Did Ames die as well as Nero?

GnotherGnu · 15/03/2018 00:26

I thought one of the bodies they looked at was Ames, but couldn't swear to it.

diddl · 15/03/2018 11:30

Me too!

So is Bright retiring?

Hopefully Thursday in the next series, but I like Bright as well.

icelolly99 · 15/03/2018 12:05

Diddl have you watched the last episode?

OP posts:
diddl · 15/03/2018 12:14

Yes I have-although it might not seem like it!

Bright said that he was going to resign didn't he?

Was that his final decision though?

ppeatfruit · 15/03/2018 13:12

icelolly The much missed Victoria Wood, Celia Imrie, Anne Reid. Maxine Peake ( I could go on!! have you guessed `I watched the chat programme about Dinner Ladies last night twas brilliant Grin ).

ppeatfruit · 15/03/2018 13:13

Oh and Joanne Froggatt (sp?).

BitOfFun · 16/03/2018 02:16

Sarah Lancashire has got to be among that echelon of devastatingly subtle actors.

ImListening · 17/03/2018 21:16

Just watched final episode. I won’t hear a word against Bright. I love Thursday & hope he doesn’t get into trouble because of his feckless brother. I would like him to get Brights job & Sail into the sunset with —me— Win at the end of the series Wink

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/03/2018 21:25

I was just thinking about Endeavour and the spot on casting , the chemistry between the main players is outstanding. Having said that I also like the main players in Shetland , they are of course helped out by the spectacular scenery.

GnotherGnu · 18/03/2018 08:35

What was the chat programme about Dinner Ladies, ppeatfruit?

Yorkshirebetty · 18/03/2018 10:53

I enjoyed the last episode, although when Fancy was sitting in the car, I wondered if he was a goner. Thursday now can't afford to retire, but I'm pleased he'll be back. Very touching moment with Bright, referring to his lost child "the tropics". Poignant.

ppeatfruit · 18/03/2018 10:56

It was called The Dinner Ladies' Diary on Gold Gnother.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 18/03/2018 11:04

icelolly
You’ll be needing Lesley Manville for that group then Smile .

TheOriginalChatelaine · 18/03/2018 11:06

Yes, another fan here! I've watched all the episodes of Endeavour. So glad Fred Thursday is not retiring (a bit selfish of me I know!) I was a fan of Morse from the beginning and I find Endeavour so poignant, knowing what follows. I can still watch repeats of these series, usually when I'm working in the kitchen. They are well written. Anything with well delivered English is a joy. I miss Foyle's War so much for the same reasons.

ImListening · 18/03/2018 20:29

It’s Sunday night & I’m having Endeavour withdrawal symptoms Wink

Cherrypi · 18/03/2018 20:46

I'm watching Morse from itv4.

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2018 09:18

Yes Judas Though I find Sarah Lancashire and The Doctor actress a bit annoying sometimes. Maybe because they both have only a couple of expressions.

GeekyBlinders · 20/03/2018 18:39

Is Morse on the itv hub?

fussychica · 22/03/2018 17:23

Yes it is.
Just watched the final episode. Shame about Fancy but at least it wasn't Thursday. Roger Allam has such a wonderful voice, the programme just wouldn't be the same without him.

diddl · 05/05/2018 19:29

I'm just rewatching some old series.

Anton Lesser is just fabulous isn't he?

Anyone remember the one with the tiger & he's recalling time in India & shooting a tiger that was taking his comrade away?

CoolCarrie · 07/05/2018 21:35

Yes the man eater! Slightly mad episode, but always great acting. I loved the creepy one about the girls school, that was excellent, the ending was moving.

diddl · 08/05/2018 13:45

Yes it was an odd one!

It's when he's telling the story & Trewlove says how heroic it all is & Bright says something like, "no, a hero would have saved his comrade".

Just heartbreaking.
