade their kids all over the internet, film them sleeping, make them perform for Ads and ensure they have zero privacy?

No. She’s not as bad as that lot!

So as her career will involve travelling leaving her kids then would be no different to any other working mum, or actOrs etc.
Agree excessive holidays are a bit different although I wouldn't begrudge one or two to any parent and even more one that has children who need round the clock care.
The kids appear to live with both parents the others were in background for some of it .
Great dwight york paid for his child but he had the money to go to court if he really wanted to see him and now he is an adult why is it you think Katie should of spent money wisely and provide for him but his dad now shouldn't.
Yes she has made mistakes but I don't think the bond they have is fake after watching this show.
The other side of it showed how hard it is for people in this position as well so it was also informative and shocking how some have been treated.
And yes when you are stating something as a fact as opposed to a opinion you should be able to reference why.

The issue is not that she was unable to be present 24/7. Many parents have to work, many also require additional support in dealing with a child with multiple health problems. However she has over many years chosen to spend a lot of time away on holidays and jaunts with the latest bloke or some of her other kids (in addition to time away for work purposes) whilst Harvey was left at home with whoever was available - which I would imagine was difficult for him given a need for consistency and routine. Often he was with her mum but in recent years it's often been people who are in no way trained to deal with someone with Harvey's range of disabilities, indeed they've not even been carers. On one of her last holidays I understand he was left at home with someone who does her hair and makeup! How that serves his best interests I do not know.

I was really touched by the programme and their relationship.

What a lovely polite and funny man he is and I loved the bit where Harvey and his friend got to see the trains too.

My heart was breaking for the poor woman whose son was sectioned but she was amazingly strong too and now he has a much happier life.

@Grenlei and we have proof that is true ? Yes it appears he was left with her mum a lot which would be one constant. Also maybe she has grown up and learnt a lot, that bond wasn't fake .
I don't always choose to believe everything I read as someone I know already said to me from what they had read how she was now sending him off to live in a home and how awful it was , opinion based on a story in the press.
When the reality is quite different.

The kids don't "live with" both parents.
Junior and Princess live with Peter, and Princess sees her mother some weekends and occasionally after school; Junior less often.
Jett and Bunny live with Kieran and again, see Katie for visits.
Katie manipulates her Social Media postings to make it look as if they are there more often than in fact they are.
For those wanting "proof," just yesterday Katie posted a photo of her with Bunny, referring to being "all snowed out," or words to the effect that they had been together that day, playing in the snow.
Kieran then posted video footage from various points in the same day of both children playing in the snow at his house in Sussex, and then snuggling up for bedtime stories there too.
Katie has admitted to releasing photos at confusing times before, when she used it as a defence to the police, who questioned her about her movements during lockdown.

Holidays?
Heaven forbid that a woman raising a child with a considerable amount of challenging health issues (which are not her fault, whoever the spiteful person it was who said otherwise) should have time away.

Dwight Yorke may well have a trust fund set up for Harvey, or arrangements to finance his care. I would imagine he would be taking considerable care to ringfence the money from Katie given her money problems. If he has got anything like this in place, she certainly wouldn't publicise it.

Her other children visit her, but their main residences are with their fathers. She sees them a couple of times a week, but once she's living well over an hour away in Essex ( in her boyfriends fairly average sized house where there'll be a lot less room for them all to stay) she will struggle to see them that regularly. But maybe that's the plan. With her, who knows?

As I stated upthread, I think a residential home/ supported living environment would be far better for Harvey than his current situation. Ensuring he gets a place somewhere like that would be the best thing she can do for him. Somewhere that will properly manage his health issues, give him routine, consistency, a healthy diet and regular exercise. I'm sure he will do very well there.

And i suppose it will be up to her children to decide what sort of mum she is and wether living with their dads and visiting their mums was best for them.
We don't criticise men for having this arrangement.

But surely actually being in his sons life is also important and her kids other fathers all are

I've always admired Katie Price. She seems strong and puts up with all kinds of judgement and criticism towards herself, but doesn't tolerate it towards her children. She also seems to manage to keep calm and carry on through all the trials of life.

How is it her fault. He has several medical conditions. My son is very much like Harvey- it’s not my fault ! I didn’t do anything! You sound very ignorant And uniformed!

I do strongly hope that his feckless millionaire father will be contributing to the incredibly large costs of his son’s care.

I second this and underline it!! It would have certainly been pertinent for Katie to have made financial provision for dear Harvey - I understand she had assets of around £45 million at the peak of her career - but now Dwight needs to pay the fees of the excellent care package suggested. I feel upset with this situation when I see friends with DC who have challenging differences and the financial sacrifices they make whilst on average earnings.

We went through the same journey a couple of years back so it was interesting to watch. I doubt The LA will put her through hell with regards funding though like they did to us!

I haven't said anything about the children being in the limelight, nor was I criticising Katie for "having this arrangement."
For one thing, I don't think she had any choice in the matter; this stems back to when she was in a bad place and couldn't care for them, so their fathers stepped in.
And re: holidays, again, I don't blame her for wanting to go on holiday. She certainly seems to go on quite a few, even if she claims they're "work," Would many people go away for a fortnight just days after their severely disabled child was discharged from hospital after a reportedly life-threatening illness? Erm, I'd have to say no.

Er, no, they most definitely do NOT. They go to school near Kieran's house in Sussex. Katie now lives in Essex with Carl, and before that she had a rental in Surrey.

Have seen in media that Harvey is going into care.
Totally good on her she seems to have been such a caring mum over the years, doesn't mean she doesn't care if she now needs more help.

Harvey's dad? From what I can remember from what has been reported, that's Dwayne York and he's never really given a shit, she seems to have brought him up alone from very young despite difficulties
