I'm really looking forward to this later. Going to an Alpha course before so will be a bit behind but very excited to see what happens!

NotPennysBoat · 13/09/2016 21:34

Who's watching tonight??

Lovefromhull · 13/09/2016 21:44

Im in. Surely graces mum would have known and stopped the wedding?

woodhill · 13/09/2016 21:53

Exactly, a bit daft and too confusing with the police woman being a criminal.

youngestisapsycho · 13/09/2016 21:57

He's gonna kill himself!

youngestisapsycho · 13/09/2016 21:57

Or everyone else!

timelytess · 13/09/2016 22:06

Oh my!
Well, it was Bill protecting their eternal souls, and it was incest.
I was wrong that he wanted Gracie dead, he thought she'd be away though to be honest that bit is weak because the child would have been the product of incest so what did he intend to do about that?
Moira or whatever her name was turned out to be the one putting it about and the suicide dad knew about the incest.
And the sick child got her operation because the dodgy old cop understood that doing the right thing doesn't always mean sticking to the rules.
Overall, I enjoyed it. I thought 15-20 mins on the round-up was a bit too long.

timelytess · 13/09/2016 22:07

Oh, creepy kid wasn't the boyfriend.
Except that I still think he was.

Lovefromhull · 13/09/2016 22:09

The policewoman story didn't meet the Adam and grace story at all. I was expecting it to.

4minions · 13/09/2016 22:13

A bit confused did Adam and Grace not meet when they were 9 or ten when the family moved to the area from England? This is what I picked up from the start of the first episode. How then could Ade Edmondson have been her Dad also?

ArmyInRed · 13/09/2016 22:14

I dont think the policewoman and her daughter storyline was needed really, bit of a red herring.

Lovefromhull · 13/09/2016 22:15

Oo- didn't know that. I need to watch the first one again I think.

Optimist1 · 13/09/2016 22:17

What a twisted bunch! Why didn't Moira tell Grace about her parentage when she first got together with Adam, FFS? The video footage showed that they were quite young when the relationship started. What did Bill think he was going to achieve when he arranged for Adam to be killed? As timeleytess says, if his intention was for Grace to live, she'd still have a baby that was the product of incest.

No wonder Jamie was so messed up, living with those people.

I was very sorry that the policewoman escaped - the pills she sold were directly responsible for the death of one of her daughter's school friends (and who knows how many other people).

Lovefromhull · 13/09/2016 22:40

I agree. Not quite resolved was it. Will miss it next Tuesday though!

Clawdy · 13/09/2016 22:44

I really like the actress playing the nurse, she was very good. But why did she say to the old lady at the end that she might be going to jail anyway?

TheGoodEnoughWife · 13/09/2016 22:47

Same question. I didn't really get that bit of why she would go to prison?

Davros · 13/09/2016 22:54

Confused I didn't understand the nurse and prison comment.
Still a load of nonsense about the Parkinson's tests AND you can't take a snip of someone's hair and get DNA testing without them knowing, not in the UK anyway. Also, the sick daughter had a tube up her nose that went nowhere. Presumably it was supposed to be connected to an oxygen cylinder but there was no evidence of it and I don't think you could get on a plane at short notice carrying oxygen.

hollyisalovelyname · 13/09/2016 22:55

It was good.

plimsolls · 13/09/2016 22:58

I think the nurse thought she'd go to prison as she was involved in the cover up of the car accident/murder.

Janus · 13/09/2016 23:00

I assume nurse may be charged with concealing a body (the bloke in the car they all pushed in the put). I doubt they'd bother really though?
Strictly speaking they were half brother and sister not full siblings (not that it matters!).

LyndaNotLinda · 13/09/2016 23:08

Moora said st the end that she didn't know that Grace was Adan's daughter. Although she must have known it was a possibility Hmm

Merrylegs · 13/09/2016 23:23

Gah I half suspected religious dad way back when - what a shame it was him. I wanted to be wowed. The drug/detective/sick daughter added nothing - nothing- to that plot. She didn't even stick around to find out what had occured in the murder investigation. It was as if all that had never happened..In fact the last 3/4 of that episode was a bit tl;dr....

TheGoodEnoughWife · 13/09/2016 23:24

Think the tube was for feeding not oxygen.

I think it probably was the cover up thing for the prison.

Davros · 13/09/2016 23:40

If the tube was fir feeding why was it there all the time, I mean up her hooter?

TheGoodEnoughWife · 14/09/2016 07:40

They stay in all the time as it is not great to have a tube put up your nose and down your throat. They are ready for liquid food straight to your stomach.

But back to the program. I also don't get that if he is that religious then surely the baby would have been an issue?
And Moira must have suspected even if she didn't know for certain the daughter wasn't his?
