From watching the vt it sounds like Steph is seeing bake off as a career choice.

I think she may have been set to win from the start so they can kick start a TV/book deal.

See in terms of what I'd prefer to eat steffs real chocolate cake with cherry would be my choice even if I didn't know it was hers.

Prunes I like the taste of but they don't agree with me (FAR too good at their well known effect) and I don't like Armagnac.

I don't like pears at all and I'm with Paul that a chocolate cake should have real chocolate in it, just cocoa and you don't really get the flavour of chocolate.

Stilton soufflé - well I LOVE cheese but soufflé is a suitably difficult technical for family.

How can you be an experienced cook/baker and NOT know how to make a roux??

What boring cakes, this is supposed to be the final, no ones cake was spot on and only one of them actually tried to do somthing different and interesting.

You know what I agree that steff may be recovering from a mh issue, or possibly recent divorce?

If so I hope if she wins she is looked after properly. Nadiya had similar issues and said at times all the publicity and attention after was sometimes a little bit too much.

I think often people forget fame very much has downsides too.
