Thurs at 9 Richard returns
Can we figure out how they are going to pull this off given that he had an ice pick in his chest when we last saw himGrin
My guess. It was stated and he has been undercover for the last 3/4 years or however long it has been

She was about a foot shorter than the original Rosie.

In my defence, she was sitting down most of the time. Grin

I thought she looked different, but couldn't actually remember the last time we saw Original Rosie.

I'm jealous that Florence/Joséphine Jobert can wear vest tops and no bra. If I tried that, there's no way I'd be chasing a suspect anywhere!

SoupDragon · 24/01/2021 11:46

Rosie has not been seen in it since the wedding I don't think. The previous actress is about the same height as JP and the character was a model.

I could chase a suspect in a vest top but I wouldn't be able to use my arms to help in any way as my hands would be firmly clamped on my chest offering moral support.

Interesting that JP's wife is his wife in real life - I thought the previous wife seemed much more suited to him!

@dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby

Talking of Bryony Hannah did anyone else think it was weird she got off without being charged at all, even though she had tried to make the professor ill by dosing him with what she thought was arsenic? A dangerous lady to have as a colleague for sure.
I thought the same thing! She should have been charged with attempted murder.
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 25/01/2021 09:59

I thought maybe assault? Because she wasn't actually trying to kill him.

I wouldn't be letting her near the kettle when she got back to the university!

SoupDragon · 25/01/2021 11:14

Ah, but this is Death in Paradise. Not "tried to kill but failed miserably" in paradise. That must be it.

Clawdy · 28/01/2021 22:24

Tonight's was fun - loved the bare bottom bits! And JP and Marlon singing and dancing!

SoupDragon · 28/01/2021 22:54

I thought the bare bottom was unnecessary. Everyone else was in PJs.

Clawdy · 29/01/2021 08:29

Wasn't that because he was rushed in and had to wear a hospital robe? That's what happens in lots of hospitals, until someone manages to bring the patient's pyjamas in.

notacooldad · 29/01/2021 08:30

I guessed wrong.
I thought it was going to be the guy in the bed next to Neville.
Only because I couldn't think of a reason why he would be connected!

SoupDragon · 29/01/2021 09:07

He wasn't rushed in when he returned after discharging himself though. The commissioner was also rushed in.

I just thought it was ridiculous.

SoupDragon · 29/01/2021 09:11

I had guessed that the intended victim was actually the old woman but didn't have her down as the murderer.

ISaySteadyOn · 29/01/2021 15:22

I don't know. Never underestimate old ladies fictional or otherwise. I once heard an argument that Miss Marple is actually a serial killer.

PrincessScarlett · 29/01/2021 15:51

Trouble is, was it really cold blooded murder? The nurse was going to kill her so you could argue she was very vulnerable and took the only preventative measure she could to save her own life by swapping the cups over. She never put the drugs in the drink. Serves the nurse right!

ISaySteadyOn · 29/01/2021 16:05

That I do agree with.

notacooldad · 29/01/2021 16:10

I'm guessing it was the additional stuff amshe did that turned it from self defence to murder. She learned how to do the nurses handwriting and then penned a supossed suicide note.

SoupDragon · 29/01/2021 16:29

Yes, I spent a fair time pondering whether it was really murder given the nurse kind of poisoned herself but the fake suicide note is what made my mind up.

SoupDragon · 29/01/2021 16:29

She could have spilt the hot chocolate as a preventative measure.

hedgehogger1 · 29/01/2021 16:32

Rasta mouse has ruined this show for me

notacooldad · 29/01/2021 16:32

She could have spilt the hot chocolate as a preventative measure
But doing that she wouldn't die.
She would be in fear of what might happen next.
NB I realise I'm a bit over invested in fictional characters!

SoupDragon · 29/01/2021 16:34

Not if she'd then got the residue checked for drugs.

(And yes, totally over invested here... I want to know of JP's twins slept for a start)

Graphista · 29/01/2021 17:52

I agree more self defence than murder! If she'd knocked the cup over and tried to tell people would the brother or the police have believed her?

Yes the suicide note pre-meditated though although I can't say as I blame her to be honest!

Still love the show and look forward to watching. Wish they'd done more with the chap in the neighbouring bed than that weak sub plot.

Roll on next week which from the trailer looks to be the 2 parter with Camille coming back and Richard seen again...but does that mean only 2 more episodes to go? Sad

I wish British series ran for 24 episodes like American series especially now we all binge watch, you can't really binge a series of only 6 or 8 episodes

I'm guessing due to lack of investment in Uk shows?

PrincessScarlett · 29/01/2021 17:55

Spilling the hot chocolate could have risked burns!

grandmasterstitch · 29/01/2021 20:50

This episode felt a bit like the series one episodes. I really liked it. I'm not sure I'm ready for the drama of next week!
