Ten points to DarlingNikita who spotted my deliberate mistake - I meant, of course, "cutting the judges' comments to make it LOOK as though they are sending home the wrong people." Ahem.

DS is both! We both agreed they smelt like Christmas when they were baking.

Those scones look lush. I also have a ds who bakes so we will give those a whirl

Placemarking for later, I had to do a massive catch up as hadn't watched for ages but caught up now.

Who are people wanting to win? I like steff more than David or Alice.

FYI tvtimes mag got a decent feature on bake off this week.

I like David on the TV the best out of the three (but not so much on Twitter), think Steph has been the most consistent baker, but some of Alice’s bakes ( eg those honeycomb biscuit bars) have really made me want to make them ( which I can’t say of many of them this year).
So in a nutshell - don’t really mind who wins!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say a baker with five letters in their name is going to win tonight.

I'd like Steph to win. David second choice

Out of them all, I want rosie to win.

So make a showstopper cake in two hours. Ugh.

I've really hated o Paul Hollywood more than usual this series

Pears sound like a dangerous choice!

I miss Rosie already. I think Steph will win. It fits with the narrative of what they've edited for us.

Chocolate and prune cake sounds delicious to me. I have a slice of my grandson's fabulous Snickers cake to eat this evening.

Plus, if we're going for rewarding the most consistent contestant, then Steph is the obvious choice.

Ds just watched Sandi and Noel's skit and asked in all seriousness if they were supposed to be comedians

There are some interesting family dynamics going on

some of the families seem a little ........ odd

Ugh Paul Hollywood perving on Alice. She even says he's making her uncomfortable and he looks her up and down once more. Skin crawl.

Alice looks like she was an annoying child

They all seem to be from VERY reserved families

To be honest I'd cheer on a relative from the sofa but wouldn't want to do a twee tv segment for them.

Did anyone else hear Paul almost call prue Mary at one point, when they were talking about the black forest cake and pushing a cart? Or did I mishear that?

David's cake is straight out of a Delia book.
