Oh, good.. They spoilt it abit though didn't they? Did they really need to confirm that Rose really did come back?

TinkerbellesMum · 10/06/2008 22:38

No one answered this, the reason he likes to stand by the door and find the gift shop is for a quick exit - gift shops are always by the exit!

Maybe exchanging names is a wedding ritual?

Tink's brother apparently was more upset by this episode than Blink and he still has to look at statues as he passes them and skips over the page in his annual! We were going to take them to the exhibition at the weekend, but he's too scared (we're going to a Wacky Warehouse type thing instead )

I do get upset by the things they let out, I would have loved it when it turned out Yana was the Master, but we found out before and it spoiled it. I find that often with programmes and written stories that they give too much away that in the story they don't till it happens and you end up thinking "If only I hadn't known that, it would have been good".

KayHarker · 11/06/2008 11:07

well, Rose coming back wasn't really a plot secret, given that she's in the very first episode. And you don't know how she's coming back and what she's going to be like (and if you were confused by the library plotline, it's not going to get any better for you! )

FWIW, the next episode is getting fantastic reviews from everyone I know who has seen it, and the less you know about it, the better it'll be.

serenity · 11/06/2008 11:33

Thank you for mentioning the exhibition! We're on half term this week (yeah, I know two weeks later than everyone else) and I completely forgot that we were going to go the Earls Court one now, thus avoiding going when it's busy with Other People's Children. We're going on Monday now (yay! squeee! and other overexcited noises)

I'm deeply disappointed that the BBc haven't rescheduled this saturdays DW After all, they put Eurovision on instead when we went on holiday, just so we wouldn't miss an episode I shall have to watch it on Sunday when I get back from swanking around in an evening dress at some football dinner thing.

Re Stephan Moffet, he's a bloody genius imo. I don't care about plot hole tbh. I can quite happily suspend disbelief, and most of the time inconsistancies wash right over me. Good grief, pretty much all I watch is 'Cult' TV and no off it makes any real sense if you look at it that hard.

Anyone watching Supernatural btw? I need someone squee with over the finale (which I've seen but I'm prepared to wait until ITV2/4 whatever shows it )

serenity · 11/06/2008 11:35

'no' = 'none'

must learn to preview, I'm too used to sites with an edit facility

UnquietDad · 11/06/2008 11:39

Interesting to hear that about next episode, KayH - I was looking forward to it enormously until I read/saw the previews and now I've found myself wondering if it's the cheap and pants filler of the series. Your comments give me new hope!

As for trailers giving stuff away, there's always a trade-off between a "surprise" re-appearance which could be blown (they got away with it, just, with the Daleks at the end of series 2) and a big, high-profile piece of publicity which could give them a Radio Times cover and an extra million viewers. They're right to go for the latter if they can.

TinkerbellesMum · 11/06/2008 12:52

Have you seen them Kay?

Serenity, try iplayer on the BBC and ITV have their own version which I haven't used as I don't watch much ITV anymore, or much TV but the Beeb have the few that I do see. Also, have you got Google bar? It wouldn't pick up things like you did but it helps with the spell checker before you post. I'm always surprised how many things it picks up that I missed

serenity · 11/06/2008 13:06

Thanks TinkerbellesMum, I'm fine - we have Tiscali/Homechoice so DW will be on VOD for a week so I'll watch it when I get home on Sunday

I've just got to learn to think slower, brain and fingers don't quite sync - I'm thinking about the next sentence before I've finished the first!

KayHarker · 11/06/2008 15:56

Nope, I've not seen them, just pictures from filming and that sort of thing. Can't stand suspense, me

Monkeytrousers · 11/06/2008 17:34

I just bought the time travellers wife at a charity shop today - is there any relation to DW?

UnquietDad · 11/06/2008 17:35

No, although some argued that the Doctor and River's relationship from "Silence in the Library" was inspired by it.

Monkeytrousers · 11/06/2008 18:44

have you read it UQD? Can men enjoy it too? I will get DP to read it!

UnquietDad · 11/06/2008 23:29

Um... sorry, it's one of the few books I gave up on a very short way in...

Frizbe · 12/06/2008 22:56

MT I'm about half way through that book, I can't see any particular relationship so far, although I'm afriad to say I have strayed from it and read a few others too (so that tells me I'm struggling with it like UQD)

Frizbe · 12/06/2008 22:57

well no other relationship other than timey wimey obviously!

Monkeytrousers · 12/06/2008 23:27

I'm a quarter way through but only bought it at a charity shop yesterday. I have to say I am finding it quite charming and love the flawed nature of the characters

KayHarker · 13/06/2008 18:52

We're so nearly full, thought I'd start a New fred.

KatyMac · 13/06/2008 18:53

But there are 7 6 whole posts left - isn't that a bit wasteful?

KayHarker · 13/06/2008 18:58

Well, the next four episodes are going to rattle the plot along at a fair old lick, and I reckon we could probably fill 6 5 posts with stuff about the sonic screwdriver, couldn't we?

(I thought it was a bit over a 1000 posts anyway?)

RustyDaviesBear · 05/07/2008 22:00

If we can have two doctors at the same time, aybe we should have two threads going at the same time - this ones not quite dead yet....

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 22:03

Blimey - that really confused me - I was thinking 'why isn't it highlighted - I've read that one'.

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 22:03

(and now I won't have a clue which is which)

RustyDaviesBear · 05/07/2008 22:04

Well, it's wasteful not to finish this one off...

Will I be able to add just one more?
