OMG just flicking thru TV guide..... Monday night!!

Everyone in my first office had an ashtray in their desk and a cigarette going for most of the day. Restaurants and aeroplanes had non smoking "areas", as a concession to the few who didn't smoke. What's amazing to me is how recently all that changed.

I’ve binged watched six episodes today I loved it so much and still think it’s great. It’s definitely of its time though.

Does anyone know if they’re showing series 2? I’ll be so disappointed if they’re not!!

I’ve just looked at the listings for the next couple of weeks and no series 2

I was telling teen ds about smoking at the back of aeroplanes and how cinemas had one side smoking and the other non smoking. He had to go and check with his dad as he thought I was winding him up

I think it is mentioned at some point that Egg’s first degree wasn’t in Law?

I assumed that Egg Anna and Warren did different UG degrees then did a post grad conversion to law? Then it might have taken Anna longer to get on the BVC than E and W to the LPC.

I loved it- I took Anna as the template for my young adulthood

They do still seem very like people I knew from Uni etc. Egg especially - he could of easily been one of my friends.

I remember reading a review at the time that thought it unbelievable that lawyers in London would have to house share. Surely they’d be able to afford their own places.

I'm guessing the reviewer either didn't live in London or was wildly over-estimating what newly qualified lawyers earned, Francina670!

Egg’s dad was in Downton Abbey as William’s dad. I remember being faintly disgusted by Anna shagging him in This Life.

Anna and Egg's dad

Well Kira last night has inspired me to go out and buy some flat black ankle boots

I only caught the party episode last night (which is ok as i have the box set anyway so am going to watch from the beginning tonight!). Bu the sight of Eggs dads white shagging bum was an unwelcome reminder .....

I was also 23 when this first aired and it partly inspired me to work in the legal field, I didn't train but have worked in law in various different guises over the last 20 years, some of it in London. Some of the 'working dinners' with barristers were fab as they were all like Anna!

My favourite characters were always Anna (for obvious reasons), Miles (because i fancied him and also fancied a bloke back home who looked just like him), and finally Kira - because she was so very much like me, I used to dress like her, had similar hair and i would definitely have shagged Jo I was envious that she had such cool friends

I don't think it has dated, it was evocative of the time but in a far more successful way than Friends IMO.

The 10 year reunion episode was shit though

Re: Egg's dad and Anna. At the time, I thought "Yuck" and that he was prehistoric. Now discover that I'm about a year older than the actor playing Jerry was at the time! Still don't know why she fancied him, though. Didn't particularly like Miles at the time of first airing, but now see he has a naughty smirk which is pretty attractive.

When I first watched it I thought the same about Milly and O'Donnell @drigon. And I still do! He wasn't attractive at all! But maybe that was the point.

Where is series 2? They’re just taking the piss!!!

I have been rewatching it over last few months since got season 1-2 box set. Only finished season 1 2 weeks ago!
And then of course it comes on tv!
So I will watch season 2 and hopefully it will appear on bbc for the rest of you!
I fancied joe the most, he was lovely.
I have also if you like lawyer shows watched "north square" on channel 4 catch up, set in 1990s Leeds barristers chambers.

Loved North Square, that really should have been commissioned for more series.
