Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

Or perhaps this is Matthew's most elaborate and roundabout way to dump her and her family

Patienceisvirtuous · 04/01/2017 11:18

Can't see these two lasting 😁

Heatherbell1978 · 04/01/2017 11:18

I don't get why they scrutinise the decor in these homes so much as they're not going to buy one of them at the end of the day. Surely the location and size they get for their money is more important. What no-one comments on is just how far these suburbs are from the city itself....

latedecember1963 · 04/01/2017 11:24

I don't see these 2 lasting either. Childhood sweethearts that have had the romance of long periods apart but now have the reality of day to day life together.

LIZS · 04/01/2017 11:29

Bit selective feedback re. Job prospects

PabloEscobarReallyLovesHisKids · 04/01/2017 11:41

She changed her mind!

LIZS · 04/01/2017 11:43

"Next chapter of our lives..." Hmm

missyB1 · 04/01/2017 11:46

Irritates me that they hardly ever go to New Zealand- mind you having lived there for a bit myself I should probably understand why! Grin

RebootYourEngine · 04/01/2017 12:37

Not watched it all yet but i am not warming to todays couple. I also dont see them lasting because sometimes what makes a relationship work is the time spent apart.

Levatrice · 04/01/2017 14:01

Found todays hard to watch! She couldnt even pretend to be interested Hmm

Kirriemuir · 04/01/2017 14:38

I'd forgotten how much this irritates me. Banging on about having a garden. No one wants a garden in Perth or certainly not one with grass. A pool is ok though!

They will earn £1000 more a month. I can assure you that won't last long in the supermarkets of WA.

And lastly, you won't be able to have a bath for several months of the year due to water shortages.

canihaveacoffeeplease · 04/01/2017 14:43

Omg I love this program! What channel? We are a couple of months into or oz visa applications now, so even more exciting!

Kirriemuir · 04/01/2017 14:45

BBC 1 at 11 am.

schmack · 04/01/2017 17:28

oooh more deluded famillies! compulsive viewing.

I always wonder - perhaps the Aussies can confirm for me, why do they always send them to Perth? wouldn't Melbourne or Sydney be a more obvious choice for expats? is it because property is more there? So why not somewhere else in massive Australia, always Perth?

WinterWander · 04/01/2017 18:02

Surely there are outdoor spaces, beaches and animals in Scotland!
Did you not see the clip of them at the beach just outside Edinburgh - they were in raincoats, it looked cold and miserable! Grin

The channel 5 programme is much better - WDU need to up their game.

RebootYourEngine · 04/01/2017 19:47

LIZS have you been to Scotland? It is basically winter for 390 days of the year Wink

Heatherbell1978 · 04/01/2017 21:41

schmack I'm assuming the families choose rather than the programme sending them somewhere that wouldn't suit? I think the proportion of British expats is higher in Perth than Sydney or Melbourne. More beaches, better weather, cheaper housing (compared to Sydney and Melbourne) Given the budget of some of the people on the show, Sydney wouldn't work....

Vagndidit · 05/01/2017 10:28

Just seen the Channel 5 program. WDU is certainly missing a beat here with their tired format. Not the warm and fuzzy "happily ever after" NickyPopidol and co would like to suggest.

228agreenend · 05/01/2017 11:09

More family time - tick
More money - tick

If the mum cries every other day, has she got depression?

Surely they can buy a house in the UK for £275,000?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/01/2017 11:18

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find.html?locationIdentifier=REGION%5E1019&minBedrooms=3&maxPrice=270000

Admittedly I don't know what part of Nottingham they want but yes 288 they could.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/01/2017 11:19

Sorry 228 Blush

iklboo · 05/01/2017 11:24

This looks like another 'band-aid' emigration. He thinks moving to Australia will be like a magic wand. Their expectations seem a bit unrealistic as well.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/01/2017 11:33

Most definitely. I wonder if she's naturally an unsure person. Also why do they keep saying kids? I've only seen the baby, but did miss the start.

easton · 05/01/2017 11:37

She has an older child from a previous relationship. But wasnt sure whether she woukd get permission fron the father to move child to aus.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/01/2017 11:39

Ah, thank you easton
