Thurs at 9 Richard returns
Can we figure out how they are going to pull this off given that he had an ice pick in his chest when we last saw himGrin
My guess. It was stated and he has been undercover for the last 3/4 years or however long it has been

Oh that rings a bell. Was it to do with Strictly?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2021 21:59

Oh did he. Weird as both bbc

VanGoghsDog · 17/01/2021 01:07

I can't remember, it was a year or so ago, it was all on Twitter at the time. I don't watch Strictly, totally forgot he'd been on that.

I love the actor and wish he was still in it.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 17/01/2021 10:44

Perhaps there was something else as well then? I've just looked up the Strictly thing; he came across very competitively, and seemed to fall out with his partner. He then didn't turn up to the exit interview and she had to do it on her own and was nearly crying.

Then more recently he gave an interview saying that she'd injured herself, so he spent a fortnight practising with somebody else and only really dancing with her on the shows, but the BBC kept it quiet.

It's a shame he isn't coming back (even for a cameo, or an onscreen video call!). I also can't believe that Dwayne really would have stayed in England, it didn't seem to suit him much at all. He's far too Caribbean!

mogtheexcellent · 17/01/2021 13:10

He's not in England. His dad came back. They are prob on a neighbouring island.

SoupDragon · 17/01/2021 13:55

Apparently Dwayne is "sailing round the islands" with his father.

I also found this quote about Danny John-Jules Danny, who went on to dazzle on the dancefloor on Strictly Come Dancing, told TV Times: "I left Death in Paradise because I wanted to get back on stage. I needed a bit more razzmatazz in my life, and then along came Strictly!"

Whatsnewpussyhat · 17/01/2021 14:12

It was stupid. Why bury the bloody glasses? Why? Even if he'd thrown them in the sea the arsenic would be cleaned off.

I loved Ardel too. Humphrey with his 'messy desk' quirk annoyed me.

I love the end where they get everyone together and do the whole, "you wanted him dead Dorothy and you had the murder weapon in your bra........but it wasn't you.....and you Gary, you knew Bob was sleeping with your mother and was going to steal your inheritance.....but it wasn't you either........"

Takes me back to watching Columbo. Grin

SoupDragon · 17/01/2021 14:15

I'm trying to think whether I've ever correctly identified the killer for the right reason... I'm not sure I have!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2021 14:37

I often get right but then it’s 25% chance 😂

SoupDragon · 17/01/2021 15:02

I tend to assume that, if I've noticed something, it is probably irrelevant.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 17/01/2021 15:09

we love the juxtaposition of "gruesome murder straight into jaunty theme tune", plus trying to decide who the most famous actor is, as they're usually the murderer.

SilentBob · 17/01/2021 15:28

@MyVisionsComeFromSoup I love that too! Don Washington Voice "There's been a MURDER!"...do do do do doooooooo do do dooooooo do do do do do do do dooooooooooo!

ISaySteadyOn · 18/01/2021 14:37

Cozy murder mysteries. I love them. And it was great to see Bryony Hannah again. I love her.

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 18/01/2021 15:41

Talking of Bryony Hannah did anyone else think it was weird she got off without being charged at all, even though she had tried to make the professor ill by dosing him with what she thought was arsenic? A dangerous lady to have as a colleague for sure.

Standrewsschool · 21/01/2021 21:09

The flowers in this garden are gorgeous!

How can you be ‘living alone with your husband.’

Graphista · 22/01/2021 00:23

Richards return has to be a flashback/prequel surely, maybe he appears in a video relating to a new case? it's light and humorous but bound in reality

Ben Miller was the best one as it was originally a "fish out of water" premise, next best was ardal as I loved his warm character. I also enjoyed his relationship with the commissioner.

A lot of the cast has changed, they would need all the original cast not if it pertains to his role back in the Uk, then none of the original cast would figure in that.

Camille is also coming back so it could be flashbacks with just her and the commissioner

Also true, LOVE Camille!

But yes there is sadly potential for a "jumping the shark" scenario which I really hope they don't do and screw it all up!

I wonder if Camille sees Richard at all the crime scenes and has him helping her (in her head) solving all the crimes. Sort of how Sam could see Al in Quantum Leap but no one else could

Totally different series, but the "seeing ghosts" thing is possible, anyone here watch rizzoli and isles? After Barry frosts death, Jane "saw" him in various places and his vision led her to clues but it was played in a, it could just be Jane noticing clues and attaching a vision of her deceased colleague to it in her own mind because she's grieving. It was beautifully done and so true to how many of us are following a bereavement especially a shock one. Respectful to the memory of Lee Thompson Young.

Never took to Madeline, a poor Camille sub.

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams some of us are old enough to remember rising damp and cats eyes! Don is a fantastic and very underrated actor, would love to see him in more tv and film, think he'd make an excellent M in James Bond for example, but he seems to prefer theatre and voiceover work.

I think he's aged very well! I think he's still a very attractive and charismatic man!

PLEASE NO idris Elba, couldn't act his way out of a paper bag and really isn't as good looking as people make out

they're basically spiders in armour Grin

Ruby annoyed me at first but grew on me. Shame the actress made that decision to leave, hopefully onto another job, otherwise a foolish move I think.

Loving the idea of a "young Dwayne" character. Shame Danny John jules messed up with that twitter storm. Great actor I've loved since red dwarf and dd loved him as the storymaker and on MI High.

Love the idea of seeing a young man having a change in character due to doing the job and interacting with the other characters

Twisique · 22/01/2021 14:39

I am confused, I thought JP and Rosie already had a baby?

sanityisamyth · 22/01/2021 14:42

The previous police officer, Fidel, did. JP didn't.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/01/2021 14:48

Was that Rosie the same actress as usual?

sanityisamyth · 22/01/2021 14:51

No it was a different one. The new one is JPs wife in real life.

SoupDragon · 22/01/2021 16:09

She was about a foot shorter than the original Rosie.

SoupDragon · 22/01/2021 16:14

(Slight exaggeration)

ImAncient · 23/01/2021 18:33

Just can’t get into this series.

grandmasterstitch · 23/01/2021 21:26

I enjoyed this one. Neville is much better without all the allergies. I'm warming to him

Twisique · 24/01/2021 11:11

I love it!
