I have finally figured out what programme the sidekick in Torchwood (had to use turn-on-spray to get the girl and boy in first episode) was in.

He was absolute brilliant and was my favourite character in it.

'Bleak House' - Guppy.

Have to use matchsticks to stay up till 10.00 p.m. Jack is not as charasmatic as Christopher but hey ho ....its early days.

foxinsocks · 06/01/2007 22:44

no, I don't think it's intentional

JackieNo · 06/01/2007 22:44

foxinsocks. Nikkie, I wondered about the 'manger' meaning 'eat' thing too.

foxinsocks · 06/01/2007 22:46

Bile eater perhaps?

he was a great baddie - far better than giant person eating monster who got defeated in about 5 minutes

JackieNo · 06/01/2007 22:49

He was wonderfully sinister. Maybe bile eater.

And did the monster remind anyone else of the one in Doctor Who that had been imprisoned in the planet?

nikkie · 06/01/2007 22:56

Bilis said it was son of the beast. The Beast in Dr who said it was sometimes known as Abaddon so think they were the same breed.

JackieNo · 06/01/2007 23:02

Have a look at the second post down on this blog - some ideas about what the name might mean. Nothing conclusive though.

nikkie · 06/01/2007 23:11

Sybolism is interesting and they do put links in Dr Who like that

On #outpostgallifrey they only looked at the anagrams, and theyare all obsessed that Bilis is a rogue timelord or the master and the grandfather clock was a TARDIS.They are really hoping for the Master .

JackieNo · 06/01/2007 23:13

I hadn't thought of the Master. Would like to see him back too, I think. But he has to have a beard. It's just not right otherwise.

According to OG- in the next series of Dr Who the 'key words' are Mister SAxon (have already appeared in last series/runaway bride and Torchwood)
Mister Saxon is an anagram of Master no.six (Masters 6th regeneration)

Sorry this is not as serious and worthy as some of these fascinating posts. I had a though re capt Jack altering scripts to "snog that man" (further down thread). I am not a HUGE fan of either (would prefer Torchwood if less scary) but watch both as DH obsessed with sci-fi. I had a thought. If Capt Jack went to Little Britain and met Dafydd - would he still want to snog the only gay in the village or would it be "backs to the wall chaps"? (I have no excuse for occasionally watching LB). I thought the snog between Capt Jack and the airman was very passionate, not in a turn on way, but if only all normal kisses had that much electricity... He is V tasty. Has anyone else noticed the popularity of vintage military coats on the street?

ellceeell · 07/01/2007 15:52

Just in case anyone missed the early episodes of Torchwood - Episode 1 is on BBC3 tonight at 10.00pm

Katymac · 07/01/2007 15:56

I didn't see that last 2 episodes are they going to be repeated?

PeachyClair · 07/01/2007 16:00

Dh is v excited by the amster idea, he said something similar at the time...

Blandmum · 07/01/2007 16:01

My cousin went to see 'Jack' in the Cardiff panto and said he was great, and seemed to be havng a great time.

mummyjx · 16/01/2007 22:59

Am glad (did I say that?) they are repeating Torchwood again. Although do you think it will be "on a loop" until the new series?
That snog (when Jack kisses that women who is possessed by the sex monster) isn't nearly as electric as the one with the man.
