New itv series - 4 parts - runs mon to thur

When recently widowed Vivienne announces her love for new man Mark, it throws the family of adult children into chaos

With their large family home and inheritance at risk , the siblings try to find out more about their mums new love

Sounds like the recent toy boy drama and mum meets new man ....... minus being a toy boy 😂😂

Well the kids are making out to the police that everything was fine, prior to the body bag.. so maybe they bump him off or they're protecting their mum?

I agree Honeyroar she definitely didn't fancy him when she saw him in the shower. I couldn't work out what she was doing with the charity shop clothes - making bunting?

I really haven't been able to watch it in detail. I keep getting interrupted.
I'll probably learn more from this thread.
It's gripping though.
And yes compared to gold digger it's way up there on every level. Smile

Could Mark be Mary's ex-husband who "left her for another woman" after she lost her baby son?

I also wondered if Mary was doctoring her baking gifts with the stolen Viagra and this was what caused Francesca Annis's "collapse", given that Viagra was first used to treat high blood pressure IIRC.
She did say to Mary that her test results were all normal but that they thought she'd collapsed due to a sudden drop in her blood pressure.

Really enjoying it and the chirpy music gives it an Agatha Christie type vibe for me.

I think she was giving her baked goods before she stole the viagra but I think she maybe slowing poisoning her
I think dodgy doc is a red herring and it will prob turn out to be a minor character who does the killing but no idea who.
Hope it has a “ proper” ending

Mark really hasn't much going for him ! I'm no oil painting myself , but he has horrible unkempt hair and looks like he could with a good nights sleep. She is beautiful , if a bit 'vague' at times and wouldn't look at him twice in real life I bet! I suppose his attentive but that would wear off after a while.
Anyway , we're no further forward really apart from what Stella has discovered and she is playing with fire telling Jake that info about him.
Mary looks like she does this a lot, takes her charity bags and wears her cast offs or makes things with them ' bit odd ! Could be a sari ? As someone said on here.
I think pregnant daughter is actually pregnant and just saying she isn't so he can go back to his wife.
The detective saying 'patient' all the time!

He was rushing to do that fence. She can go round the front though! 😊did make me laugh.

I did wonder if one of the girls belong to Mary and Vivian brought her up : the dad had an affair with her and she couldn't cope , had another one that died so they had this arrangement she would be brought up with the others or something as Mary was poor ?
Last one tonight. I'm probably wrong about everything!

I think Mary and him do know each other. The bottle breaking was significant somehow?I don't get that impression. I think she just broke the bottle to spook him. If they knew each other surely they would have said something when they were alone. Mary loves Viv and is jealous of him.

There's probably more to Stella than meets the eye.

@The80sweregreat Mary gave Vivien a picture of an imaginary cat, drawn by one of the children as a child, can't remember who. Wonder if this could be one who Mary had, as a result of an affair with first husband, but Vivien and first husband brought up.

Stella as Mark's wife could be true although she might be a bit young (not sure how hold she is but not in her 60s/70s) his daughter maybe? She could have made up the story about his first wife dying. Surely these things are easier to find out in RL. Not that I've tried but births, marriages and deaths are registered.

I like the idea of Stella steeling viagra and giving to viven in food

She appears to be a nice neighbour but def has jealous issues. Maybe over 3 kids as her died :(

Is is really true about Mark's wife. Did Jake do his own research or rely on Stella's information? Mark looks so dodgy, medicating Viv, and now she seems to be having second thoughts. It seems too obvious plot wise.
