Agreed chunkymum1, if there is such a test for Parkinson's then I've never heard of it. DH was dx with PD 5 years ago age 53. Also, as I said up thread, you can't get a DNA test done on someone using a stolen clipping without their knowledge

Does anyone else think cantona fully intended to kill himself but physically couldn't due to the Parkinsons, rather than being too cowardly to do it?

There is one type of Parkinson's that can tested for apparently but it's very rare. And the tests aren't routinely done. I'm pretty sure they don't do genetic testing for it on the NHS. I have a genetic mutation that they do test for and I know it's hugely expensive for them to carry out the tests.

I really didn't like the character of Claire. I found her really annoying and self righteous. I agree that the drug dealer, policewoman, ill child thing was totally pointless.

I liked Claire. The girl who played her was such a good actress, and her crying looked so real, compared to some of the other actors. Couldn't see the point of the son's troubled fiancee, just an irrelevant storyline really.

It was all a bit sh*t in the end!

I thought Grace's young brother had some problems in the past, but this was never explained. Am I mistaken?

eddiemairswife I thought the same - I had assumed there had been an issue with Grace in the past. I watched the last two episodes together - the police officer/drug supplier/daughter story just irritated me - there was no actual point to it. I thought maybe they were trying to draw an oh so clever line between her supplying the drugs to fund her daughter's op and the families murdering the murderer but as John Lynch was behind both sets of murders it didn't make sense.
In saying that I enjoyed it but I'm not sure why, it had quite large plot holes and very irritating characters.

You know when you watch some series and they drag it out to 6 or 8 episodes and you think " they got have wrapped this up quicker" I almost thought the opposite of this show - it's like there's a missing chunk, an extra episode or it was cut badly

The whole police officer, sick daughter, drug-dealing was just unnecessary. That story could have been a whole series in itself. I assumed she'd stolen the LSD from the Police Station, but no-one realised it was missing; there was no follow-up to the girl jumping off the building, in spite of the sick daughter knowing her, and I really wanted to know what was wrong with the girl.

I think they were trying to be all clever with different storylines highlighting "dilemmas" about morality and ethics...

E.g.

Is it forgivable for the families to murder Lee and hide his death because of his crimes?
Is it ok to steal/sell drugs if it will save the life of your daughter? [policewoman]
Is it ok to help someone to die if they're dying anyway? [claire's patient and her request for assisted suicide]

Etc
Etc
Etc

Like a discussion piece in Year 7 Citizenship class.

The title One of Us is interesting when seen in the context of the policewoman dealing drugs.
Obviously one of us alludes to ' which one of us killed the killer' also.

I asked about the long tunnel where several scenes were shot during the 4 episodes. I've since discovered it's part of a cycle path network utilising old railway systems throughout Edinburgh. This particular one is called The Innocent Railway Tunnel. Just thought I'd post incase anyone was interested.
