Gogglebox - how come they can visit family/friends?!

Random thought, just sat watching last nights gogglebox - how come they’re still allowed to visit each other’s houses (those who don’t live together on the show) yet everyone is supposed to be in lockdown and not mixing outside their own household??

That one was filmed before lockdown.

You do realise that they don't watch the TVs as they are being broadcast don't you? They watch programmes at least a week before hence them not being isolated on Fridays show.

I realise that, but they showed the news broadcast of Boris saying the country was to go into lockdown (which was Monday) then subsequently showed them watching The Mandalorian-which was broadcast on Tuesday night??

Well most of them are living in the same household so....

The siqquis (spelling?) aren’t, Ellie and Izzie, the family with the daughter and her young baby, Jenny and Lee. not sure about Pete and Sophie. A fair few don’t live together at all

I did notice Sid Siddiqui wasn't on last night and was replaced by one of his sons. I presumed he was isolating from them.

I saw that and hoped he isn’t unwell

I noticed Sid was missing and was worried for his health. Hopefully he's "just" self isolating.

I also wondered about future episodes, they can easily continue but with families who live together only.

Sid hasn’t been well but is feeling a bit better

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear this. He is such a lovely chap. Wishing Sid a swift recovery.

Mary and Marina were not on it either, so they were obviously self isolating. I think next week if it's on it will look quite different.

At least we will still have Giles & Mary, Dave & Shirley, the Malones, the family with baby Irwin, the other newer married couples whose names I can’t remember, Stephen & Daniel (unfortunately), the mother (Sally) and daughter from Birmingham, Amira & Iqra, The Plummers. The Michaels.

Izzie and Ellie don’t live together, neither do Lee & Jenny or Abbie & Georgia. Pete and Sophie sound as though they do.

I’ve just realised I am presuming that all the families with older children live together but maybe they don’t. Marcus and Mica will still be on it as well. I hope the Siddiquis will still be on but don’t know if the adult sons all live in the same house.

It could all look very different next week.

I was wondering about Lee and Jenny. I guessed they got to see the stuff in advance. So funny on Friday night - Lee and Jenny were hilarious! So where the brother and sister. A great tonic!

Lee and Jenny are my favourite at the moment. That one where Jenny didn't get the "knock one off" joke he made and he couldn't breathe for laughing.

Isn’t it Jenny’s caravan? I always presume it’s out at Pat. Haven but I’m not sure where I got idea from.

I really hope it carries on with those who do live together as this show is such a tonic. The brother and sister with the various mugs are my favourites so I hope they live together and can carry on!

Apparently Lee has said on Twitter that he and Jenny are on lockdown together so they can keep filming the show.

I wonder how they will go about filming it, I read that loads of camera crew are involved. I don't see how it will be possible.
Hope Sid is ok, and Mary and Marina.

I've just been reading up, tbe camera crew are in another room. I always assumed they had the cameras installed and left there! They also film for 8 hours over 2 days. They watch some live TV and some recorded.
