New itv series - 4 parts - runs mon to thur

When recently widowed Vivienne announces her love for new man Mark, it throws the family of adult children into chaos

With their large family home and inheritance at risk , the siblings try to find out more about their mums new love

Sounds like the recent toy boy drama and mum meets new man ....... minus being a toy boy 😂😂

I’d have put a big old fence up there

The80sweregreat · 24/02/2020 21:36

Those houses are amazing! I am jealous.
This is similar to that gold digger programme. Middle class drama for the middle classes!

hussandchips56 · 24/02/2020 21:50

Watching it for the location, seen the Seven Sisters, the houses look like they are the bungalows at Pevensey Bay. Making me homesick.

Storyline looks ok at the moment too

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2020 21:56

Agree houses are amazing

It’s weird watching how adult children react

My mum died almost 6yrs ago. If my Dad met another older woman - not a gold digger youngster - I would be happy for him

It was filmed in and around Eastbourne and Bexhill.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2020 22:06

Oh wow. My area - well near it

Neighbour /best friend seems cynical and maybe jealous

Slightly annoying the younger daughter having an affair with the boss that's so not been done before haha

CoolCarrie · 24/02/2020 22:07

I liked I think and think Imelda was the other woman that had the affair with the dad of the family, and it’s Stephen Rea’s body on the beach, we will see.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2020 22:19

Blonde daughter is Pam Crocker daughter from ee

I quite enjoyed it. I’ll see if I can manage the rest of the week.

Honeyroar · 24/02/2020 22:29

I quite enjoyed it too. I’m glad they’re running it on consecutive nights, I’ve a chance of remembering! Imelda’s character is creepy. Nice theory CoolCarrie, although I hope you’ve not guessed right so soon!

notanotherjigsawpiece · 24/02/2020 22:35

I loved it - can’t wait for tomorrow night. That part where Mark caught Imelda Staunton’s character watching them with the binoculars! It gave me goosebumps

lazymum99 · 24/02/2020 22:48

It’s good. Did Mark cause her collapse?

Ariela · 24/02/2020 22:52

@CoolCarrie - that's my thinking too.

Knittingnanny · 24/02/2020 23:10

The creepy neighbour gave her cheese straws, maybe she is poisoning her.

TeeniefaeTroon · 24/02/2020 23:32

I was a bit disappointed to be honest. Hope it gets better tomorrow night.

Stuckupsnob · 25/02/2020 02:23

I was expecting Cold Feet to still be on, and then Flesh and Blood started. Never seen it before but I watched the espisode and it looks good. Looking forward to the next one.

RAOK · 25/02/2020 02:35

I enjoyed it. I like all this sort of stuff.

AnyFucker · 25/02/2020 02:38

.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 25/02/2020 07:19

Oh yes the cheese straws! Forgot about that

GertrudeCB · 25/02/2020 07:28

I quite enjoyed it, Its a grower.

UntamedWisteria · 25/02/2020 07:59

I didn't think it was very good.

Full of cliched characters and rather derivative - the Imelda Staunton role was reminiscent of Notes on a Scandal. And it was very similar to Gold Digger which was on v recently.

And does Stephen Rea dye his hair? Didn't like Francesca Annis' bad dye job either.

But I'll probably watch it again tonight.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2020 08:02

Yes, Mary is definitely creepy and potentially an unreliable narrator. She seems to be living almost vicariously through the main family's lives. How did she think she'd get away with purloining the beautiful summer dressing gown?

Excellent cast and I thought it was Francesca Annis playing the mum. She is still beautiful.

purpleme12 · 25/02/2020 08:06

I liked it. Not amazing or anything but good enough to keep watching so far!

GetOffYourHighHorse · 25/02/2020 08:52

It was ok, bit too similar to gold digger as others have said what with outraged relatives been introduced to the new man within minutes of been told about him. Surely if you had such self centred unpleasant kids you'd warn them and give them chance for it to sink in before an awkward first meeting.

Still, for a drama I quite liked it. Imelda Staunton as an ott weird next door neighbour is funny what with wearing the dressing gown and then returning it.

Francesca Annis looks great, think she could do much better than that hunched bloke with the badly dyed hair though.
