Bloody hell only just watched! I don't think Steve's dead but will be in a critical condition. It wasn't Ros's DH though but someone who knew Steve would be there or someone looking to do in the DH and did Steve by mistake. Or something else...I have no clue

Ros's DH was using prostitutes I reckon, including Hana, that's why his car was around the area, but do we know how Ros got there when she went to visit Tim? Did she use his car?

The new boy, Jamie, did Ted say where he'd come from? Something going on there...

Loving Maneet btw! When Steve said something like we need to look into all the evidence and she was all "err that's what we're spending all our time doing Sarge!"

The 13/30 thing surely will come back, aren't they thinking its fishy that that was the crucial Tim evidence and mistake made on the marking up?! Think Ros is suspicious of Kate now cos of her checking it and is keeping her close.

Hmmm there are so many possibilities, I definitely think I need to rewatch all 3 episodes again and make notes

And I still can't bear TN and her BRF!

motherinferior DH and I love the solicitor. Love how half asleep and shit he is at his job until forced to act. Great character creation with nothing to go on.

farley123 · 10/04/2017 22:45

I don't see how Tim had time to leave dna at Hana's flat ... In episode 1, Roz sends Josie an email dated 17th March (which is the date Tim was murdered), then we see Tim visit Hana's café where she offers him the breakfast menu, then we see him at work in police uniform, - unless he visits her flat after work and before going home to start cooking dinner by 6.30pm (the time that Roz's husband's car is seen near his flat) but that seems a bit of a tight timeline.

It is interesting that the cctv of Nick Huntley's car is from a junction a quarter of a mile away from Tim's flat - so doesn't prove that he was actually there.

Did anybody notice that the Forensics store guy (the one Roz sends to look for a phone/laptop while she swaps the evidence bags) was Chris Coghill (who was Tony, Whitney's stepdad from EastEnders). He is on the credits as 'Kevin' - wonder if he will have a bigger role to play?

Roz's career break to raise her children keeps being mentioned, but she doesn't seem like someone who would put their career on hold for motherhood and her children look possibly secondary school aged - that is a big career break for someone with her ambition. I'm sure that there must be more to this. Could her boss be the father of one of her children? There is definitely something very unsettling about how she is around him.

Cary2012 · 10/04/2017 22:52

Agree about the chemistry between Roz and her boss, it's very unnerving, there is history between those two.

Arnott will probably be bouncing around next week, elastoplast on his forehead and a bandage round his wrist, he's made of strong stuff he is.

Rattata · 10/04/2017 22:56

I also don't see how Ifield was at Han's flat - I thought she would deny it. I kind of assumed the dna evidence was planted (in advance of the search by Roz perhaps?)

I though the police boss implied Roz had some problem earlier in her career (rather than just a sabbatical to raise kids) - can't recall his exact words.

diddl · 10/04/2017 23:13

It is frustrating though isn't it when you know stuff & they don't & you're thinking "no, don't be taken in by that!!"

Whywaitfortomorrow · 10/04/2017 23:14

Could just be coincidence but when Nick is on phone, ACC Hilton is also about to pick up a call, just before he asks Roz to leave his office after touching her arm.

I think this time, it could be more than one 'bent copper', maybe whole team.

Balaclava man most likely was sent to do away with Nick but receives phone call to intercept Steve on floor 3 ? Can't recall time of day it happens, but the building was very empty.

Aarrgghhh - this is driving me insane, not getting any work done !!!

FeralBeryl · 10/04/2017 23:26

Right - after sleeping on it, I reckon there is some kind of higher up masony type porn ring going on. I think Ted knows about it and is being super misogynistic to try and get closer, the ACC is involved. He has sent Jamie (Jimmy?) to get closer to the investigation. Roz's husband was involved but too nervy and became a loose end once he was needed for questioning so bally man number 3 was sent to do him in.
Erm that's it for now Grin

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 10/04/2017 23:27

Bloody hell - Hilton! Good spot whywait. Nothing is a coincidence!

