I love DiP, one of our family favourites.

The reason why JP lied and got everyone else to lie too was to show Marlon that other people did care about him. Marlon had previously said that JP was the only person who cared enough to help him.

I initially found Marlon irritating but I've enjoyed watching him and JP. I don't want JP to leave!

The wearing of camisoles is annoyingly unprofessional I agree. But when the Commissioner is always in a heavy duty uniform surely the DI needs to wear a shirt and tie? (Although not always a jacket!)

We‘ve been discussing what type of character they‘ll bring in to replace JP. Will it be a bloke as always? Could Dwaine or Ruby return?

If I am giving it a lot of thought (too much!) a new person would have to find their feet and might not be the best at coaching Marlon at the same time.

I guess they have a while to decide, not sure which months they will film for the 2022 series.

I also found marlon irritating at first, but he came from a difficult background and was a young man that just needed some love.

There is a very poor equivalent to Death in Paradise on French TV called "Tropiques criminels". It's really bad. Making me want to go to Martinique (where it's filmed) though...

I thought maybe having Marlon would make Dwaine act a bit more sensibly. Not too much, obviously, but it might work?

They are due to film February to October - or at least that was the word on the street in Deshaies (filming location) in December

So it shouldn’t be too long before someone sneaks out a few cast photos...

Quick question about last week's episode:

They said there were only one set of fingerprints on the gun but the flashback showed that the daughter initially had the gun, was going to shoot her mother but dropped it and then Emanuel picked it up.

So why weren't her fingerprints on it too?

Yes. And when Florence was trying to get Neville into the sea a couple of weeks ago, not once did JP say how he'd also hated water and Florence had helped him learn to swim, it was like it never happened

Even bigger problem is the the fact that Camille failed to recognise Neville as a suspect from a previous murder!

I missed my dip fix this week. Thanks to everyone on this thread that recommended similar shows. I’ve just started Shakespeare and Hathaway and it’s definitely filling the void.

I will miss JP he was such a lovely person and I felt he was a very unique character. His relationships with Dwayne, Ruby and Marlon all felt so real. I’m definitely taking this too seriously

I have gone back and started at the beginning as I never saw season one. Am up to S4 now and I had completely forgotten that Florence replaced Fidel! So there are currently two women on the team.
