Alright racers!

Who's seen the new trailer and eagerly anticipating the launch? Any early favourites?

I've heard rumours it's going to be stupidly good, up there with s5/6 of the original version.

Anyone watching?

hopscotchz · 14/11/2019 20:53

Me! Just finished, great episode. I love when they do make overs and having the mums and sisters was very emotional

aristocat · 14/11/2019 21:14

I love the makeover challenges too Smile

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 14/11/2019 22:25

Excellent episode. So pleased I stuck with it after hating episode 1. Tonight's was fabulous. I think the right person went taking the whole season into account and that they were a bit one note/had the easiest transformation to do. Also that song in fairness if you are doing Amy you need emotion in it rather than just slickness.
Divina's sister came across very well indeed. Lovely lass. If she's on here (!) or due to be on here soon - you kicked ass Flowers
The mums were definitely harder to make over - am sorry the panel didn't seem to get the Kardashian reference...Carcrashian was a joke given to them on a plate. Must also have been hard for the contestants to have personal relationships put out there like that. All four did very well indeed. Shame about the split zip. I reckon my mum would've been there with a sewing machine adding a panel but daresay would have made little difference to the end result.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 14/11/2019 22:27

God I love the Brit Crew. I don't think they look like they mind being objectified tbh - the two were super cute when the mums beamed at them tonight bless.

Haworthia · 14/11/2019 22:37

Baga does Amy as part of her act, apparently. Rigga morris! Grin

hopscotchz · 15/11/2019 07:37

I felt sorry for Bagga's mum, I know she is shy but she agreed to be in the show and support him and he was being a bit harsh and didn't let her speak at all!
Maybe he was nervous and trying to protect her but it came across very wrong!!

JorisBonson · 15/11/2019 08:55

I've fallen in love with Divina even more after this week!

Felt so sorry for Baga's mum (Sacka Spuds did make me laugh though). I'm not sure who should have won that lip sync.

Avihoot · 15/11/2019 17:10

I'm not sure the right person did go home this week. I have a sneaky feeling there was a bit of a fix going on. Baga's makeover of his mum was shite and the judges all said Cheryl's choreography was the best. I actually thought Cheryl should have stayed.

It doesn't seem to be a popular opinion on this thread, or at least, I am not sure anyone has said this, but I want the Vivienne to win. His make up and creativity and all round ability shines for me each week. Yeah, Davina is clever, but a bit too abrasive for my liking.

Izzabellasasperella · 15/11/2019 17:59

Yes Avihoot it did feel like a bit of a fix to keep Bagga in, her runway was awful but she is a 'character' on the show.
I agree with your views on Divina and the Vivienne. Bagga is funny but doesn't have the same artistry.

Evilmorty · 15/11/2019 18:04

Oh I didn’t know there was a thread on this! I love the British version, it’s a different beast but still so much fun. Like a cousin to the original US version.

I really really liked Davina until she went all weird and started arguing for no reason and saying how she had it in the bag. I actually really like all of the ones left over except her, I loved Cheryl when she wasn’t in character, I could see James as one of my rl friends.

JorisBonson · 15/11/2019 18:05

Totally fixed towards Baga!

2Rebecca · 15/11/2019 20:04

I think Bagga was mean about his mum and showed a total lack of empathy but there was some truth in him saying a shy middle aged woman with poor eyesight was harder to work with than an extrovert young woman like the winner had. It doesnt explain why he didnt understand the task of making his mum look as much like him as possible and why he made himself look glamorous and his mum look like a caricature. One of the others ? Davina refused to let his mum have the best wig as well

2Rebecca · 15/11/2019 20:05

I think the poorer lipsincher for that song left.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 15/11/2019 20:15

Ah, see, I might have put Baga in bottom 2 in other weeks and I do think she has poorer catwalks (lack of finances?) but although Chezza excels at lipsyncing and catwalk (albeit similar choreo/Essex style every time) Baga seemed to emote/understand the lyrics of Tears dry on their own more.
My favourite - Sum Ting - went out early so I don't mind The Vivienne taking the title. James is versatile. Also their Snatch Game was brilliant.
But the challenge yesterday was basically unequal before they had even started, Divina and Cheryl were at a distinct advantage.
I think they should have had 4 butch sports men like on the US version that were similar in size/weight and attitude. Because if it was a case of making a mini me, Cheryl definitely achieved that with the make up.
It would have been fairer to have the same starting points for all four.

No I completely agree. I think Viv has gotten the "villain edit" in several episodes but has actually come across as quite genuine. I was quite moved by the confessions about drugs and his relationship with his Mum was really nice. And is by far the most talented as far as I'm concerned. Unreal mimicry, amazing makeup and fantastic outfits.

Davina has always underwhelmed me, despite her assuring us every week that she "got it in the bag".

Really enjoyed Cheryl's sister. I want to go out for cocktails with her.

Felt really uncomfortable with the way Bagga talked about her Mum. Poor Jo. Obvs a lot of history there, not all positive.

Davina's sister is BEAUTIFUL.

I actually think the right lip syncer went home. I'm sad about it, because they were one of my fave contestants, but I was expecting far more from that performance.

Strugglingmum73 · 16/11/2019 08:38

Poor Baga’s mum. Very uncomfortable to watch and put me off Bags as a person. I’m not that keen on The Vivienne but think she deserves to win as has been consistently good.

iklboo · 16/11/2019 09:21

I was annoyed Baga wouldn't let his mum get a word on edgeways. He spoke over her all the time. I was shouting at the telly 'just let her bloody speak!'

JumpiestBat · 16/11/2019 10:58

Yes I agree Bags seemed uncomfortable and his mum even more so. I suppose we don't know the backstories really but I agree he lost some of his warmth unfortunately.

ElspethFlashman · 16/11/2019 12:40

Bagga response: "No one knows my life sorry. I'm not a victim but it's been hard. Be kind"

Most liked response from a follower :
"I'm not going to judge you (since I don't know you), but if you may, I'll use your phrase against you.

Be kind."

ElspethFlashman · 16/11/2019 12:41

*life STORY, not life sorry

Baga & Divina get ready for the final together

WhatOnEarth8 · 16/11/2019 17:17

Just watched it. Can't believe this, used to love Baga but I've always thought her runway outfits were tacky. Honestly her runway this week with her mum was dreadful, definitely the worst and the way she talked about her mum! I've been watched Drag Race for quite a while and so much is faked and planned. This was definitely a ploy to have the final contestants with 3 badges each. Either way, I hope The Vivienne or Davina wins. (Side Note- Davina's outfits were the second worst in my mind. Glad Michaela spoke up, they were well tacky!)

WhatOnEarth8 · 16/11/2019 17:22

Cheryl did worse in the lipsync but wish it could have ended differently. If Baga wins this I am throwing my laptop out the window. Queens with unpolished looks have won but this is a step too far. Did you see the rainy day one!?? She has a nasty side and I'm not sure if I like it.
