Yes, I thought it was his voice at the time, SueBaroo. Very, very cool.

UnquietDad · 17/06/2007 13:34

Just to answer some questions from previous thread & this:

Aitch - no, there are two more episodes. 12 and 13.

forget who asked - RTD writes about half the episodes each series. He's writing all of this final three-parter.

jenk1 - RTD is Russell T Davies, chief writer and exec. producer. The T doesn't stand for anythig, much like the S in Harry S Truman. He uses it to distinguish himself from the other Russell Davies who sometimes appears on R4.

SueBaroo - it was Delgado, from "The Daemons". "And you will give me that power!" And I think there was an Anthony Ainley chuckle when he was looking at the watch.

Aitch · 17/06/2007 14:05

what was the daemons? and delgado?

JackieNo · 17/06/2007 14:13

Roger Delgado .

JackieNo · 17/06/2007 14:14

And The Daemons .

JackieNo · 17/06/2007 14:17

(or was that not what you meant - Delgado's voice was in some of the bits that Derek Jacobi was 'hearing' in last night's episode)

Aitch · 17/06/2007 14:24

oh that is, to use the modern parlance, Well Cool. thanks jackie .

Mossy · 17/06/2007 14:32

Oh brilliant so I wasn't imagining it! Yes I thought I heard a bit of an Ainley laugh as well, wasn't sure...

serenity · 17/06/2007 15:44

Anthony Ainley was 'my' Master,

UnquietDad · 17/06/2007 16:22

From the BBC site's own Utopia Factfile:

"Among the sounds heard by the troubled Professor Yana are the words and laughter of earlier incarnations of The Master.

The Doctor has now encountered six versions of The Master. The actors who have played him are:

Master No. One - Roger Delgado (1971-73)
Master No. Two - Peter Pratt (1976) and Geoffrey Beevers (1981)
Master No. Three - Anthony Ainley (1981-1989)
Master No. Four - Eric Roberts (1996)
Master No. Five - Sir Derek Jacobi (2007)
Master No. Six - John Simm (2007)"

MASTER NO.SIX is of course an anagram of MISTER SAXON !

pointydog · 17/06/2007 16:44

chan it was very exciting doh

pointydog · 17/06/2007 16:45

chan and the pointydogs will be talking like this for a long time to come doh

Mossy · 17/06/2007 17:34

Aha! So it was Master No. Six, after all that!

I wish I had a Tardis. I'd travel to next Saturday so I could watch next week's episode.

God how boring does that make me? The entirety of time and space at my disposal and I go to next Saturday night!

MrsWho · 17/06/2007 18:29

Can I come too Mossy? (then can we go to the week after?)

DH asks whether yesterday's episode puts a whole new complexion on In The Night Garden...

JackieNo · 17/06/2007 20:10

I mostly managed to resist the urge to shout out 'Tell us about the Ninky-Nonk Derek' (but not quite)

MrsWho · 17/06/2007 20:12

I am watching for the 4th time now and still seeing new stuff!

foxinsocks · 17/06/2007 20:20

that was me UQD asking about how many episodes RTD writes (I'm so forgettable obviously ). Thanks for the info though. Wasn't sure how many he had written but you can spot his episodes a mile off - I do love his humourous touches!

pointydog · 17/06/2007 20:27

Isn't Professor Yana just like one of the older Dr's

WHen he first meets the Dr it is so like an old Dr

(I just can't remember which one?)

MrsWho · 17/06/2007 21:03

I do like John Simm being giddy!

And Martha realising who he is!
