Thank you Ireallydon't

ApocalypseSlough · 25/08/2016 22:50

Ade wasn't at the wedding- so definitely estranged.
What was the farm hand turning over? A stone?

Optimist1 · 25/08/2016 22:53

Thanks for the explanation, Ireally .

EmilyDickinson · 26/08/2016 00:40

Ade being out of the country when Adam and Grace were murdered gives him a good alibi. Has he set that up intentionally?

The first episode has set up loads of questions:

What did Grace's younger brother Jamie do that his family all seem to believe him capable of murder?

Why and when did Louise and Ade split up? Why have Louise, Rob and Claire totally cut ties with Ade? Why does Moira have such a low opinion of Ade?

Why does Moira dislike Louise, Rob and Adam so much? Can't just be that Grace was pregnant before marriage?

Was Adam the father of Grace's baby? Or might that have something to do with the murder?

Why are her family surprised that Claire is still in touch with Sam? How is Jamie able to see Sam's messages?

Why hasn't Anna's rapist been arrested? Did he "get off", meaning that Anna and Rob no longer trust the justice system?

I can't remember the name of the farm worker who stayed over the night of the storm. Does he have another connection to one of the families? Could he be the natural father of Grace or Adam? And therefore have a motive for killing their murderer? Or he could be in love with one of the suspects and be protecting them, or the father of one of the suspects etc. Come to that the same might be true of Bill.

Was Ade still in touch with Adam? Why didn't he react to news of his death?

Did the burglar commit the murder or just come across it? If he committed it was he paid to do it and by whom?

Soooo many questions.

NigellasGuest · 26/08/2016 08:56

I don't normally like Juliet S - unpopular opinion I know ... Saw her on the One Show and thought oh dear - but I did like her in this. She is A Good Actress. I disliked Trily Madly Deeply - way too much snot in that!

Ireallydontseewhy · 26/08/2016 09:24

Yes, being out of the country puts ade under immediate suspicion!

I agree Nigella js was good - they all were i think.

I hope we find out more about danny and grace in the next three episodes.

Twoseventhsaweasley · 27/08/2016 08:11

Who is Sam? Is he Claire's ex boy friend? Did we see him? I am still quite confused. I will keep watching as I did enjoy it.

Ireallydontseewhy · 27/08/2016 09:37

We're not quite sure who sam is (ex boyfriend of claire seems likely) but we know he is in nairobi. In detective thriller logic that puts him under suspicion, doesn't it - perfect alibi and all that?! I think grace's younger brother has hacked into claire's texts, so is reading sam's messages to her.

Is the sub-plot with the patient giving claire the jewellery and therequest to help her die going to go further, do we think? As soon as Claire accepted the jewellery i thought 'oh dear'. Surely there are rules about that - you would at the very least have to tell your employer?

absolutelynotfabulous · 27/08/2016 09:53

Waaaay too confusing for me, but loved Ade Edmondson at the end bloody hell he's looking old though.

NotPennysBoat · 27/08/2016 12:30

I missed that Sam is in Nairobi, who said that?

Poppytime · 27/08/2016 13:31

Been watching this too. Intrigued. I think Claire was outside with another nurse having a fag when it was mentioned that Sam was in Nairobi (well someone she had been seeing), it was when the other nurse came out just as Claire got off the phone from leaving a message which she said was for her brother. Quite early on before she got the news about the murder.

eddiemairswife · 27/08/2016 16:43

I think I'll have to watch it again. I missed the reference to Sam.

Ireallydontseewhy · 27/08/2016 16:52

Yes, Nairobi is referred to in the work break, and then Rob says 'are you still in touch with him' when they're up in the Highlands and a text comes through to Claire. (I think I must have been concentrating unusually hard for this!)

Definitely sounded as though Sam has a Role to Play in future, although it may just be to give Grace's younger brother something to hack into to show that he (younger brother - anyone remember the name?) has a secret life, and possibly is obsessed with Claire?

romanvilla · 27/08/2016 22:25

I think the stone that the shifty farm labourer was holding was a child's handprint, I'm wondering why it caused him to sob.

NotPennysBoat · 27/08/2016 22:43

It was a child's handprint and it also said 'Gracie' on the other side. Perhaps he's worked for the family a long time and feels like he's lost a daughter.... Or perhaps there's something more sinister to it!

AlienTaxFiend · 27/08/2016 22:46

I think paternity is key issue. Adam and Grace are actually half-siblings due to next door neighbours messing around with each other. When she gets pregnant, someone in the know has decided to stop the incestuous offspring from reproducing!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2016 12:25

Just watching now

Haven't read any replies

recap e1

Always like guardian recaps of series tho again Havnt read yet :)

Clawdy · 28/08/2016 13:13

When I saw the farm hand sobbing over the Gracie baby stone, I assumed he is her dad.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2016 14:08

It's obvious that LEE didn't kill ADAM and grace

But who did ?

Havnt a clue who killed LEE

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2016 14:13

Tho def suss about ade/dad. Didn't seem too surprised /in shock with the message he got

Maybe he organised the hit on them?

Clawdy · 28/08/2016 14:43

Seems a bit unlikely someone would want their son and his wife knifed to death. It is a drama, though, I suppose. But wouldn't he have tried to cover any guilt up by showing horror when he got the call? Can't buy the guilty dad theory - but we'll see..

hollyisalovelyname · 30/08/2016 19:26

Looking forward to it tonight.

CoolCarrie · 30/08/2016 21:54

John Lynch, like Adrian Dunbar, is one of those actors who is always in work because he is so good, from Cal with Helen Mirren all those years ago, up to this new series. He is like Roger Allam , if those actors are in a series or film it is going to be good!

hollyisalovelyname · 30/08/2016 23:57

Your thoughts on tonight's episode please.

lastqueenofscotland · 30/08/2016 23:59

Just watched on I player. Gets murkier I think, interesting to see what happens with the police woman and the girl that jumped off the balcony