DispatchReady · 10/04/2017 23:58

But who knew Steve was going there? Didn't he just grab his jacket and go? Didn't say where to. Liking the theory that Hilton is involved in dodgyness though!

LovelyBaubles · 11/04/2017 00:37

Jamie new cops comment about his interview technique is playing on my mind. I wonder if it's going to be significant to the current case or if it's setting him up to be a part of the team. We all know how they like long interviews in lod Wink

Or am I seeing clues where there aren't any? Confused

lampshady · 11/04/2017 01:08

I thought the interview thing (the drink?) was in reference to Arnott and Denton and Jamie was having a dig.

whatevermaycome · 11/04/2017 06:20

I thought Jamie's interview technique and his stress that he wouldn't actually go through with anything to obtain information as it was unprofessional, was a dig at Arnott. Presumably he knew about what Arnott had done with Lindsay Denton and how he'd nearly messed up the case

LovelyBaubles · 11/04/2017 07:00

Ah totally missed that it was a Denton link. Makes sense! Thanks

Whywaitfortomorrow · 11/04/2017 07:24

Denton link makes complete sense.

When Hana is being interviewed she says "You have ruined my life" to Roz and Jodie implying the situation has gone further than she ever thought it would. Poor girl, being set up like that.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 11/04/2017 07:53

Jamie's comment might be a specific dig at Steve because of his dodgy behaviour vis a vis Denton, which is a matter of (somewhat inaccurate) public record, or it might just be a joke for the benefit of the viewers who know he shagged that witness in series 1, (and someone else in series 2 I think).

I find it hard to believe that the smooth and intelligent Jamie would go out of his way to piss off a superior officer he'd only just met so I'm assuming he wasn't deliberately referring to the Denton unfortunateness.

diddl · 11/04/2017 08:08

So if evidence of Tim was planted at Hana's flat, was evidence of Hana also planted at Tim's flat?

Do we think that Steve is dead?

Huntley survived after being seen lying in in blood pooling from her head!

Is this the last series?

Not sure if I would watch a whole series without Steve!

lampshady · 11/04/2017 08:33

I'm not sure Jamie is trying to be smooth with Steve - he does call Steve 'steve' and asks if that's OK, which Steve seems a bit prickly about. Jamie seems subtly antagonistic to me.

ElenaGreco123 · 11/04/2017 08:35

Series 5 has been commissioned.

ElenaGreco123 · 11/04/2017 08:35

Jamie is mini Steve.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 11/04/2017 08:38

But why? Kate is prickly with Steve because she can't help it. Steve is prickly with Jamie because he wasn't consulted by Ted and had a random junior jumped on him, which is just weird. But it makes no sense whatsoever for Jamie to have a go at his brand new boss. It's suicidal.

tribpot · 11/04/2017 08:53

I interpreted that as jockeying for position. Jamie is yet another highly ambitious member of AC12 and wants to put his new boss on notice that he's "one to watch". So they have to have a bit of back-and-forth even though Steve outranks Jamie.

LovelyBaubles · 11/04/2017 10:29

Another question for you super sleuths. Sorry if its been asked before. But do we know what the previous involvement with ac12 and buckles was? Kate was obviously undercover somewhere where he was. They both recognised each other so must have had pretty close contact. Was Buckles investigated and exonerated? I don't think we've seen him before in previous series'.

Also who gets to decide that he is the new sio after Roz gets moved off the case? Could he have been specifically picked because of previous ac12 investigations or does he just happen to be available at the right time?

BlueDaBaDee · 11/04/2017 10:41

He took over as the SIO from Gates (? Might be wrong name, the main bent one who commits suicide) in series 1, if I remember correctly. Then when arnott gets tortured, Kate blows her cover so he that's how he knows she's undercover.

mistermagpie · 11/04/2017 12:08

I think the 13/30 thing with the evidence is going to come back to bite Ros. I know nothing about forensics but in the police I know that officers aren't allowed to cross out or tippex anything in their notebooks in case they are needed for evidence. The forensic evidence seems like a similar thing to me, so I'm sure amending the numbers wouldn't be allowed or there would be some sort of protocol if an officer made a mistake.
