I agree Snizzle I'm loving it . Just read Youg Ian's story Sad and chuckling at some funeral wailing woman's terrible voice. Love the little children, will be hard to do that on film, very cute interaction with main characters.

It's really lovely being able to talk about this stuff with fellow followers not crazed fans

Just seen one of the writers on Twitter say she's writing episode 2 Shock get on with it! Thought they'd have done that by now

Drywhitethanks · 29/08/2016 23:08

apologies SnOzzle

snozzlemaid · 30/08/2016 07:47

I quite like snizzle!
Yes, the relationship between Jamie and Jem is fantastic. It makes up for us not seeing him be a father to a young child. I just love how Jem obviously idolises him.
You're catching up with me fast. I better get reading!

snozzlemaid · 30/08/2016 07:59

Ooh! Just seen what you're talking about from twitter. Anne Kenney saying she's writing episode 2. She wrote the wedding episode from series 1. So that's great news. Let's hope she does such a fantastic job of this one too.

Drywhitethanks · 30/08/2016 20:48

Good lord ,I'm expecting Brianna to invent the IPhone and Claire to discover electricity any minute, they really are very talented thought B was a history student?

snozzlemaid · 30/08/2016 21:04

Lol! Their inventions are something else, aren't they.
I did like it when Claire showed Jamie his sperm under the microscope. His reaction was brilliant.

Drywhitethanks · 30/08/2016 21:30

Yup very funny...

Lessstressedhemum · 30/08/2016 22:16

Brianna is an engineer. She changed courses after frank died.
Jamie's reaction to seeing his sperm is hilarious. Also Ian with the wee creatures on his teeth. I don't understand why Claire hasn't invented a proper sanitary towel yet.

Lessstressedhemum · 31/08/2016 12:17

Good grief, the madness on the Outlander Facebook! All these people ranting that lord John isn't blonde, have they never heard of hair dye? And then all the ones that think Sam is far too small to be Jamie. For goodness sake he's 6ft 3 and built like a tank. And I see the controversy over Brianna's and Rogers eye colour is still going on.

Get a life, really.

Sunnymeg · 31/08/2016 16:41

Must admit that I went to an Outlandish UK event, and found everyone very obsessed and manic even though they all seemed lovely.

Lessstressedhemum · 31/08/2016 16:55

I'd be too mortified to go to an event. I'm quite sure I'd turn into some sort of drooling, middle aged fangirl who tries to sniff samBlush

gamerwidow · 31/08/2016 17:30

I don't understand the fans who want the tv show to be EXACTLY the same as the books. As long as the tv show remains true to the spirit of the books I don't care if the characters look a bit different then described. I don't even care if the story doesn't happen in exactly the same as long as it rings true to the characters.

Lessstressedhemum · 31/08/2016 19:31

I know ,gamer, it's so weird. As long as the basic thing stays the same, why all the fuss. TV, films etc. are never 100% like the books they are based on.

Drywhitethanks · 31/08/2016 21:54

I think the extreme fans just live it too much, need to get a grip really. I think Lord John casting is great.
Roger perfect.
Sophie as B might be better than B of the books.
SH is perfect as Jamie...how tall does he have to be?
Is anyone upset about CB? Doesn't seem much like Claire of the books but better and totally awesome .
Then there was the thing about SH being gay because he wore a signet ring on his little finger Confused .
All a load of twaddle.
This is a show, it's fantasy, it's ACTORS pretending sob

I love the books, but I love the show a whole lot better ....am getting a bit sick of poo!

As an aside....something else that I think is fun in the books is that the animals have personalities....Gideon, Jamie's psychology stallion, Clarence the talkative guard mule, the ferocious sow that lives under the house, Asdo the cat, Rollo the wolf dog. Love all of that.

JacquettaWoodville · 31/08/2016 23:08

Rollo is a more important character than lord John grey, surely?

Wink

I am just starting on The Lord john books and enjoying them.

Lessstressedhemum · 31/08/2016 23:15

I love Rollo and Clarence. The animals are important characters in their own right. I wonder if there'll be any backlash over their casting!

Drywhitethanks · 01/09/2016 09:27

Think casting the White sow will be tricky

Drywhitethanks · 01/09/2016 09:28

Love this

Lassies of Lallybroch - SPOILERS
gamerwidow · 01/09/2016 09:34

The white sow is one of my favourite characters, she's indestructible. I also love what an utter bastard Gideon is and how he refuses to be tamed by Jamie.

JacquettaWoodville · 01/09/2016 09:52

k9 in a wolf suit for rollo?

"I must protect you from the mad axeman, Master"

Tardis
Lessstressedhemum · 01/09/2016 11:16

Aye, Gideon is the only horse in the world immune to Jamie's charms. Love the idea of K9, that would be hilarious, can you imagine the outcryGrin

Lessstressedhemum · 03/09/2016 19:48

The lord John thing is still rumbling on on the Outlander fb.

Drywhitethanks · 03/09/2016 22:17

What's wrong with these people?

Nearly done book 6.
B
Have read 4 1/2 in 2 months.... 2 to go ......

Saw Poldark trailer tonight.... Eeek

snozzlemaid · 04/09/2016 12:38

Some people are never going to be happy, whoever gets cast. I think he looks great.
Dry you're racing ahead of me now. I need to book a few weeks off work to do some serious reading. There's not enough hours in the day.
Anyone watched Victoria starring Laoghaire?
Excited about Poldark too, of course.

Lessstressedhemum · 04/09/2016 13:32

The latest is that some of the stalkers think he should have been cast as William not John, but William will only be a tiny wee thing in this series, so they are getting ahead of themselves. Some folk just like to have something to complain about.
Haven't seen Victoria at all, it's on stv, isn't it? Am saving myself for Hotdark this eveningGrin
