Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

Her partner was given an ultimatum - agree with me or you're dumped.

It's all about what she wants isn't it? She's convinced herself that Dad is happy for her to move to Australia.

Crikey...I think the 13 year old girl has had a more mature attitude to her father moving than the people in the whiny 'families' videos

Another one who's left their child behind. And they're renting that house.

Was this the wife's idea? She seems a little Pollyanna-ish, everything is perfect I want to get away from your ex ish.

I'm still wondering how a college lecturer in the UK can earn £80-£100k. She strikes me as very confident...

I feel sorry for his daughter and ex partner. From sharing custody to him and his new wife buggering off. Leaving the mum to do the main part of parenting. I couldn't understand why if he hated the pub life he just didn't try to find a new job as an accountant.

I do wish they'd do a revisit after more than a year. They've done a few but not loads. No one has ever said they wish they were back home and hate it. I wonder if that's completely true.

LIZS · 23/02/2017 11:37

Aww they seem like a really sensible family who are making the most of where they are now.

Heatherbell1978 · 23/02/2017 11:44

Not sure they needed to make a flight to NZ to find out what a 3 bed home would cost in Auckland though...mortgage cost went from £450 in UK to £2,200 in NZ. A browse on the internet and a calculator would have told them that. They made the sensible choice but as per usual, the lack of research into what was apparently a life long dream is laughable.

Msqueen- I've seen two revisited where the women clearly regretted it.

One was a lot younger than her PE teacher husband. They moved when their kids were very small and bbc revisited when the kids were about 3 yrs older and the mum had realised her kids were Australian and she could never leave now if she wanted to.

The other was a lady who moved with husband and youngest child but left 2 grown up sons and a new grandchild behind. She was hoping her son's would join them. She seemed so sad in revisited.
