I think when Grace and Jamie got tested for Parkinson's their dad discovered then that he is not Grace's bio-dad and convinced himself that Ade Edmondson was, which is why he didn't want Grace to marry Adam.

It will turn out however that Billy Elliot's dad is Grace's dad, so Eric Cantona's plan to kill/frighten off Adam was completely in vain. He certainly didn't intend Gracie to die, and maybe not even Adam - but the staged burglary went horribly wrong. Lee Marsh (?) did the actual killing -by accident somehow.

I'm hoping corrupt police officer won't get found out until her daughter has been to US, had her op, and her mysterious illness cured.

God it's all such a misery fest. And why, when someone has an idea, the other person immediately discounts it - Claire 'maybe dad was trying to give me a message'. Rob 'no no don't upset yourself'.
Drug dealing detective ' don't you think it's strange they all went for a walk.' Useless bloke sidekick detective 'no, no they're all mad with grief'. Why doesnt' someone say 'oh yes, good point' or 'hmm that is worth thinking about''.

I agree Merrylegs. It's a load of bollocks that they could get tested for Parkinsons unless they have noticeable symptoms or maybe by gene sequencing which I think is unlikely. It doesn't show up in a blood test or something

Davros - I wondered about that. So I reckon its definitely a device to allow Cantona to find out he wasn't Grace's dad.

Now ive watched this week im changing my theory too:

The girlfriend killed the car bloke but car bloke wasnt the killer of grace and adam he knew but didnt do it.

Farm man is graces real dad.

Usless dad of the three had maybe got in to trouble and adam had heard about it and contacted his dad hence the dad feeling guilty and topping himself.

Finally got round to watching the first episode last night, didn't fully understand what was going on and didn't really feel I cared. Looking at this thread, it looks like it's not worth persisting with it.

I gave up on it last night

Having devoted three hours of my life to it I'll probably watch the last one next week, but so many lies and deceptions make it very confusing. I find it hard to believe that even if there was a screening test for Parkinsons that they would tell the father that Adam wasn't his. Surely they'd just say his test was negative?

Gary Lewis (the farm hand) played Billy Elliott's dad. To be fair he's in everything but the crib .

Parkinsons can't be detected with a DNA test so they wouldn't detect paternity. The bloke on the train was the chief drug dealer. I really like this, I'm happy to watch the last episode ...... And then complain!

I did think that brief and cringey sex scene was totally unnecessary. They could have been filmed just lying in bed together, we would have got the message!

I agree Clawdy. I hate gratuitous sex scenes in films/ shows.
