Is anyone watching this? I think im going to end up hooked!

OP posts:
Unsurechicken · 31/08/2016 00:13

What about the knife? And the police visiting rob? The dark haired mum doesnt like the blonde woman because the blonde woman and beard man had an affair years ago? The estranged father had a break down? Or couldnt live with bringing up someones son. Why didnt E-dad tell new wife his daughter claire had rung him? Ooohh errrr misses! How many eposides left? One or two? Balcony girl is sad fall from grace for the police officer lady?

hollyisalovelyname · 31/08/2016 10:35

Or did the dark haired woman have an affair with the blonde woman's husband?

Clawdy · 31/08/2016 22:24

Blonde woman? Who is that?

hollyisalovelyname · 31/08/2016 23:09

Rob's mother- Juliet Stevenson.

Wingedharpy · 01/09/2016 00:44

I thought last night's episode was very slow and didn't add much to the story other than we now know Ade Edmonson lied to his new partner/wife by not disclosing his ex-wife and children.
And, farm hand is maybe not quite as nice a chap as I first thought he was.
Hope it picks up a bit next week.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2016 19:03

I actually gave up on it. It was sooooo boring!

NotPennysBoat · 02/09/2016 22:55

Bit late but just caught up. We're all supposed conclude from that episode that Rob is the culprit. I'm wondering whether it's his girlfriend... She was raped, her rapist is still free, is he part of the criminal underworld? Is she linked? Questions, questions!! Still really enjoying it, surprised at pps saying it was boring - I was gripped!

Incidentally, farm hand has the WORST Scottish accent ever. He keeps slipping into Russian or something! Very distracting!

Optimist1 · 02/09/2016 23:17

I thought the farmhand's accent was supposed to be Shetland or similar?

hollyisalovelyname · 03/09/2016 10:06

I found it gripping too. So many unanswered question.
I hope we won't be disappointed with the ending. I hope there is a clear cut ending!
I agree re the farmhand's accent. It changes.
Could Rob's girlfriend be suffering PTS ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2016 20:01

Don't think we learnt much apart from the fact ade lied to his new partner about the family wife and kids he had

Agree not him

Don't think blonde mum or her daughter

Maybe the dark haired mum or the bearded dad is the killer

Davros · 04/09/2016 00:13

Surely Ade's new wife would have expected him to have been married before?! I think farmhand has some sort of Shetland accent too, maybe he was in that series and that's why I think it? I think it's great, nice break from wall to wall reality TV

pisaleaner · 04/09/2016 09:42

I'm sure Gary Lewis (farmhand) would be amused to find he has a 'rubbish' accent. He's Scottish through and through - from Glasgow.

Has Rob Lynch (beardy Dad) ever been allowed to play anyone who is actually happy?

hollyisalovelyname · 04/09/2016 20:17

I thought there would be more interest in this thread.
Compared to the Broadchurch threadHmmHmm
This is just as good. IMHO

Finbar · 04/09/2016 21:27

I think it's pish
Like no ones going to notice a digger and newly dug hole and all their dna all over the place. And how did they turn the car back over? I could go on

Btw I am still watching but surely disappointed

bumpetybumpbumpbump · 05/09/2016 13:20

I think the farm hand is being controlled by his wife and in a sticky situation now she knows. I'm loving this show. Also pretty sure He was going to the house to send a message. Great acting and production.

The poorly girl, I don't think she's the detectives daughter because she said 'I've never been to India', I wonder where she fits in.

Suspicious of the nurse and the girl who was Raped. Surely the rape story will also for into the bigger picture.

hollyisalovelyname · 05/09/2016 15:12

Finbar are you Irish?
With a name like that do you have Cork connections?

Merrylegs · 05/09/2016 15:16

I thought it was girlfriend too wot done it. Kind of revenge for her friend (Grace) being the victim of violence also?

MrsPMT · 05/09/2016 16:08

Am watching too, also thought farmhands accent strange but am presuming he wanted to sound more 'Highland'.

I think the cliffhanger at the end with police going to Rob is about something else, stalking the rapist maybe, don't think Claire has gone to police. I'm suspecting his gf also of killing the injured druggie.

Love a good suspense, plot holes a mile wide (covering of the car, surely police would ask about what they were up to) and some of the shots are very wtf? Grin

Panicmode1 · 05/09/2016 18:11

We are still watching, but having to suspend a huge amount of disbelief - agree with MrsPMT above about the huge plot holes. I hope that tomorrow's episode is a bit better - last week felt very much like it was treading water with little new to discover, but there's not much else to watch on a Tuesday evening so we're sticking with it for now.

eddiemairswife · 05/09/2016 18:47

As the press seem to be hanging around (long enough to photo someone in their slippers), surely one of them would have heard the digger and gone to investigate.

DanyellasDonkey · 05/09/2016 22:37

Was it written by the same people as wrote the dreadful Missing? If so, it's better, but still a bit dreary. As it's only 4 episodes I will stick with it.

Anyone know where it's filmed?

In answer to previous questions about kids' accents - I read somewhere that if a child moves to another area before the age of 9 it will adopt the new accent. After that it will retain original accent - no real evidence if that's true or not.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 06/09/2016 08:40

Watched both episodes on catch up and just read through the thread - some interesting theories!
I think the maybe Rob's girlfriend did kill the druggie - someone or something from her past ? Or possibly, as someone else up thread suggested, she's suffering from PTS after rape? Was she on look out with the binoculars or was she spying on her own accord? I also wonder whether Peter's (estranged dad) grief in front of his new wife was fake? He knows he will be located and interviewed by the police so couldn't keep his past family a secret anymore and as shown in the first episode, he had no reaction or remorse when he heard his daughters voicemail message about the murders. So he's covering up something - but I've no idea what! (Yet) Smile

Clawdy · 06/09/2016 10:22

If it was fake, he did a pretty good impression, with all that snotty crying! I was quite relieved when he finally wiped his nose! Grin

Merrylegs · 06/09/2016 13:03

Yes yes I totally thought they were crocodile tears - and his new wife is hardly going to be cross with him due to the nature of tragedy. 'Lucky' for him...

MrsMargeSimpson · 06/09/2016 21:54

This week is much better
