I love Endeavour but alwAys makes me feel sad , especially when the Morse music kicks in . Tonight’s eye welling started when Thursday was talking about family and ending up by yourself in a flat with a bottle . ( been away so catching up ) loved Morse so much .

Eolian · 18/02/2018 20:20

Love Endeavour! I think Shaun Evans is great, but Thursday is my favourite. I'm a big fan of Roger Allam, especially in Cabin Pressure.

cloudyweewee · 18/02/2018 20:31

Morse just visited what I think was Crossroads motel in Kings Oak!! Wonder whose idea that was?!

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 18/02/2018 20:34

I know! I just said Kings Oak - isn’t that... and Crossroads appeared

LIZS · 18/02/2018 20:48

Yes what's with the Crossroads connection? Did it not postdate this era?

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 18/02/2018 21:08

And was that ‘Amy Turtle’ standing at reception?

LIZS · 18/02/2018 21:10

Or Meg Richardson?

tenpencemixup · 18/02/2018 21:27

I love watching endeavour. I'm really into the period and watching the characters develop. But I seem to have missed a pivotal episode. Why is morse so sad, and what is the history with his boss's daughter?

blackbunny · 18/02/2018 21:51

Think it was Jill Richardson and Amy Turtle at the reception desk...

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 18/02/2018 21:56

Of course blackbunny!

cloudyweewee · 18/02/2018 21:57

No sign of Miss Diane or Benny Sad

TheScottishPlay · 18/02/2018 22:09

I love Endeavour too. Roger Allam and Shaun Evans are wonderful actors. I get very caught up in it.

PickleFish · 18/02/2018 22:23

I found the end of tonight's episode kind of confusing though. What happened to the trainspotter guy?

seemed to be lots of loose ends

icelolly99 · 18/02/2018 22:28

#SPOILER ALERT# @ Picklefish He was the murderer of the girl from a few years before (thats why her shoes and badge were in his loft) and it looks like he tried to attack the pregnant station masters wife; she fought back, he ran off police gave chase and he decides to end it all by being hit by the train.

icelolly99 · 18/02/2018 22:30

..... Bit annoyed PC Loveday didn't directly tell Morse she saw his stolen possessions Hmm

PickleFish · 18/02/2018 22:30

Thanks. I knew what he'd done, but didn't quite see him being hit by the train - they didn't seem to show that very clearly, and I couldn't tell if he'd been hit, or if he'd run through. The train didn't stop or anything, so I assumed they'd just lost him in the chase.

I don't know why he decided to attack the pregnant wife, either.

Seemed a strange mix of coincidences tonight. But I still enjoy it.

YellowPrimula · 19/02/2018 09:21

Loved the Crosswoads reference , as soon as they said Kings Oak I thought Crossroads ! They had even set up the reception the same and the sign . Bit distracting from the story but still good . What is his problem with Joan , obviously we know it doesn’t happen but wondered what the issue was ?

CoolCarrie · 19/02/2018 11:57

I said the same thing to dh, why didn’t she buy the record for Morse, I would have. It was the one that was signed by the opera singer from the first episode. Morse really was smitten with her.
Joan isn’t his little girl anymore and Thursday isn’t happy about that, he is very family oriented, and he was protective of her, as he knows only too well how terrible the world can be because he sees in his job every day. I think he feels guilty that he couldn’t protect her in the episode with the hostages in the bank.

When Joan was living away after the bank robbery she was seeing a married man. Thursday found out and tried to scare him off. The married man then attacked Joan and she lost the baby. I think that explains the recent hostilities with her dad and why Thursday is so cagey around her although he didn't know about the attack I don't think.

tillytubby · 22/02/2018 14:54

Should say I think not I don't think (double negative ah!)

PhuntSox · 22/02/2018 17:23

Morse can claim his records back from evidence eventually I expect.

I bet the shouty man from Robbery is the murderer. He was mean to the lovely man who shot a tiger. I think soon we will move to Thames Valley and, eventually, see Morse's little office with the radio.

cloudyweewee · 23/02/2018 13:07

Just seen Shaun Evans on Loose Women and didn't realise he speaks with a full on scouse accent in real life. Even sexier now Grin

PhuntSox · 23/02/2018 14:50
Grin

Hes a lovely actor!

icelolly99 · 23/02/2018 15:41

I don't watch LW but I'll be looking for this episode on Catch Up Grin
