I've seen a trailer which I'm sure had Florence in it too. The way she left also bothered me. If she had so many relatives in Martinique (?) why on earth weren't they there for her wedding?

Perhaps Camille and Richard have been undercover together in Paris for the last few years (futile hope, I know. Catherine would definitely have found out!).

I'm looking forward to it coming back though. It's definitely become a bit less clever than some of the earlier series, but I can forgive it a lot for the scenery and the chance to play "spot the actor".

I had never watched this before lockdown and its how ive passes many hours whilst being at home for 9 months of 2020.
I watched the firstv6 series on Netflux then 7 to 9 on iPlayer. Am up-to-date??
Thexlast series is that annoying andcmyvkeast favourite inspector, the hypochondriac with allergies etc. Sadly in the everybody episode I watched he changed his mind about returning to the UK.
I hope I'm fully upto date because I'm very excited about Thursdays new series.

DS(15) has got into this so he has been watching all the old episodes as he was too young to watch it when it was on originally.

I wonder if Camille sees Richard at all the crime scenes and has him helping her (in her head) solving all the crimes. Sort of how Sam could see Al in Quantum Leap but no one else could.

I was trying to find the trailer I've seen to post, but can't find it anywhere. Seeing clips has made me realise how much I'm looking forward to the sea and sunshine though!

I wonder how much covid affected them? I can imagine getting some of them there to film might have been tricky.But once there... a lot is filmed outside anyway, so presumably it was more the office and reveal bits with lots of people that were difficult.

The reveal bits often have them sat spaced out around a room (especially if it is one where the suspects all end up at odds) so they can probably just space the chairs a bit more.

Maybe Covid is why they are bringing the other characters back ie: issues over getting the cast there at the required times.

The guy from Ghosts (Mike) did a phone interview from the film set and he spoke briefly about them having to work with Covid restrictions.

Ben Miller's first marriage ended while he was working on DiP, I think he had an affair, but I read an interview with him where he said being away so much caused problems. He married the other woman, so she must be worried!!

Im going to have to watch this on catch up as i have a telephone job interviww tomorrow evening.

I didn't mind Ruby. I 'm glad Florence is back though. I thought Madeleine was a bit boring.

I avoided watching anything before hand but as soon as I heard the voice I knew that was Florence back. Love her. I actually cried at the episode where Patrice died and she was injured

Didn't know Richard was coming back. Will interesting to see how this pans out!

Did we know Madeleine and Ruby were leaving at the end of the last series? I hate when characters disappear off screen and it has to be awkwardly squeezed into dialogue to let us know when the characters would be well aware.

I quite enjoyed the episode but the people of St Marie must be wondering how many bumbling, social awkward British detectives there are for them to be repeatedly lumbered with them!

I think Madeleine was only a temporary secondment but I don't remember if she was planning to leave last series. I don't remember Ruby planning to leave either.

Delighted to hear Florence is back. She was great. Much nicer than Camille who spent the whole time rolling her eyes and tutting.

I think maybe they couldn't/didn't want to go out to Guadeloupe with Covid? I think they'd have written them out properly if it had been planned.

The actress playing Ruby decided to quit because she didn't like the negative posts about the character and how she was played, especially in the early days when she screamed and was over the top about everything.

It was great. The new inspector- I think he’s a good actor and I quite like the character but they need to seriously limit the allergies references! Florence is great I will be v annoyed if they make her and the inspector get together. I can’t remember what happened to her bf apart from being deaded?
2 quibbles though - if Florence has been off somewhere, how come she has a house?
And the actor who played the tv star baddie had an appallingly bad accent, it drifted between generic comedy Caribbean, American and English. It was very distracting!
