OP posts:
Mummylin · 23/08/2016 23:06

Am suspicious of the farmhand. Could he be the father of the killer ?

123beanie · 23/08/2016 23:08

I'm just completely confused by the whole thing GrinConfused I'm sure it'll all become clearer

thenightsky · 23/08/2016 23:09

The drug receiver was not Rob... he was better looking.

Dead murderer knew Grace I think... from the way he fingered the picture of her that he stole.

thenightsky · 23/08/2016 23:10

Oh... and also he said to the other baddie that I tried to sell the stolen bag of goods to... 'I have to put something right'... which is maybe why he set off to drive to the family's farm.

hollyisalovelyname · 23/08/2016 23:16

I'm confused.
Quick synopsis anyone please ?

MrsMargeSimpson · 23/08/2016 23:18

We watched this and I thoroughly enjoyed it - in the way you can enjoy watching murder. Confused

I didn't think it was Rob buying the LSD but I did think the detective who sold it was the sick girl's mother.

Interesting to see that others wondered if Rob had recognised the junkie. DH and I are also questioning if said junkie really did kill Grace and Adam, or if be just burgled them at the wrong time...

Tiggeryoubastard · 23/08/2016 23:20

Think it's another Marcella. Good actors, crap unbelievable plot, badly put together.

Merrylegs · 23/08/2016 23:23

I think the dead junkie stumbled on the murder but didn't do it. Grace was pregnant - could be significant - who is the father?

mishmash1979 · 24/08/2016 07:42

Am so confused; have obviously missed loads as having argument with hubbie whilst watching. I player later methinks!!!

The80sweregreat · 24/08/2016 08:48

Ade Edmondson looked so old! bit confusing at times, but Juliet S was fab and what a stunning location too. will stick with it.

Ireallydontseewhy · 24/08/2016 08:59

The junkie says to his fence (is that still the term) that he needs to get to braeston to finish something that he started. But i too doubt that he stabbed them - his hallucination was that he picked up the knife and then saw them lying there (though did the knife already have blood on it?)

He definitely had a reaction to the wedding photo - not sure if he was focusing on danny or grace? I suspect from what grace's mother said that danny has a 'back story' - maybe he was involved in the drug/burglary stuff too?

And then there is the adrian edmonson mystery....am i right that he wasn't at the wedding?

hollyisalovelyname · 24/08/2016 09:04

Very strange reaction from the groom's father to the phone message telling him his son was dead.

Merrylegs · 24/08/2016 09:19

Also bit odd that Grace's religious father would suggest such a morally corrupt cover up. He is 'taking charge' rather..... I suspect everyone!

Ireallydontseewhy · 24/08/2016 09:56

Yes, but grace's father thinks it might be younger brother, so i suppose will do anything to protect him. Talking of which, was younger brother there when they discovered that the man in the car crash was the suspected murderer? I didn't think he was, but he later said to his parents that he just wanted to see the man who killed grace.

Their main problem is the phone calls to the emergency service - if the police are any good they are going to work this out.

Nice to see colin from rev in the police force!

TheSpottedZebra · 24/08/2016 11:38

Ooh I loved this!

There's a paternity thing there, isn't there? Julie Graham (Moira? ) said to JS something something with that father of theirs. Ie saying that JS's ex is a bad one. But then grey haired man and his employer (or son?) exchanged a Significant Look. So one of them is the father of one of JS's kids.

And the young stalky brother had previously done something bad or been troubled - they alluded to that.

Love the cast. Love JS, and she has aged backwards? Love Julie Graham. Love in a different way John Lynch. Yum.

TheSpottedZebra · 24/08/2016 11:43

Actually to say I loved it is a bit much. I liked it, but it's not 'great telly '. But it makes a nice change from the Olympics, and I'd forgotten how attractive John Lynch is. He's like Eric Cantona at his finest and most hirsute.

hollyisalovelyname · 24/08/2016 12:00

John Lynch looks like some of those pictures of Jesus I remember from my childhood.
Too hirsute for me.

TheSpottedZebra · 24/08/2016 12:03

Well I did go to convent school so maybe I AM just perving on a 21st Century Hairy Jesus?

Hmm. This is quite the dilemma for an atheist on a very hot day.

lastqueenofscotland · 24/08/2016 20:41

I have decided the druggy didn't kill them I think he broke in to steal shit and found them there. I want next weeks

OP posts:
Ireallydontseewhy · 24/08/2016 20:49

But lastqueen why did he then think he had to travel up to the Highlands - what did he need to 'finish'?

Did he know who did kill them, or did he just in his dazed state think he needed to hand over the watch in person?! Yes, we need next week's episode!

MrsMargeSimpson · 24/08/2016 21:14

DM and I discussed this today and decided he didn't kill them but he did know them. The stealing was just a 'convenience' IMO.

HatePaperDoll · 24/08/2016 22:03

MrsMarge, I was discussing it with a colleague today and we came to the same conclusion that druggie had some connection to the dead couple.

youngestisapsycho · 24/08/2016 22:44

At least we now know where Gendry rowed to!

hollyisalovelyname · 25/08/2016 08:57

I rewatched the scene where the policewoman is in the car with the guy receiving the drugs. He is very similar to the murdered man's brother. I'm not sure if they are the same person. Probably not. But they shouldn't have such similar looking characters if they are different people- unless it's needed for the plot.
The viewer sees a scene fleetingly unlike the director who is immersed in the show.
